“Located in Wilmette, this establishment masterfully combines the lively atmosphere of a Greek diner with the homey feel of an American tavern. My first experience was marked by exceptionally warm, welcoming, and responsive service. Not only does it offer a wide range of drink options, including creative mocktails and non-alcoholic beers, but the food menu is equally impressive, catering to every palate in your party. This spot has become a true neighborhood gem, buzzing with energy on weekends and providing a cozy retreat for locals and visitors alike. Living in the Twin Cities but originally from Chicago, this place brought me a sense of homecoming. I look forward to coming back. Opa!“
“I had not been to this part of the world in a while having grown up in the Evanston area.A friend of mine she invited to meet some people in Kenilworth part of some meetup I never heard of because I've been living in Panama and Bogota for the last year. This is a pleasant neighborhood place...met an ex for a dinner. The salad was great though :)Service is prompt. Sometimes it can be quite lively here“
“Visited this spot on New Year's Eve with some good friends. Great vibes and fun mini golfing! Good way to stay active on your night out. Also some games scattered around the place. Very friendly staff. We had an amazing night there. Highly recommend!“
“My journey to Warlord, located in Chicago's Avondale neighborhood, began with a long commute from the Gold Coast. Arriving at 5:39 pm, we were met with the unfortunate news of a 3-hour wait. After returning home and headed back, we waited an additional hour (4 hours). For that, Connor, a true man of his word, secured us the coveted chef's table seats.Nick, our server, was both friendly and accommodating, adding to the overall positive experience at the chef's counter. The atmosphere at Warlord is truly captivating, creating a memorable dining experience. However, while the service and ambiance were exceptional, the food itself fell short of expectations. The steak was "earthy," and left something to be desired. The burger, lacking cheese and failing to surpass the renowned Au Cheval offering, was also disappointing. Even the toast with truffle, while decent, only managed a mediocre rating of 7/10.While the staff and atmosphere create an unforgettable experience, significant improvement is needed in the food department to truly match the outstanding service and ambiance.“
“I loved this place, very good food, everyone who served me was so kind. I ate an impossible burger that was delicious accompanied by very crispy potatoes, they have a wide variety of coffees and drinks, and they have different promotions every day.“
“The taquitos are quite good. And the home made salsas are fab. You need to try both! But the tomatillo avocado was my favorite. The drinks were nice and they have a nice local craft beer selection. The piña poblano was spicy and the draft margarita was delicious.“
“All you can eat fish 'n chips days are not to sleep on.The fish is awesome. Batter is thin, golden and incredibly crunchy yet gentle. Very tasty and satisfying! The last time I was there I was quite disappointed by availability of whiskeys. Lots of options were out.Scottish imported beer was there as always and as always great pours with perfect foam head.“
“Hosted a big birthday party in the back room. They let us bring decorations and cake and Hannah our server was so wonderfully attentive to everyone’s orders and keeping them all straight. She let us adjust the music volume to our liking, and the entire staff was just so wonderful all around. Will absolutely be back!!“
“My wife and I ordered oat milk lattes and both were made to perfection. Some coffee shops tend to overheat oat milk and end up making it thinner and generally unpleasant to taste but these folks know what they're doing!Parking: Parking on the street nearby is fairly easy to find.“
“Had a birthday party here for 10 people we hadddd a ball we had so much fun when I say to need to come you should they even let me bring in food the owner was very nice stayed on point with Communication in booking the room they really need to have a bottle service spent 200$ on shots but a very cool place to go will come back again thank you“
“I hosted a get together costume party last week at Delilah’s after my friend recommended that we check them out. super cool atmosphere, party space, and amenities. They didn’t serve food so we ordered some in, but there was a mishap with the delivery. But Mike and Isa helped us out and we’re very accommodating with the changing and unfortunate situation. everybody went beyond out of their ways to help make it a great night for us. Made it very easy to deal with and everybody had a great night. Great deal on drink packages and space rental too with very transparent and upfront pricing.“
“The Wolfhound Pub offers a delightful experience with its exceptional food and cocktails, especially noteworthy are their espresso martinis and lemon drops which are truly outstanding. Brendan, Emily, and the entire staff create a warm and inviting atmosphere, making patrons feel right at home. Whether you're stopping by for a meal or drinks, expect nothing less than a consistently fantastic time at The Wolfhound.“
