“My Wife and I go to O'Sullivan's for dinner pretty regularly. Sometimes it is very busy but the service is always good. We like the food, they have a soup de jour which is usually very good and they have specials every day. The prices are reasonable and the bar tender always makes a great Manhattan. They have a great selection of beer, If there is a popular sporting event on television it is very crowded, but we have never had much of a wait for a table or for service.“
“The food was very good. My complaint with this place is the server. She seems like we interrupted her day every time we have walked in. Sadly the restaurant is across the street from one of the largest bulk mail centers in the Midwest. We are going to be very pressed on coming back because of the childless behavior of the server. We would talk the place up to our fellow employees but with this lady it’s hard to.“
“This place has a cool, hip vibe and it’s fun to eat at the communal tables. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great variety of beer and creative craft cocktails. Food is beautifully plated and delicious - make sure to try the potatoes, baby gem salad and hanger steak.“
“Love Kasama! I’ve been back each time I visit the city and the breakfast is banging. I know the sandwich + hash-brown is iconic and a must try but their other food is equally as delicious. Would highly recommend ordering online to skip the line if you don’t plan to eat inside.“
“I had another fantastic experience here. Every dish was delicious, and Emily provided exceptional service. The drinks were truly phenomenal. Overall, my experience at this place is consistently excellent. The music adds to the enjoyable atmosphere, and the service is always top-notch.“
“Went here for Burnch on a Sunday. It is first come first serve so had to wait a little over an hour. Roamed a bit around the neighborhood as every area of the city has its own charm.Plenty of street parking or can always park in the near by garage.Ordered the classic lulu breakfast burrito, chickpea and fennel tagine and a smoked trout scramble. I would say the Chickpea and fennel tagine was awesome and a must on every visit.Parking: Parking spots near by and then paid garage couple of blocks awayKid-friendliness: Yes great with kids“
“I haven’t been impressed with Italian food here in Chicago until now. This place is seriously good. The appetizers recommended by our server were outstanding. Superb flavors. Handmade pasta dishes were very, very good. The final course of pork collar was phenomenal. I would definitely recommend this place over others.“
“Updated review, still a very solid cocktail bar even if the rules on cell phones and dress code have gotten a bit lax over the years.Menu all around is good and the bar tenders are very knowledgeable. Space overall is pretty quiet and arranged in such a way that things feel very private.Worth stopping by at least onceLook for the recessed door, you could walk by without ever knowing it's there!“
“Gather is CONSISTENTLY fantastic. I’ve been 5+ times over the last year or two and have never had a bad experience. Tonight, they were able to fit us in for a celebration dinner - they’re so accommodating and the menu options change seasonally, but every option has been consistently delicious. The atmosphere is fantastic, warm, and inviting. Everyone who works here is friendly and helpful. They’ve been so accommodating of allergies and dietary restrictions. Will always recommend Gather.“
“We loved our experience at Giant! We’ve been wanting to eat here for a while and thought what better time than to go out for my birthday. My wife and I can’t say enough great things about the food, our server Bailey and the whole experience. Bailey was the best server ever! We love her and will definitely be back.“
“I came here with a group of girlfriends and Brian was an amazing server. He gave us great suggestions for the appetizers and entrees. Uli the bartender made us some delicious cocktails. We are coming back. Thank you brain and uli for an amazing experience!“
“Eden, located in Chicago, provided a delightful dining experience for my first visit. Arriving late allowed us to secure a table swiftly. I indulged in a couple of dirty martinis to kickstart the evening, accompanied by the exquisite wagyu tartare, which left my taste buds thoroughly satisfied. For the main course, I opted for the crab bucatini, savoring each delectable bite, while my companion thoroughly enjoyed the flavorful chicken dish. The service was exemplary, and the restaurant exuded cleanliness, with the added luxury of real hand towels in the bathrooms, a detail not often found. The ambiance, with its well-thought-out lighting and decor, further elevated the experience. Overall, Eden offered a memorable dining venture, leaving me eager to return for another culinary adventure.“
