“I love backlot coffee; however, the reason I was unable to give this location 5 stars is due to the accessibility (or lack thereof). There is a large window looking into the register area which seems nice but could be too bright for some people. In addition, there is a lot going on inside the cafe to make it look festive but it can be a bit of a sensory overload. There is no braille menu; however the menu is available online and can be read using a screen reader. The area to order and pick up beverages is a lower counter which can be easily accessed by people in wheelchairs. The main accessibility issue is the seating. All of the seats are either high tops or very low, and I tend to find difficulty navigating between the pick up counter and seats and in between the tables, so I can’t imagine how difficult that might be for someone in a wheelchair. Lastly, the doorway is narrow and there is a bit of a ledge to get inside the cafe, and the sidewalk outside tends to get quite busy and crowded with pedestrians.“
“A perfect environment for student entrepreneurs or just to have a coffee with a very friendly team, I visit many coffee shops around Chicago, and I can assure you that the coffee is of high quality.A negative point that is now in the past is the arrangement of the food, there was often no food on the display, and I kept dreaming of something delicious to go with the coffee, and I had no choice. After two visits, the food problem was already in the past.Normally I visit the place 3 times before posting my experience with the place, but I can guarantee that the place is ready for all types of public.“
“Definitely a place to people watch as much as just get a coffee. It has a big, open, bright interior. Some table seating and some more lounge-like. Always seems busy but the turnover is pretty fast so I’ve always been able to get a good place to sit. I appreciate that it’s not Starbucks.Parking: If you can grab a street parking spot in front count yourself lucky. It’s hit or miss. Worst case is you have to park a block away.“
“This is the best coffee shop in town. Every single employee here is friendly and amazing. The coffee is so good! I frequent this place as much as I can afford and each cup is worth every penny. I love that I can also buy jugs of cold brew and k-cups to enjoy my favorite blend at home. Amazing experience all around.“
“Beautiful coffee shop with a good number of tables to hunker down and get work done. Special shoutout to their pour overs! I’ve always been skeptical of coffee tasting notes but I tried the Ethiopian udeyi and I kid you not, it actually tastes like watermelon. Awesome experience!“
“JUST A FRIENDLY FYI TO THOSE PASSING BY WITH THEIR POOCH AND WANT TO PURCHASE A QUICK COFFEE TO-GO, they don’t allow it.5 stars bc i want to see a seemingly inclusive (by the looks of the exterior) local business survive. but I sadly won't be visiting simply because I'm not going to add another trip without the dog into my busy day just to get a cup of coffee.it’s giving pretentious and classist bc who tf has time on their hands these days to make a special trip just for coffee? their preferred crowd is those who can.“
“Besides the amazing donuts, the grinders are delicious. The ingredients are fresh and the sandwiches are well made and huge. The employee behind the counter was very helpful and delightful! We will be frequenting this establishment even more than we previously did.“
“This place is amazing not only the food like my favorites chocolate chip cookies or thelemon poppyseed scone but also the staff is so kind and friendly that I wish I lived closer so I can come here everyday. My favorite coffee shop for sure!“
“I stopped in here one day for breakfast. Parking sucks in the area because it's on the corner. This coffee shop is really cute and well lit. The staff is super friendly and the coffee is great and is affordable. I got the chai latte and tasted really good. I will definitely come back for a cup of Joe“
“Good to Go staff led by the manager Chavonne (I hope I spelled it right) was outstanding in helping me throw my wife's 50th birthday party which was epic and a blessing. It was supposed to be on the rooftop but it was probably one of the roughest rain days of the year. However, the pivot was real and they moved everything downstairs without a blink of an eye! Kudos to Lenice Levy the owner and an awesome place to eat on the North Shore!“
“lovely spot! friendly staff, unique drinks (black sesame latte is a must) with common asian flavors, hosts lots of community events. lots of pastries, and they're starting to make filipino dinner plates too! just make sure to check their Instagram account for their updated hours.“
“This Peet's is usually quite busy as it is situated squarely in the middle of downtown Evanston. I would say the most outstanding feature of this Peet's is the service. Everyone is uniformly friendly, prompt, and helpful. Lots of smiles. Seats may be hard to find as Northwestern students usually plant themselves in their tables and stay there for a good part of the day. It's better when the patio in front of the store opens in Spring. The drip coffee is fine with half-priced refills, and there are an assortment of breakfast sandwiches, pastries , and muffins. Make sure you talk to the server about enrolling in the rewards program which is quite good.“
“I've been coming to this starbucks for 5 weeks straight. Everyday is such a pleasant and quiet experience. Even if I'm relaxing at a table enjoying coffee or my own tea from home. Employees or manager comes by and serves free samples of coffee cake and chai latte when they need to. Overall, I have not had any bad experiences at this location. There was one time my drink was made wrong but we are all humans. Maybe the cashier didn't hear me. I brought it up to their attention and they instantly remade my drink. They're nice and fast here. Thank youWheelchair accessibility: They have a large table for wheelchairs or baby strollers.“
“Coffee shop with some eateries. There is a fair amount of seating, but since it's popular, you won't always find a place to sit. The coffee was good and they have some memorabilia for sale in the form of mugs and so on. I'd come back.“
“This Starbucks is next to Northwestern University and sits in the heart of downtown Evanston. It is a fairly large Starbucks with a large crew serving customers. I was there during a major rush and the staff performed professionally and quickly. The food is your standard Starbucks quality. Even in a rush I had no trouble finding a table.“
“Delicious boba tea! I had the Coconut milk tea with boba and my husband had the mango fruit with boba. This was our first time here! It was busy when we walked in with lines for those wanting to get there bubble / boba tea. There was a great menu of options to choose from and a nice sitting area to relax, and enjoy the drinks. Staff were quick and busy filling in the orders that were coming in. This is located in Chinatown near the Chinatown square. Great spot and delicious boba teas! We will definitely come back when we visit this area again!“
“Unreal! We accidentally fell upon this place this morning and upon entering my jaw dropped and mouth started watering instantly. We ordered a big bag full of both savory and sweet pastries and we ate everything while making lots of mmmmmm sounds throughout. The coffee is great too. We are just visiting Chicago and leave tomorrow but are planning on dropping by again for one more visit before taking off back to Kentucky. All of the pastries and goodies are the perfect blend of flaky and crunchy and gooey and soft and all the right places with a different taste in every bite! Yuummmmmmm....“