“I love this place! The music is always good and the drinks are great. I do have to say that the bouncer/ door guy absolutely kills the vibe from the second you arrive. He is the only reason I gave 4 stars instead of five. I’m sure if you go when it’s less busy and he’s not there it would be a flawless experience. But this guy is constantly making remarks about other people and pissing people off before you go inside. He makes me so uncomfortable that the last time I was there I didn’t even want to wait in the bathroom line behind him bc I didn't want to have to deal with whatever he was going go say.“
“Original cocktails in an original setting. Very good service, very good drinks that you won't find everywhere (their own touch on the classics too), good ingredients and bottles behind the bar. Pick your atmosphere: you can sit a the counter where it's more like a speakeasy, or at a table in the bustling bar, or in the lobby area of the apartment building where it's more like a quieter lounge. My favorite bar in uptown.“
“This is my absolute favorite neighborhood bar. They have Aviary style cocktails at Portage Park prices and amazing culinary fare. They have the best happy hour specials, and the staff is extremely nice and accommodating. The atmosphere wins the vibe check, and their music is always on point. Not that basic top 20 ish. I hosted my birthday party at their downstairs bar, which has a totally different cocktail menu. Our guests loved the venue and said the service was top notch. The owners are great!“
“The coolest bar in Rogers Park! They have a small but fun cocktail selection, great beer & cider selection, super super friendly staff and the best vibes. They have no food but you are allowed to bring any takeout you want or you can directly order to your table from any restaurant you want. Such chill vibes honestly. We were here as a huge group last week for our friends birthday party (about 40 of us) and our waiter has been a saint with taking sssoooo many orders and hand delivering them to the correct person, and with the most fun attitude too! It honestly doesn’t get better than this.“
“one of my favorite places in Chicago! I probably go at least one day a week.amazing year round patio, wonderful drinks, great vibe. Really good food that rotates through various vendors.can't say enough good things about it.Dietary restrictions: lots of non-alcoholic options tooParking: lots of street parking on IrvingKid-friendliness: no kids after 5pm“
“Sleeping Village is a wonderfully funky little music venue in Avondale. The acts tend to be a bit obscure, but you may catch a star in the making. They offer a fine selection of beers and ciders. This is not a restaurant, so I'm not sure why food review would apply.“
“An absolute gem.I reserved the back lounge room for my birthday and it was the best decision ever! It was easy to communicate via their Instagram, and the room was reserved and ready to go. They even let me bring a cake and hire a caricature artist to come! We played bingo, had delicious cocktails, and admired the decor and items for sale (I now own a rainbow pin striped shirt!). I would HIGHLY highly recommend this place for a birthday, an event, or just to swing by for drinks! My highlight of the night Mark and Jana who smiled the whole night, made us delicious cocktails, and made our group feel at home. Loved their drink recommendations, too. Thank you, Consignment Lounge! Will continue singing your praises to everyone I know and can’t wait to come back.“
“I went to Mother's Ruin with a group of my coworkers, and Keith the bartender took the best care of us. He really made all of our nights special. I have also gone to Mother's Ruin for my birthday and graduation, and each time the service is always spectacular. I can't recommend this place enough! I highly recommend the nachos, and the specialty cocktails they have are all delicious.“
“Absolutely adorable decor as you step into this neighborhood local joint, filled with music legend memorabilia and tv's lit with tunes from Queen. The menu is simple with each burger having its own personality. Each sandwich can be made into a chicken sandwich or a meatless veggie option as well. Had the curds and Parmesan fries on the side. Cute trivia cards to entertain you and your table guests. Was excellent quality food, and wonderfully friendly service.“
“Fun atmosphere with lots of energy. Great place to watch sporting events. Their pizzas are what to order. The simple pepperoni Tavern style was really good. Great service, friendly staff and they don't mind if you stay for an entire basketball game.“
“Beer spot with around 20 beers on draft. They don't sell food, only a few snacks but You can bring your own food, play some games or to go there for trivia. Very cosy place with a good selection of can beers ( around 200). Cool place to hang out with some friends on afternoon or evening . Highly recommend “