“A not so hidden gem as of late now that reviews are catching up with the imaginative menu and exceptional dining experience Community Tavern has been consistently providing over the past several years. Menu is full of unique dishes… elevated dumpling and noodles are a signature. Beautifully plated and generous- but not overly. Cocktail menu is fun, with zero proof options that are spot on. Save room for baked Alaska. Oh, and ambiance is chic but allows the focus to be where it belongs. On the food. Upscale West Loop experience in modest Portage Park for a lot less and no pretense.“
“My wife and I have never been to a Michelin star restaurant and now that we live in Chicago, we had plenty of options. For our second baby moon we decided to treat ourselves to an experience at El Ideas. The whole experience was amazing! The location is really unassuming and not in some pretentious building or area. It was such a laid back yet exquisite experience. Guests were allowed to wonder the space and take in the food preparation. You could ask questions of the chefs. It was really neat and nothing like I've ever experienced. Since there are a limited number of reservations the entire staff is really attune to guests needs. I have no complaints about any of the dishes. Some of the standout dishes were the shrimp dish which was an ode to the history of Chicago fried shrimp. The Swedish style meatball cooked in smoked beef tallow with gnocchi was so well balanced. The smoked duck bahn mi and smoke duck pho was amazing . The Lamb dish was out of this world! I'm still in awe of the vanilla shake and fries dessert. It was truly a work of art. The vanilla with the crunchy potato bits and potato and leak soup just worked. I could take one of those every day. This experience is definitely worth it! I hope to be back in the future!“
“TL;DR - If you’re even slightly thinking about coming here, just do it. Revolution has the best beer in the city, fantastic food, and incredible staff.A lot of breweries in Chicago excel in making their one or two specialty styles of beer, and that’s it. Revolution, on the other hand, is able to guarantee high quality and incredibly drinkable beer across just about every style you can think of. I normally hate those dark, boozy, 15+% ABV beers, yet I drink every single one that Rev puts out and I love it. Their “Hero”-series IPAs will make even the biggest IPA hater second guess their hatred. And their sours (usually released during the summer) are so good, you will question how something this good can be alcoholic. Revolution doesn’t put out a beer that isn’t incredible, so you can pick a beer at random and be sure to enjoy it.Recently, the Brewpub renovated their space and, with it, re-did a lot of their menu. The space is cozy, yet upscale (the seating is significantly comfier than it once was with new plush seating). The new food is also really high quality - much higher than you would expect from a brewery. A lot of detail is put into plating and presentation (Mushrooms & Tofu, for example, looks like a piece of art), and still it tastes somehow even better than it looks. In addition to more upscale menu items, you’re also able to get a lot of that “typical” bar food here that fully delivers (pretzel, cheese curds, fries, etc.). The only gripe I could possibly have here is on the pricing of some of the food. This does not apply to the whole menu though, just some items that feel like they are priced higher than they should be (e.g. Lion’s Mane mushrooms, a starter, costs the same as the Mushrooms & Tofu, an entree, despite being significantly less food and sharing some similar ingredients. Why?!). If you can view this less as a bar and more like a nicer restaurant (which, with the renovation completed, is easy to do), then the pricing is a lot more palatable. The ambiance, food, and drinks are all great, but it’s the staff at Revolution that keeps me coming back though. They’re all so friendly, personable, passionate, and professional - they are the kind of people that make your night out feel special. My fiancé and I have celebrated birthdays, engagements, job offers, anniversaries, and so much more here because of how wonderful the staff are in celebrating and creating such a fun environment to be in. They make Revolution a place we want to go whenever we want to have a good time out. There are just too many people to name (Magnolia, Drake, Erwin, Makenna, Amy, Matt, just to name a few) - but rest assured that we love just about everyone who has served us here. So much so, that my fiancé and I are getting married here later this year! This is the easiest 5 stars I have ever handed out. I have so little to say about places that are “meh”, so the length of this review should show how much I love it here. I’ve come here at least every week for the last 2+ years, and I don’t have any intention of slowing down anytime soon. If you’re still reading this, please stop reading and start drinking, and do it at the Brewpub! You won’t regret it!Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options here. Standouts include the veggie burger (vegan by default), Mushrooms & Tofu (vegan), and a delicious pretzel with beer cheese (vegetarian and oh so good).“
“Small restaurant with modern american decor. Street parking around the area. The staff were amazing and so nice, knowledgeable about the food and drinks. We did the tasting menu with the spirit free pairing. I thought the food portions were acceptable. The appetizers were great as were the desserts. The drinks were great too. Although there were multiple savory courses, my friends and I thought it was still lacking. Overall a great night still.“
“This is a wonderful restaurant. The food is good, service excellent, and atmosphere nice. I had dinner here and they had a new spring menu. My only complaint is that the food menu is a little limited; I would have expected more options. I had the salmon, which was very good, and paired with an appetizer of the crab cake. Finally, the wine selection is more than sufficient.Parking: Parking is not an issue: plenty of space and easy to find.“
“Some of the best grilled seafood in the city and that's saying something. Top 2 in the city along with Dees" IMO. Very seasoned without being salty. My guess is garlic. Crabs are my go-to. The corn, potatoes, and turkey necks are all tasty too.“
“I recently visited Volo Wine Bar and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! The ambiance of the patio was simply amazing, providing a perfect setting to enjoy a glass of wine. The happy hour deals were fantastic, offering a wide selection of wines at great prices. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, making the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend Volo Wine Bar for anyone looking for a cozy and inviting spot to unwind and enjoy quality wine. A definite 5-star experience!“
“A latin style brunch place with delicious food. Chilaquiles are spicy, hearty. The rice and black beans are good, also different compared to most Mexican restaurants. The maduros and orange slice cuts are notable and unique. Also, don't confuse the leafs 'veins' for a hair, as I freaked out pulling one from the eggs. Restaurant decor is modern, food was ready quick, and the server was nice This place also serves pumpkin spice coffee year round.“
“I went to Mother's Ruin with a group of my coworkers, and Keith the bartender took the best care of us. He really made all of our nights special. I have also gone to Mother's Ruin for my birthday and graduation, and each time the service is always spectacular. I can't recommend this place enough! I highly recommend the nachos, and the specialty cocktails they have are all delicious.“
“Oh ATN, you have turned my husband and I into bad people. We bought snacks for the weekend and they looked so good we dug into them tonight. The smoked trout and meat and cheese tray are absolutely amazing! I've never had anything there that wasn't top notch. I'm looking forward to the day we can enjoy the ambiance again.“
“Since moving to Cicero in 2020 this has been our spot. Food is always on point, service is super friendly and they have an outdoor patio that we can bring our pup pup.Vegetarian options: There's always something vegan or vegetarian friendly.“
“The first thing that I noticed about Amerikas was the super lively and bright ambiance. I went I on a Saturday night with my wife, so I wasn't surprised by all of the people dining and having a good time, and as I ate my dinner I definitely learned why. The decor is bright and fun. The walls are lined by mutuals, mostly yellow, with big splashes of color. I liked how then kept the lights on to keep the atmosphere bright and fun. The food was delicious too. My wife and ordered the pulpo, barbacoa, tacos (shrimp and pork shoulder), tostada de pescado, ceviche and the dragon fruit cheesecake for dessert. I enjoyed all of the dishes, my favorites were the barbacoa and the pulpo. The barbacoa was super flavorful and fell right off the bone, no knife was need. The pulpo was cooked to perfection and was tender and delicious. The risk with pulpo is that it can be chewy and tough, definitely not the case here. One note, the tostada for the tostada de pescado seem a bit too dry, but the flavor of fresh seafood made up for it. If you want a fun show with your food, order the ceviche, it comes out with a cool smoke effect. Overall, the service was fast and friendly, and the overall experience at the restaurant was enjoyable. While they don't have a parking lot, street parking is cheap (at least compared to Chicago) and plentiful. Amerikas is a must visit in Oak Park.“
