“OMG their pizza has always been good since early 2000, I use to visit the restaurant on 71st Street until I found the Dolton location. Love both restaurants but not the one on 83rd Halsted. Too many in and out and kicking it with buddies and also they don't wash their hands after coming from outside. I canceled my order once. Will never go there again.“
“I love this place! The chicken Marsala is incredible! We also had eggplant roll acting as an appetizer, linguine with clams, gnocchi and manicotti! All great and we all have dinner for tomorrow! Service is great and always like talking to the owner, who makes you feel like you are his personal guests! Only suggestion for improvement is to assign the waitstaff to one area! This happened last time too. The servers are running all over! Be a little kinder to them. They work so hard!“
“Was in the neighborhood and I stopped by. Italian beef sandwich is amazing. Loaded with beef. Only thing that happened was that I ordered an Italian combo and I got just a regular Italian beef. Giardiniera was not spicy at all and I do like spicy. Otherwise, will probably be back.Parking: There is a parking lot on the side of the building.“
“Thin crust crispy tavern style pizza!! I’ve had many pizzas and different styles, but this is the best I’ve had in a while. We had the pepperoni with hot gardenia peppers and for apps jalapeño poppers and sausage toasted ravioli. The pizzas are def made with love and had that PERFECT crisp bite!! Can’t wait to come back for some more and this place is CASH ONLY ??Kid-friendliness: High chairs for babies.“
“Went in for dinner with my daughters, and the ambiance was so friendly, being greeted when walking in. We did not have to wait long for a table for 5, we had the cod dinner, pizza, chicken tenders, and cheeseburger. The girls and I loved it. Can't believe we moved to Midlothian over a year ago and we just tried this place!! We sure have been missing out.“
“Another great spot near Hammond Marina! Genuinely friendly service & hospitality- Serbian style! Old-school, charming atmosphere. Good food & drinks. An unexpected treat! You should definitely check out this spot if you are in the area. I will definitely be back.“
“The Chicago styled pizza is amazing !!! I love the burnt styled cheese on it !! First time trying this place and I loved it !! I will definitely be back to try more pasta and ofcourse the pizza !! It is now one of my favorite places . I also got the Gnocchi which really showcases the sauce here ! The tomato soup was a great choice it had a lot of flavor and I’m glad if tryed it . My service was fast and great . Nice spacious place with a lot of booth seating .“
“I just got off the phone with Migele from the Evergreen Park store and had some issues with my order. I'm severely handicapped and asked for curbside pickup, and also a change to the order. Migele was very accommodating and did a great professional job. And my sister said that the pizza was very good. Thanks again Miguel ?“
“I called for carry out. I asked if they were Neapolitan pizza? I was told yes. So I ordered a medium, Neapolitan pizza and what I recieved was not Neapolitan. This would have been a 5 star review had the crust been Neapolitan or had I just wanted a thin crust pizza. My issue is this is not Neapolitan pizza, even if it's very tasty pizza.“
“Omg this was our first time there Saturday and this pizza is so delicious ?. We ordered the thin crust chicken sausage and Jalapeno's. The pizza barely made it home!! Seasoned well nice crispy thin crust. Reminds me of Italian fiesta pizza. We will definitely be back. It's take out only. But if you wanna eat and watch the game it's connected to a cool bar. We had a couple drinks while waiting for our pizza. 9/10“
“Stopped in for dinner on a Tuesday night and was sat immediately. Service was slow but good. We started with the stuffed mushrooms that are never a miss! We also order the grilled lamb tbone and filet and shrimp. Food was just okay, not very flavorful as usual. We also had a soup and house salad to start, I’m not sure if the dressing is made in house but tasted off as well.“
“First time me and my daughter at Chicago, we definitely needed to try Giordano’s famous deep dish pizza, and the recommendations are true; Best pizza in town. We had a small Chicago classic. This will be my to-go spot for pizza each time I come.“
“Hosted a small family and friends luncheon (31 people) with a set menu (Chicken Marsala). For five of the younger kids had the Kids Meal -- they loved the Kiddie Cocktails! We arrived 45 minutes early and the staff reacted toget things moving right away. Very accomodating! My wife and I will definitely go back for dinners and will also consider for future family events.Vegetarian options: Don't recall the details of the vegetarian offering but the vegetarian in the family was pleased.Kid-friendliness: Had the patience of Saints with accomodating the young ones!“
“Their pizza is a tried and true Southside favorite. Thin crust, served on a grate/grill hovering over the pan so crust STAYS crispy. Harder to pull the slices, but worth it for each crispy bite. Sauce is on sweet side for those that prefer that. Very generous portions. We are used to getting this Pizza 'to go', and it is delicious that way, but if you want it to be fantastic?... get a table. OMG. Just incredible.“
“Both the food and service here were excellent! We sat in the banquet hall and had a small range of food brought out. It was all very good. The sausage and potatoes were phenomenal, and the red sauce on the pasta was some of the best I've ever had. Would definitely revisit this restaurant.“