“Fantastic retro bowling alley on the second floor. The whole place has a fantastic retro feeling... the lanes, the balls, and the maneul scoring; all of it comes together for a great experience.Bar has some nice specials that change daily, a diverse beer selection, and a surprisingly great spirit selection. Very worth dropping by with a group.“
“Awesome steakhouse in Rivers casino! We love Gibson's/Hugo's downtown, so it's always fun to go to this location at the casino. Steak, salads, cocktails, wine, desserts, all amazing! Service is great and the manager always seems to be around and checking in with tables. Always a fantastic experience“
“This place has the best Cheers-type vibe. (where everybody knows your name) all of the staff are SO welcoming and accommodating. The patio during the summer is a great place to hang out. The food is also great — the only reason I took away a star is because I wish the Monday buffalo chicken wrap deal was an available menu item every day. even if i had to pay more than the deal amount, i wish the buffalo wrap was available every day.“
“I never believed my life will change in such a manner. I saw a review on Facebook about Mrs Craig Vanessa trading skills and before then I have never risk money doing anything online with anybody because I think I was so wise and never want to be cheated but when I contacted Mrs. Craig Vanessa, she explained everything to me concerning trading and the profit I can make within a week I was convinced to give a trial and risked to invest $1,000 and I made a withdrawal profit of $9,000 within a week. I am so happy that I trusted her and she didn't fail me. You can reach her through WhatsApp via her Facebook: Mrs Craig Vanessa“
“I don't want to encourage over-indulgence but you can have quite a good time here for about $20 or $25. Cash only, ATM inside, the music the bar plays is always fantastic, and on week nights on occasion they will have seriously good food popups.“
“Owners are great ,. food is prefect same authentic Balkan taste and quality,. It’s hard to find real and good food taste this days ,. but this place it’s real deal 5 stars and above ,. Number 1 dining place strongly recommended if you want to try Bosnian Kebap and Pleskavica ,.“
“Just delightful! Got in last minute for Mardi Gras. More than "just another Cajun place". Had wonderful smokey jambalaya, alligator and collards. Place was packed but one of the owners came by to apologize for sitting us on the counter by the door to the kitchen. Loved watching and smelling the food come together and told him. Really can't say enough about this place.“
“Absolutely love this spot! Have been going since the the lord of the rings pop up! I love how creative they get making a nostalgic feel for me. I will admit there has been a sense of apathy within the personnel working since I’ve been going… It’s become a “figure it out” vs let me help you with that mentality I wish the events had more pizazz! Sometimes I feel I’m drinking at a museum vs having something to interact with. I do love the Emo nights and the cocktails! So unique and definitely top tier in the bar scene!! I recommend this place but am weary since the “I don’t care” mentality. This place is absolutely amazing however and the top of my list! I can’t wait for the next pop up!“
“Went to an excellent book reading event at GMan featuring Gedda Barker, author of "Don't stand in line," which covers her years growing up as a first-gen kid in Logan Square, being in the first class of girls at Lane Tech, working at PRAXIS magazine, and much more. Oh yeah, she worked at Wax Trax, became a criminal defense attorney, and married a rock star. Great read for everyone who grew up in Chicago and experienced the punk rock years and beyond on the local music scene.“
“Shane is by far one of the best servers I’ve ever had in all my high end experience. Not only was he incredibly knowledgeable but he had such a fun and bubbly personality me and my friends couldn’t help but have the best time with him. I highly recommend this restaurant for its food and staff but make sure to ask for Shane!!!“
“I've grown up and worked in restaurants all my life, so it's rare for me to find a restaurant that checks all the boxes. Sometimes you get a great atmosphere with overpriced food or vice versa, but with Alma you won't have to compromise. The chef selection menu items were fantastic (I'd recommend the charcuterie.) and I found the service and atmosphere to be cozy and inviting. We'll definitely be back.“
“Havent eaten here so cant comment on food (heard it is good though). If you like to play darts this is a great place to go. They sponsor a number of different teams and have a great back room dedicated to darts and a bi-weekly blind draw on Wednesdays. Everybody is friendly. Recommend checking it out! Good beer specials. Nice “
“I'm so glad G's is back open! The whole vibe of the place has changed. Make sure you stop by to see Esther on Wed or Fri. She makes the whole experience better! From having a expert knowledge of drinks to her warm and welcoming personality, she makes your night! It's a lively and colrful feel and the patio is out of this world!“