“Everything about this place has a classic feel, but not like a played-out classic. It's more nostalgic with a twist. The food has an old-school feel that will make your inner child sing while satisfying your adult taste buds and sensibilities. The product is consistently delicious. Pop in if you're in the neighborhood.“
“Service was great even though we came 10 minutes before closing, additionally we got absolutely great recommendations from supporting staff. The drinks were superb. Food was delicious. Favorite was the octopus! -Overhead lighting was a minus though. Bring sunglasses.“
“Every time I am in Chicago, I try to make it to the Bongo Room for an amazing brunch. I was disappointed to find out that their other location closed but happy that this location was still open on my last trip. They service was excellent. I got the French toast, and it was delicious as always. I always have a consistently good meal from this place and can't wait to eat there again.“
“Wow, this place is AMAZING? Great service, hopping atmosphere, and every single one of our dishes were delicious. We will be making this establishment a regular breakfast place during our Chicago visits! Food ordered was: Breakfast burrito Croissant Sandwich Buttermilk pancakes with a side of crispy bacon!“

“Attended the Mondavi wine tasting event at Topaz. The food paired beautifully with the wines. Our entire table agreed that the short rib and smoked butternut squash dish was simply delightful. We kicked off our meal with the Salmon Tartare, a light yet flavorful starter that left me wanting more. The Mahi Mahi, with its coconut curry, was rich and satisfying--I'm crossing my fingers that it becomes a permanent menu item. And the pappardelle with lamb ragu tasted like it was made fresh to order. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience, and I can't wait to return.“
“I was a little disappointed in my fries that came with my delicious chicken tenders!! My husband was a little disappointed with the fish fry where the batter was very hard. 2 times out of the 4 times I've been to Grill 89 I got delicious crispy hot fries.“
“My wife and I went to Scofflaw on a Saturday night to celebrate a birthday and had a great time. The food was delicious and the gin drinks we had were phenomenal, as gin lovers this place is awesome. The staff was so friendly throughout the evening as well, we will definitely be back!“
“I would highly recommend fourteensixteen as it is by far the best restaurant in lagrange. The staff are amazing, the vibes are on point, and the location itself presents itself well. I got the pistachio covered lamb rack when I last went, and it was phenomenal. The dish held up well, the lamb was moist, and the sauces complimented the lamb perfectly. I also had the mango cheesecake, and I can still remember how perfect the cheesecake was. It was a perfect amount of cheesecake flavor to mango flavor. I would highly highly recommend this restaurant as I have yet to see a better one in the surrounding area.“
“Located in the Rose Hotel, same proximity as Dave and Buster’s and Trulucks. If the parking is full, just park in the huge parking lot across the street by Dave and Buster’s. When you walk into the hotel, the Thorn restaurant is to your right. The vibe is semi classy and intimate. It can also be a casual place to hang out, eat, and watch tv. Service was fantastic, they really take care of you over here. Prices are reasonable given the atmosphere. I had shrimp tacos, hemp hummus, and the Westcoast smasher burger. Pro tip: when you check in on Yelp, you get the hemp hummus for free. It was big enough to share with two other people.-shrimp tacos 5 - these are good sized tacos. Easily shareable. The shrimp pieces were fresh and juicy. Shells were soft. Avocado pieces were large chunks. The corn tortilla chips were crunchy and did not break easily.-hemp hummus 5 - fresh ingredients and warm naan. Very light appetizer.-Westcoast smasher 5 - ordered it medium and it came out perfect. It’s a very clean burger. Your hands don’t get oily or greasy. Meat practically melts in every bite. Special sauce amplifies the flavor. French fries were crispy and they’re on the thinner side. Well seasoned.“
