“We visited this amazing establishment last night and ordered the filet and the Manhattan strip for our entrées with a side of the mushrooms, and it was possibly one of the best steaks we had had. Our server and Jesse was wonderful, and when he wasn’t available home, there was another manager who came and brought items out, so there was no delay in service while he was attending another customer and socialized at the table. We dined outside on the patio underneath the heat lamp and lights. The Barn was the perfect atmosphere for our relaxing evening together. We were very pleased with all that we ordered as well as the service. We would highly recommend the Barn restaurant to others.“
“I stayed at the Graduate in Evanston for a few days in July. I really liked the vintage style of the hotel building, and the friendly staff, but I was dismayed at how cold it was in the hotel because of the excessive air conditioning. I turned it off in our room as soon as we arrived and the temperature remained comfortable there during our whole stay. It seemed to me that the AC in the lobby, the restaurant, and the bar was actually set to a lower temperature than the heating would be in the winter. And there was a fire in the fireplace, with temperatures in the 80s and 90s outside and AC on! The Graduate Hotel management seems to be ignoring how important saving energy is right now, in light of global warming. Their blatant disregard for the environment sent a shiver down my spine in more than one way.“
“Dropped in for a quick dinner. Was offered chips and salsa immediately, which was delicious.Ordered 3 tacos. Food arrived within 5 minutes! I got the Carne Asada, Crispy Fish and Pork belly. I was expecting the pork belly to be the best one, but it was the crispy fish that had the most flavour!“
“Lucky Platter is a a true gem. Very tasty food, wonderful staff and a great owner. My favorite dishes at Lucky Plater are: Swedish crepes, tandoori salmon, pull pork tacos with a most amazing pineapple salsa and pumpkin soup.5 ⭐️ all the way!“
“We love Prairie Moon, especially the family burger box for four. The burgers are made to order and the portions are extremely generous. The burgers (including a vegetarian and chicken option) also come with your choice of fries (garlic or regular) which are both fantastic. To top it off, the meals are served with a side of coleslaw and a huge salad portioned for 4 (but big enough for 6 it seems). Because the portions are so generous, I now have salad leftover for my lunch today!“
“Blue Horse Tavern, Lulu's, Taco Diablo, and Five & Dime are all connected if you were confused like I was originally. When you get seated at any dining area of these establishments, you can order from all the different restaurants menus. Very interesting concept, almost like a sit-down food court in a way, but I think the food and the atmosphere is way better than any food court I have been in. I enjoy the tacos at Taco Diablo (a little expensive, but still tasty), but my recent order of the full rack ribs was fantastic. The house sauce has a strong bourbon flavor, pretty interesting and unique. Great since I was really craving ribs and wanted to try ribs from a place I had never ordered them from before. I was pretty skeptical since this isn't a bbq place, but I was pleasantly surprised! The meat fell off the bone as we were cutting into the ribs, which was already a good sign. Theres a lot of dishes I still haven't tried, specifically from the Lulu's menu, so I'll have to come back and try those out!“
“Date night with the partner, and this is our go to spot. While here tonight we witnessed the Manager on Duty handle what I would call a “Karen” quite skillfully. I’m very impressed with their level of patience, and dedication to the job. I have to say I wanted to intervene on their behalf and tell this crazy white lady to chill, but they were amazing and didn’t need any assistance. This person deserves some recognition for dealing with that mess. In short, this place is awesome. Staff are always friendly, and even IF there is an issue they are quick to fix it. 10/10“
“Jason and Ryan, at the bar, do so much to make a newcomer (like ourselves) feel like we've been here a hundred times. Recently transplanted, it's refreshing to know that there is the kind of service and hospitality that makes a strange face feel like we've been regulars for years. That's how you keep and grow your clientele. The place could not know that I am a Food and Beverage Director on Cruise Ships. So the hug at the end of service was not only appreciated, but truly heartfelt. Thank you!“
“I recently hosted a large party for my wifes birthday in downtown evanston, followed by an after party of approx. 40 people at Ridgeville Tavern. Ike reserved half the bar for my party, and since it was late night after his kitchen is closed, let me bring in a tray of wings from nearby. The atmosphere was perfect for the occasion, the service was great, and we all very much enjoyed hanging out, having a great time and closing down Ridgeville Tavern!! Thank you Ike and the staff at Ridgeville Tavern for helping us close out this amazing night!!“
“I have been to Bat 17 numerous times over the years, and I always really enjoy it. They have solid vegetarian options, and the rest of their food is equally good. Their outside seating section is a big hit in the warm weather, but the indoors is just as nice. The servers in my experience have always been kind and helpful which is much appreciated! I feel like it is hard to find a good sandwhich or burger nowadays, but Bat 17 does the basics very well.“
“Even though it was super busy bc of Valentines , service was spot on. Everybody was working so hard to accommodate every table. Food was delicious. We love the fact that it's family run. Everyone is so cordial and pleasant. We keep going back for more. We like sitting at the bar also, Jackie, the bartender is friendly and sweet And efficient. Give it a try!“