“An Olive Garden is an Olive Garden. Admittedly, if you're eating in one in the Chicago area, it's probably a matter of convenience and price/familiarity. In my case it was both of those, and not having the time to find a top-shelf Italian restaurant. However, overall this is a better than average Olive Garden in my experience, hence the 5 star.Staff is very attentive, even when it is close to the closing hour. The food is timely in preparation. Nothing was wrongly prepared per the menu or specifications for an OG. When it was asked, they even paid attention to my "Please don't bring me extra bread. I don't know when to stop" request on the first statement, which I appreciate. (No, seriously, I don't. I could inhale their breadsticks in the dozens. I know they're not that good but I just can't help myself. Why do you few loyal readers think most of my reviews are restaurants? Hah.) Prices are exactly as you expect: $20-30 a head unless you're getting fancy.Atmosphere is solid for a small family gathering, and the layout is your standard OG, but it's kept clean and well maintained in all sections of the restaurant. So, if you're specifically looking for an OG (Which I am usually not, but sometimes you get what you gotta get), this one's worth keeping in mind when you're having that inevitable "Let's not go to THAT one. Let's go to the good one."This is the good one.“
“Very nice place. The gnocchi baked with cheese was excellent and really enjoyed it. The chicken picata and vesuvio potatoes we average. Could have used more flavor. More lemon on the chicken and more garlic on the potatoes. The bread was really good and fresh. I will come back and try other items. Overall it was a great experience. Highly recommend the gnocchi.“
“We booked the Calabria food truck to cater my brother’s engagement party with 80 guests and everything was perfect! We served three different sandwiches plus the homemade chips. The food was delicious. Many of our guests have told us they’ve visited Calabria since the party because they needed to have their sandwiches again! The truck brought a great ambiance to the party too - they played music, had nice lighting, and had a large chalkboard sign with a congrats message to the couple. Julia on the Calabria team was great to work with and answered all of our questions. The on-site team was attentive and had wonderful service. All around an amazing experience!“
“I have been going there for 30 years everything I have tried over the years has been great! The pizza sauce is sweet so it's not for everyone but I highly recommend it.Frank the owner is one of the nicest down to earth guys you will ever meet. The atmosphere is old school but comfortable.“
“On a journey to the Village of Matteson to retrieve lost treasures, we stopped for sustenance of the Olive Garden. The kids were hungry, and I was tired. After an enjoyable meal, we ventured onward to find the lost treasure.Kid-friendliness: They had crayons and games for my kids.“
“The food was good; the waitress was polite and attentive. The prices were okay. The restaurant is clean. The only thing I don't like, and it's not the restaurant's fault you have to pay for street parking. The business should complain to the alderperson about this.“
“I love this place. It has become a new family favorite and the employees are always so kind. The food is what you would expect it to be. It's not a Michelin star restaurant but I have not been served something that was not good. We usually go during dinner time and sometimes it can be really quaint and quiet but sometimes it can be really busy but the attitude of the employees makes the extended wait ok.Vegetarian options: I don't know a lot about being a vegetarian but there are some meatless optionsParking: The parking in front is usually taken but there is a little lot behind it that usually has parkingKid-friendliness: We take our kids all the time!“
“The pizza is really good! Moving forward I will not order anything else from here. Their mozzarella cheese is not good in their appetizers or the god mother sandwich. The sandwich felt like it was just a chicken tender in the bread with the mozzarella cheese.“
“You have to come here asap. This pizza screams south side thin. The owner is a very nice man and truly cares about the community while taking great pride in his food. I live in Hometown just a mile away. So I have a unlimited great choices very close. Hands down, of the best.“
“We came in this evening and sat at the bar. The bar staff was incredibly friendly and engaging. We shared the calamari, which was delicious, and each had our own salad, and shared an entrée of rotini sardi. Great ambience with the paintings and other decorations.“
“1st time visitor and great experience. Rosario food is generally excellent but it’s the support staff that makes the difference. I got up from the bar and didn’t realize my wallet fell on the floor. Upon my return from the bathroom my wallet was on the bar waiting for me with a smile from the assistant GM.“
“We fell in love with this place last year, so when we are in the area, we always come back. Ŵell it's starting to go downhill. Everytime we order, we always ask for them to not dip it and to put it on the side. Everytime they have dipped it, and my bread was soggy. That's a no go for me!! I may have to found another Italian beef shop instead. So sad :(“
“Always have fresh and delicious slices during lunchtime hours. Pepperoni is quite popular so I advise to call to see if they have slices available before going. They can make a pepperoni pizza for slices by the time you arrive (15 mins)Also their lunch buffet is back open for dine in.“
“This is old school pizza. It’s very good. This is the type of place where you can throw the kids at one table with a pitcher of pop and a pizza while the adults drink pitchers of beer at another table. I miss old family restaurants like this.“