“My first visit there. Saw promo on TV. However, I was not aware that there was a cover charge. I assume coverage for the live entertainment. I enjoyed both the Irish band music and the Trinity Children Dancers. The food was right on point! Authentic Irish corn beef/cabbage. It was a bit crowded and noisy, but that was to be expected--it was St. Patrick's Day!“
“Inspirations Kitchens is wonderful! Food is delicious and everyone we met on the staff was so friendly and helpful. Definitely a new favorite for a chill weekend brunch.Took a few tries to find the place, but so worth it when we did. (You want to turn into the parking lot off Lake.)Vegetarian options: Small menu with good options so you’re not overwhelmed.Parking: Free parking lot that you enter off Lake.“
“This was my first time at this location and it was phenomenal. The ambiance feels inviting, warm, personal and touch of “home”. It felt like I was having lunch at my house. The food was very tasteful and well seasoned. I am one of those people that usually go with the “hamburger” or “chicken strips” because I am scared to try other foods. I ordered the red beans and rice with sausage and shrimp skewer. It was very delicious. The service was excellent.“
“We had a delicious takeout brunch. The steak and eggs were so flavorful and the chilaquiles were exactly how I like them. The cinnamon roll was an extra special treat. The food tasted just as good as in the restaurant. A great option for takeout!“
“Took the family out for Sunday breakfast and we were excited to visit this spot. I was looking forward to the Llpingacho Benedict, which I was so curious about. The flavor was very good and unique with the potato cakes and grilled tomatoes. Surprisingly, the most tasty item we had were the pancakes. My son ordered the oreo pancakes and I had a bite of it. I was floored by the rich taste and texture of the pancakes. I'd return just for those. Before ending this post, I cannot forget to mention that they have outstanding service and hospitality. Check this spot out, you won't be disappointed.“
“Another great find. Adding Tuman's Tap to my Favorites list. Great bourbon selection and reasonable prices per pour. Pappy 10,12 &23. And many other good whiskeys. The food is also great. Fun staff! Recommend it ?Parking: Pay parking on main St. Other free parking near side streets.“
“The food was delicious and so fresh! The country fried steak was a little salty but overall delicious! Everything was fairly priced. The server was so friendly and kind. Very attentive as well and they served the food exactly how we asked for it. We will definitely dine in again.“
“Not the first time I’ve been to this restaurant, but first time for dinner as I usually join coworkers for lunch. Kind of a different experience as far as entrée sizes and prices. For lunch I feel it’s a moderately good deal but for dinner I was a little surprised at the portion size compared to the price, we did enjoy all of our dishes but having a hard time with the value. The charred cauliflower appetizer was tasty but small portion for over $12. The lasagna Bolognese made with a chicken sausage was equivalent of two large raviolis stacked on top of each other. For $20 I would expect a bigger portion. Overall a higher rating due to the ambience of the restaurant and service was good.“
“While unassuming and a little out of the way, there's nothing better than a restaurant/bar with a small town feel, cheap drinks, and an interesting menu. The bartenders were easygoing and helpful, the other patrons were very chill, and we were able to find our own spot and enjoy the day. We went on a Saturday afternoon/evening and had an excellent time.“
“This restaurant is a delightful surprise! Great food, with a somewhat tongue-in-cheek sense of humor that is awesome. I have eaten in many fantastic restaurants in my life, and Claudia ranks amongst the best. The food is imaginative and delicious, the service is impeccable, and the atmosphere serene. It deserves more than the one Michelin star it has been awarded.Their cocktail program is second to none. They apparently always have a theme. Currently it is Sherlock Holmes. The drinks all have components based on Sherlock Holmes stories. It is creative, fun, and the cocktails delicious. I had The Sign of the Four, with oyster infused gin, lemon, jackfruit, sherry, rosemary, and Szechwan peppercorns. This drink was perfect: balanced, complex, and yummy. The Hound of the Baskervilles gets set on