“This place is LIT. I am so picky and such a food snob, this place has a great level of spice, great flavors, every single thing I got was good. A little on the pricey side, wish portions for price were a little bigger, but SO good. Will be coming back.“

“First time at Mt Everest! Excellent food and large portions. Our main waiter was very friendly. Service is rather slow, considering when we got there it was nearly empty, but you could tell it’s a terrific dining experience by the amount of people that came in after we arrived. Twenty minutes later it was packed. Will visit there again!“

“We had lunch today at Thattu. It was bustling with almost every table full, but the tables have ample space between them and it wasn’t too loud. The beautiful exposed brick and huge windows cast a warm glow on the modern dining room. They nailed Indian flavors without being heavy or greasy, and the fun fusion dishes we tried, like Indian-spiced tater tots with sulfur salt and beet ketchup are well executed and a lot of fun. It would be easy to eat healthy at Thattu, and I enjoyed the vegetarian combo with vegetable curry, rice, beans, and sauteed Brussels sprouts with coconut. We also tried the fried chicken with dill sauce, and the catfish.Guests order through an app at Thattu, and the cost is inclusive of service. They don’t accept tips. At lunch, you grab your own flatware, napkins, and water from a bar in the dining room. We didn’t mind this. One particularly nice touch was that when we arrived, there were no tables available, and we agreed to sit at the bar. The host said he would let us know if a table became available, since sometimes guests cancel very close to their reservation time. Lucky for us, about 10 minutes after we arrived, the host brought us to a table. It was kind of him to remember our preference and work on that for us. Googling the restaurant later, I realized that the handsome host was co-owner Vinod Kalathil. He’s clearly a wonderful business owner who knows how to make his customers happy.Thattu2601 W Fletcher StreetChicago’s Avondale neighborhood“

“My wife and I loved the steamed dumplings with mild sauce. The dumplings were very good with or without sauce, but the sauce was delicious too. Chicken tikka masala was one of the best tasting we’ve ever had. Samosa chaat was very good too, one of the better ones. The garlic naan was a bit more plain tasting than we’d live. We highly recommend this place overall and will definitely eat here again and try other stuff!“

“Tried this place with my family. The ambiance is great. Server briefed us the menu - very helpful. We started with the Chai - which was great (we are regular Chai drinkers). Broccoli squash and Eggplant bao were average. But the Butter Chicken Calzone was BOMB. Kebab pizza was tasteful but felt low on toppings. We actually loved their take on Sambar Vada (Tamarind Dal) - perfect flavors. Was looking forward to trying the Chai Cake - but they were out. Maybe next timeOverall loved the thought and execution of these fusion dishes. Clearly not supposed to be authentic Indian food. Will be back to their brunch now“

“Moti Modern Indian Kitchen is bringing flare to Lincoln Park! I think their Modern Fusion Pizza restaurant is a great idea for this location. It's fun, fast casual Indian fusion that won't break your bank account. Great for the neighborhood and DePaul students! We tried the Sweet Chili Momo's steamed dumplings tossed in sweet chili sauce with green peppers and onions. They were nice and flavorful and I loved the texture. We also tried the Tikka Masala Curry with diced and marinated chicken in a spiced creamy curry served with a side of yellow rice. Super creamy and delicious and the chicken just melted in your mouth. And finally we tried the Masala Elote Pizza, palak pizza, and pepperoni pizza. All were delicious but the masala elote was our favorite! So many delicious flavors and textures on this pizza my taste buds were very happy! We washed everything down with freshly made mango lassis! So delish! I would highly recommend this restaurant to all my friends and family!“

“Food was wonderful! Had the lamb chop and it was awesome! Got medium spice which was plenty! Nice vibe here. Music was cool. Highly recommend making a reservation as the only seat at the bar area was only open for 30 minutes. I will definitely come back here! Don't recommend sitting at last seat by bar as I got bumped in to a few times. Excellent menu!!“

“This place was book-marked, on my radar, and then recommended by Pakistani friends so I figured it was a no-brainer. We were somewhat in the area and decided to make the trek to Devon to check it out. We got lucky in that we were seated at the last open table. It took a little bit for the staff to realize we needed a waitress but once that happened it was smooth sailing. The samosas were excellent to kick things off. Then the chicken tikka - which I saw another table order - was on the top of the list for me and didn't disappoint. And finally the Highway Paneer was very good but a little too spicy for the girls. Of course, I could have eaten their naan all day long. Very good food. Nice atmosphere. Excellent option if you are in the area.“