“Hidden gem in Budlong Woods/Arcadia terrace. Maria’s cooking is amazing and Anri makes an incredible cocktail. The crowd is usually 30 and 40 somethings. Music also perfect for an elder Millenial like me. Every friend and neighbor I introduce to Rosewood falls in love for good reason. 5 stars all around.“
“Pictures make no justice, this place will blow your mind. An small lounge more looking side will take you out of your senses, not even to mention their drinks, definitely this guys know their stuff mixologist included. Will recommend and surely be back!!“
“I just moved to Chicago and walked to Randall’s for a Christmas night cap and the 49ers game. WOW! This place is incredible. The bar is clean, cozy, welcoming and has a nice shuffleboard table (I wish more bars had them). Juan, one of the owners, was behind the bar pouring delicious cocktails and was great conversation. I can’t wait to make this my staple watering hole!“
“If you want an amazing steak, this is the place! Steak at an Italian restaurant you ask? Yes. They have a dry aged tomahawk steak this is to die for. Mind you it is expensive, but so worth it. It’s huge and when we go as a couple we get it plus a few sides. It is also great for a larger group because then you have room to enjoy their pastas and desert. People usually think you go to a steakhouse to get a great steak. But I have found that many Italian and French restaurants offer these larger prime cuts and they are usually outstanding.“
“After visiting the Czech Republic, I was craving authentic Czech goulash (which, in my opinion, is the best goulash in Europe). As someone living in the loop, I was willing to make the trip to the suburbs based on the authentic menu- the food exceeded expectations and was exactly like the goulash I had in Prague. We also had the schnitzel (pork), but was surprised they did not have a veal or beef option.Service was excellent and there is a nice bar with whatever game is on as well. Beer was appropriately priced and poured well.No doubt would come here again whenever I have a Czech cuisine itch to scratch.“
“Bit expensive but the food is amazing. Right next to landmark so we go before we catch a movie. The enchiladas will make you wonder where they were all your life.Vegetarian options: I eat here with vegan friends and they love it. Vegetarian enchiladas and the vegan fajitas with seitan are their favs.“
“Recently went here for the first time. I particularly enjoyed the Coffee Blossom and Oaxacan Forest Wildflower traditional meads but there were a wide variety of flavored meads too, all of which were great. The owner was more than happy to tell us the story of the business and answer all of our questions about the process, ingredients, etc. I'm looking forward to going again in the future!“
“Best vpn pizza in the aria.. staff is on top of everything and service is great , fast quick and fresh then going there for years love it I just wish they would change up their money once in a while introduce new pizzas introduce new dishes but it’s 100% “
“While unassuming and a little out of the way, there's nothing better than a restaurant/bar with a small town feel, cheap drinks, and an interesting menu. The bartenders were easygoing and helpful, the other patrons were very chill, and we were able to find our own spot and enjoy the day. We went on a Saturday afternoon/evening and had an excellent time.“
“The chicken sandwich was really juicy and crispy with great pickles. They put a slab of cheese over the grilled cheese to keep it from getting soggy and the soup was delicious and this is coming from someone that doesn't like tomato soup. Our waitress was excellent. Very helpful and provided recommendations when needed. However, do not do the outdoor seating if the temp is below 60° you will be cold.“
“John is a great guy! And you cant beat the sevice or the ambient feel of a chicago neighborhood bar. We dont go often enough but when we do its spot on...Fyi John thanks for recovering the bithday girls purse( phone) and jackets .....she was a little buzzed ?“
“Paraphrasing off of a previous review because we feel like it described our experience perfectly. Welcoming owners, fantastic beer selection, dog friendly, plenty of tv’s, overall great local vibe. Definitely a local business worth supporting.“
“I have eaten at Pescadero on multiple occasions and each time the service and food are spectacular. I particularly enjoy when they host special dinners. For instance, last night, they hosted their first Double Clutch Brewery + Pescadero beer pairing dinner and it was incredible! The care for authenticity and passion of both the chef and the award-winning Master Brewer for their crafts really made it special. The chef even contacted the oldest brewery in Germany that is famous for their Rauchbier to inquire about their famous blue sausage. In the end, the German brewery's chef gave Pescadero's chef the recipe, making us feel transported to Germany! I'm also quite picky about seafood and theirs always tastes fresh and high quality. The staff is very friendly and attentive as well. When entering, it feels warm, welcoming and intimate. I would highly recommend visiting!Dietary restrictions: They have been great about accommodating friends' dietary restrictions/allergies“