a glowing base. Truly Great Cocktails! The first course was served in a bento box. There was a squid ink madeline, a potato fritter like thing topped with caviar, a crispy cracker with yummy toppings, and tuna stuffed with foie gras. The last was so delicious, I could have a plate of just that. Next up was a dish based on asparagus. It was plated beautifully, with egg yolk jam, caviar, and a foamy goodness on the side.Course three was a torchon of foie gras served with pistachio and gooseberry. Stunningly delicious!I got a huge kick out of the snails in the woods, beautifully plated with flowers, and in shades of"Always be My Maybe", a recording of birds songs on a player with headphones! Too funny! After an intermezzo of cucumber, ginger, sake, and lime, came quail with pickled ramps served on the most beautiful plates you have ever seen. The turbot of the next course was served with a beautiful morel and perfectly cooked.Maybe my favorite course was the lobster, served with a complex mixture of "granola", peas, carrots and a delicious sauce. So good! The final savory course was rabbit presse and loin served with fiddlehead fern and a consomme that they infuse at your table. So, yes, lots of theater, but the food and service is just impeccable.Followed were two desserts. The first was a riff on a negroni, with all sorts of interesting textures of mousses and gelees. The final dessert was yogurt sorbet, served with a berry "consomme" and little tuffs of cake. Light and lovely, and a great end to a great meal. It was a perfect Spring menu. The wine pairings were very interesting.I cannot say enough about both the excellence of the service and the food. Truly a great restaurant.“
““Krave Restaurant in Bridgeview is an absolute gem! From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality. The ambiance is cozy and inviting, perfect for a meal with friends or a romantic dinner. The food was exceptional, with each dish bursting with flavor and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring that every aspect of our dining experience was top-notch. I highly recommend krave Restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Bridgeview. Five stars all the way!”“
“As always, Chef Paul’s restaurants are right on point. Katherine and I collectively have been to Vistro (Prime) a few times . . . and the food, craft cocktails, and atmosphere make for an excellent social and culinary experience. It was wonderful to see Patrick doing the Mixology while the other restaurant is in process of opening apparently this spring. This time around, Katherine and I stopped by for a craft cocktail, and we ended up enjoying the happy hour oysters that were very good.I have never offered a single suggested critique of Vie or Vistro. The only request I have is for the manager of Vistro Prime is to check the barstools at the bar.My barstool was wobbly, and it likely/ simply needs to be tightened up. I’m a handy person and have constructed and repaired barstools; so possibly, the hardware for some of your barstools needs to be tightened up and or repaired. They are beautiful barstools!Other than that, I completely recommend Vistro Prime to every and anyone that receives this review and all my friends and family as always!“
“Local bar that we walked to to get a few drinks on st Patrick's day. The specials were nice but we ended up getting some Guinness and car bombs. I got to try malort for the first time (not really a fan) prices were fine. The bartender was friendly and attentive. Wasn't too crowded. Had video poker inside which is something I'm not used to due to not being from the Midwest. I'd swing by and get some drinks here again“
“Hands down the best slider trio I have ever had. Regular cheeseburger was terrific. Buffalo chicken with blue cheese was outstanding. But the winner was the pot roast slider. Wow. Tons of flavor and very juicy. We had never been to down Elmhurst and decided to try this gem. We will be back!!!“
“Beers were great as expected. We were not impressed with the nachos. The meat was tasteless and hard to separate so lots of meat in a bite or no meat. The cheese sauce had a nice wang to it and chips were ok. Will try something different next time.“
“Its a great restaurant, been here many of times, upon my last visit our waitress was an older white woman with bleached blond hair! She was mad because the customers were done eating but hadn't gotten up from the table! Complaining about she's tired and ready to go home. I thought it was unprofessional! And!!!!! She didn't even get our order correct. I enjoy the restaurant, but I definitely don't want her to serve me anymore!“
