“Came here for lunch with my daughter on Thursday. It was wonderful! The empanadas were excellent. Nicely fried, not greasy. The rice was delicious. My daughter had chicken wings with her meal. She said 10/10!! Service was great! Very friendly & attentive. We will most definitely be back again to sample more items off the menu. One last thing….the spicy avocado dipping sauce was amazing!! Just the right amount of heat.”
“Friend and I were driving from Grinnell, Iowa to Oak Park, Illinois and wanted to stop someplace about halfway for a quick dinner. I saw this place and that it was well rated. We were quite happy to find it.Informal, relatively small place filled with very welcoming locals. The kind of place where you’d tell a friend that you’ll be hanging out one evening so they should stop by for a drink.Typical bar / pub food. Few items appeared to be made from scratch, as evidenced by the box of Hamburger Helper near the bathrooms. But people who come here aren’t coming for fine dining. They’re coming for well-priced, comfort food items and, more importantly, a fun, laid back, social atmosphere.I had shared fried pickles and mushrooms for starters and a grilled chicken with tots. Mmmm.I would definitely come back.”
“I’ve been going here with my dad on weekends for at least the past 15 years! The Owners remember when I was a kid. Excellent food, excellent service, and excellent staff and owners. Parking on Sundays may be a challenge but that is generally their busiest day. Never been disappointed the last 15 years I’ve been going here. Highly recommended.Kid-friendliness: Kids are there frequently with family.Wheelchair accessibility: 100% accessible for wheelchairs. No steps to walk up.”
“I have been going to Arthur's for years because it is such a simply, but tasty, meal! I'd say I go at least once a week for my lunch and I'm never disappointed with my food. Wait times can sometimes be long but I expect that at Noon and plan accordingly.I recommend the #4(turkey & cheddar sandwich) and #7(chicken, bacon, cheddar sandwich), any of the soups, and the pasta salad. All so good!”
“Great food and great service. Parking lot, building access and tables are handicapped accessable. Full bar. Catfish was great and Buffalo chicken salad. Large serving, serve salad bar. About 15 per person. Now we didn't have any drinks (to far from home).”
“I'm wondering why this place has a lower rating than Angelo's. Maria's sauce is the best! Although the edges are good, the under crust could be crispier in my opinion. The thickness of the cheese varies. Sometimes they put too much cheese on it. I'm giving it a 5 because I think it's the best pizza in town.”
“First timers, we wanted to try it out. Atmosphere was nice and welcoming. The 2 ladies working the bar also waited on the tables. One more person could have helped. The food was good but you will wait a while, so don't be in a hurry. We ordered a pretzel (didn't get) but someone next to us did and it looked good and it is big, perfect for a group. Burgers seemed to be premade patties but taste good. Sweet potato fries are tasty. We may go again. They do charge 3% on credit card. A bill for the 4 was $100.”
“Wonderful place from the owners of Candlelight. They offer the ubiquitous Chicken George with yummy Jan’s sauce. We were served mini cornbread muffins on the table upon arrival. Wonderful. We ordered Burnt Ends as an appetizer. They were so great. I ordered the Chicken Southwest bowl. It smelled divine and was very filling. My wife ordered the Pub Burger and fries. She said the burger was okay but the fries were delicious. My sister had the Brisket Philly sandwich and said it was slightly above average. My parents both got Chicken George. My mom had garlic mashed potatoes and my dad fries. Both thumbs up. I’d say it’s worth a stop and ask for Kim to be your waitress. She’s phenomenal!”
“I love Fresco on First. I am diabetic and I always find something that I can eat and it doesn’t hurt my blood sugar. The staff is always delightful and I love the ambiance. I keep trying to find out what this building used to be. It appears to be like a Ben Franklin Store or a Woolworth 5 and dime. If anyone knows please tell me.Vegetarian options: I really enjoyed the vegetarian sandwich and the vegetarian soup.”
“The Loop has the absolute BEST SANDWICH in North West Illinois. There isn’t a bad option when it comes to the greatness being served up from Linda’s kitchen. While some may think of this hidden gem as just a dive bar that serves good sandwiches; I think of it as a fine dining establishment that just so happens to be in a dive bar.”
“Read about this place on one of the pursuing pork tenderloin Facebook groups. While the tenderloin was more like a battered pork chop sandwich, not my favorite but my guy really enjoyed it, the hand battered buffalo cauliflower was to die for. It was large pieces in delicious crunch batter and served with ranch. That was my favorite!”
“This was our first time & we celebrated our 25th anniversary there. I never said anything to them about it. I had the Gelana steak special, the steak was good & the sauce. I personally didn’t like those potatoes with it, maybe baked little red potatoes would have been better. My husband had the Ribeye and added mushrooms and onions. The salad bar is included for 1 trip up. Small plates. I really liked the pea salad. The garlic mashed potatoes were great. We weren’t offered fresh bread, but over heard another table offered some when they got seated. So not sure if that’s offered or not. I added a margarita, 2 choices. Strawberry (not fresh) but good or original.Wheelchair accessibility: 2 spots at the main entrance”
“Stopped here while passing through Dixon on a job assignment the other day. I got the cookies & cream with a vanilla base which tasted amazing. Even better than the drink was the staff though. I’m assuming the owner or manager is who I talked with & she was the absolute sweetest & super knowledgeable. Will definitely come back when I visit. ❤️”
“I eat here very often and all the food and sushi is very good, the service is very good too, my only complaint is I wish they were more out there with their sake selection on the cold side.”
“Don't live here. Game was on. What to do? Chose Lil' Smoked because of the near perfect score. It's well deserved.Had shift change bartenders, beer, bloody Mary and wings. Bartender rocked. Wish I remembered her name. I'd give her some review love. Infectious smile. No volume on the TV's but all on the game. Beer was cold. So was the glass I ask for. Bloody was a 3 on taste 4 on presentation. Bartender 2 immediately added tobasco, lemon and Vodka upon request. No cracked pepper :(Wings were excellent. Sauces all fantastic. I'd really like to try more of their menu. You can always tell when a kitchen cares.Five star kitchen and bartenders. Small ding on the drinks. Highly reccomend.”