“First time trying them & I ordered a Jim shoe bc I never had one & after I got done eating I said “ what’s a Philly ? What’s a gyro? ?” I WANT A JIM SHOE ALL THE TIME NOW & NO MY BACK NOT BIG BUT IT WILL BE (u have to ask for peppers and pay extra only reason I’m giving 4 stars) (I GOT MINES DIPPED IN ITILIAN BEEF JUICE)“
“Food is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! Service is IMPECCABLY FANTASTIC! Ambiance is GREAT! I be eaten there with my family on many occasions! The place is always clean, organized and inviting' Very seldom do you ever find an establishment that CONSISTENTLY EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS! CAPRI WHITING has performed above and beyond for many, many years! Kudos to the Savarino Family and your entire staff!“
“He started selling it a little cart outside of gas station in South Holland. Then he moved into the gas station. Denny open up his own business in South Holland. One of the best beef sandwiches I've ever had. The location and Thornton is nice. Very friendly very comfortable. I would recommend to anyone“
“Their Chicago style pizza is beyond delicious! 3 different styles, many ingredient combinations. Salad is good. Dessert is outstanding. Clean friendly upbeat environment, great greeters and servers. Nice bar area. Reasonable prices. No skimping on ingredients! Plenty of table, booth and bar seating with many TV's. Went there for my Birthday...that's how much I love that place. Convenient location, clean bathrooms. Did I mention great pizza?“
“I ordered a John's sausage pizza for pick up. The pizza was ready for me when I arrived. John's offers a unique pizza cut. The sausage was crumbly, spicy and generously topped on the pizza. The pizza crust was amazing.I grew up on John's pizza when I lived in the Calumet region. My family usually visited other locations....Hammond and Calumet City. It's probably been 15 years since I last had John's. I picked up the pizza pictured and it was the same quality as the pizza I grew up on. Munster's John's did not dissappoint. I would recommend John's to family and friends. I'll visit this location again the next time I'm in town. John's is a gem in the Calumet Region.“
“I go on Fridays for happy hour where they have half off drinks. Clean adult fun with no drama. It's normally packed so if you don't like crowds, this place may not be for you. They have one of the best dj's in Chicago on Friday, Dj Reverb and he keeps the place jumping.Parking: Parking can be difficult on Fridays due to happy hour, get there early“
“I'm italian, but not a snob about it. Their food has always been good. Our server was friendly and attentive but not overly attentive (I fund overly attentive annoying). The only complaint is the place can do with a make-over, I think the interior is still the same as it was when the place opened. Don't get me wrong, it still appears to be clean“
“Olive Garden really is like family. Not mine, but like your best friends extended family on a holiday. Where they welcome you like you've been away too long and just want to feed you. I always get big portions. Enough for lunch the next day. The drinks are made very well.“
“This is the family place you wanna eat at. The food is really good. The wife and I fill up on the appetizers so often we have to get the main course to go. The soups, saganaki, zucchini and mushrooms are filling enough. But we still get a hot beef for tomorrow, knowing how good it is. The waitresses and owner are super friendly and make it a super enjoyable experience. But you can’t go home without dessert. Look in the case and you will find better than bakery treats! Take some with you cuz they are OUTSTANDING!“
“Viany’s will be my new favorite place to visit when I’m in Chicago! The owners went out of their way to make sure we were happy with our food choices, making recommendations on what was freshest that day. There was a steady flow of customers which I’m sure will continue! Great to see the old Pucci’s location smoothly transitioning with more diverse food options.Vegetarian options: The Margarita pizza was delicious, as were the zucchini rings.“
“*** EDIT- we were very pleased that management corrected things and allowed us to give them another shot. This time around the customer service was way better and the food looks way better than last time. I appreciate management reaching out and making things right with us it does show that they care about their customers and their dignity. Thanks state line in Dyer !We usually go to Schererville because they never mix up our order and its always awesome. But today we went to dyer because schererville is closed on tuesdays. The customer service was horrid, employees were so rude. They absolutely burnt our bread sticks. And then the lady working up front ran out and knocked on my car window stating i didnt have the right food and that she didnt give me the right bag. I had to physically show her everything in my bag was MY ORDER. this location is a disappointment. Never again.“
“Last night my husband and I enjoyed one of the best pizzas we have ever had. It was cooked perfect. We ordered a medium and took leftovers home. Staff members were remarkable. Thumbs up to a great pizza place. Tasted exactly like the original Aurelio’s in Homewood“
“I enjoyed the beef polish. The steak burrito didn't have much flavor. The steak tasted greasy. I've had the same experience with the steak tacos. Not a fan of the fries but as a fry lover, I still ate them. Lol U can get a meal for a reasonable price.“
“Daughter and I were visiting Illinois and craved Italian beef. This place didn't disappoint us. We also tried Grilled Chicken Sandwich and Turkey Hoagie. What can I say we were on a road trip ?Try and I believe you will enjoy their customer service and food.I will return during our next trip to Illinois.Parking: The Hoagie Place is sandwiched with other businesses and they all share the same parking lot which makes for difficult parking .“