“Food was delicious and our waiter (Jaden) was friendly and attentive. We had the samosas to start, the fish basant, chicken makhani (my personal fav), and the side of yellow dal. Desert of the cheesecake was great as well. Plenty of left overs between 2 people. Will definitely be back!“

“Absolutely phenomenal south Indian food. We came in to dine in but had to get it to-go due to an emergency. The staff was super accommodating and the Veg Thali (sampler platter) was absolutely divine. My friends got the Mutton Thali and Chicken Thali and said it is some of the best food they've had in Chicago. Spice level is definitely on the hotter side of restaurants I've been to but that made for a great meal. Incredibly affordable too. At ~$15 per person and plenty of tasty leftovers that keep well, I'll definitely be making a point to return soon.“

“Hidden gem of Old Town!! I drive by this spot on the way to/from work and always see cars out front - finally stopped in last night and can see why. First of all, the place was filled at midnight with repeat customers which was a great sign. I was a little skeptical when I saw the prices on the menu as it was much more expensive than I expect from a counter serve restaurant, but when I tasted the food, I completely understood why. We had the daily special, the goat biryani, which was loaded with fall off the bone tender meat, flavorful sauce, and rice that was perfectly cooked. Our take out box was packed to the brim and we were easily able to split that meal into multiple leftover meals. I thought I may have just been extremely hungry the night before but even eating the leftovers today, I was blown away by the flavor. One of the best dishes that I've had. Not a fancy place at all, but everyone was friendly and they do have seating available if you want to eat in. Would highly recommend!“

“This is a great option when you’re craving Indian food but don’t want to pay for a huge portion. I told the cashier it was my first time and she threw in a few samosas and sauces for me to try - they were crispy, fluffy, and perfect. I also ordered a chicken tikka wrap with rice and onions. It was absolutely delicious. I will be returning soon!“

“Small, quiet place with excellent food. I had a chicken chilli Marsala, tandoori naan, and Indian tea. It came out piping hot with enough food for leftovers (guess what I'm having for dinner?!). Clean place, good service. The only challenge is parking. In the heart of Little India, so lots of shopping nearby.“

“The food was really good. We got the Paneer tiki masala which was amazing and the butter chicken. The chicken was really good and not tough. The atmosphere was nice. The menu was not very clean and our table was also not the cleanest, the cloth had a food stain on it when we sat down. Everything else though was clean as well as the bathrooms. I would definitely eat here again.“

The sauces the chef gave were good but the shawarma was so good, it did not really need any sauces. It is important to me that the restaurant was HMS certified. “I went here last night to celebrate my Mother's Birthday. Our servers were Aanand and Sudeep, and I met the owner Vinod as well. The service was great, and so was the food. We had a nice time here. Only recommendations I have:They did not do any Birthday specials, which is typical for many restaurants. There was only 1 bathroom for such a large number of customers. Please to include more bathrooms and hand washing stations when remodeling.Dietary restrictions: Keto options available.Parking: Parking is free for 3 hours.“

“Drove from Indianapolis, on a friend's recommendation. Trust me the time getting there and the money spend was all worth it. Very nice decor, clean restaurant, friendly staff but the food was the main STAR, succulent tender meat doused in flavorful meaty gravy, steaming hot naan bread and one of the best laccha paratha. I have been a great fan of Sabri'e Nihari but Ali bahi's NIHARI takes the cake, a million miles ahead when it comes to flavor, tenderness of the meat, and the portion size just was an amazing experience enjoying the meal. “This is my 4th time dining at this restaurant. When you’re here you’re getting an anthemic Indian cuisine experience. Their Boba is just the cherry on top! The staff know what they’re doing. To the DESI COMMUNITY please respect this establishment as a well ran business and don’t treat it like your aunty’ s house!!! Wait to be seated and be patient when they’re understaffed. This business is thriving and i wasn’t to see it stay! p.s. my one feedback is to bring in some warm lighting. The lights are too bright, softer lighting would be appreciated so you can comfortably eat with your hands. thank you.“

“This place makes good bhatura (bhatoora). The "chana masala" they have on menu which typically goes with the bhatura is not the typical chole bhature style chole. The chana masala has chana with some other vegetables in it, kind of like how paneer masala is made. Just be aware of this. I would recommend that the owners probably consider changing the chana masala to just chana.Otherwise the bhatura was very well made, ONE OF THE BEST that I have seen in a while. Big in size and just perfectly made. Not too crips and not too soft, just perfect.Parking: The street in front has lots of parking available. You can look a satellite image of this location, plenty of parking available right in front of the store.“
