“I had heard a ton about this place and was excited to go. Wait time on a Friday was surprisingly short. Restaurant was busy but not loud. Seating was comfortable. The fried gyoza were a bit limp. They needed a little bit more time in the pan to crisp up the wrapper. The steak was awesome, great quality, lightly seared, fantastic sauce on a bed of micro greens and tomatoes. The sake refresher was tasty. The Tokyo white beer was very good and easy to drink. A great pairing for the meal.We got the monster ramen and the vegetarian miso ramen. It was good. The monster ramen had kind of a sweetness to it which was kind of odd but not unenjoyable. The chili oil is definitely worth the add on. The miso was a bit light, but very good. For desert, jenivees makes their cupcakes. The matcha yuzu cupcake was good, but a little strong on yuzu. But it didn't hold a candle to the ube with young coconut. Probably the best cupcake I've ever had.“
“Hands down one of the best restaurants in Chicago to start. The food is fantastic and is so consistent. Star of the show is fried chicken skins. So crispy and the sauce is bangin. I like to get the Viet dip which is like a healthy version of an Italian beef. Instead of gravy you get to dip your sando in some pho. The crispy wings and beef dumplings are also amazing. In terms of the atmosphere it’s a vibe for sure. They’ve got dope drinks and vanilla turtle chips to go. If you’re not an early 2000s hip hop fan maybe opt for pick up or delivery. If you can name all members of the Wu-Tang Clan then you’ll love the cozy dining area with a solid mantra glowing in neon: SEND NOODS. My new Friday lunch spot on repeat. Check it out ?“
“Jess and the rest of the team are ALWAYS so kind to my friends and I! Jess especially always goes above and beyond with customer service - offers on the house treats and always tries to accommodate the best seat in the place for me. The food is SO good. I love the smoked tofu fried rice, the daly bird, and the peanut butter miso mochi. Will always come back :-)Vegetarian options: Smoked Tofu Fried Rice (is vegan)Chili Peanut Noodles (vegan)Peanut Butter Miso Mochi (vegan)Dietary restrictions: Vegan!“
“Clean modern place right next to Home Depot . It's not some dark worn out place . Decor is crisp !Loved that the menu is short and it is an open kitchen- you can see all the cooks. They all wore gloves and masks ! Way to go !We had spring rolls , crispy wings in peanut sauce , beef pho and spicy beef noodle . Yum yum ! They also have daily specials that I noticed only when leaving. Those specials sounded better than the regular menu .This is going to be my weekly spot !“
“Have had takeout twice now. Once during the week and once on a Friday. Both times the food was ready for pickup in 15-20 minutes, the food was HOT, and the portions were very generous. The Kung Pao Shrimp and Orange Chicken were excellent. I also ordered the Hawaiian Shrimp. They don’t skimp on the Shrimp. You get a good amount of good sized shrimp. We’ll keep coming back to Shang, for sure.“
“We live very close by and were so excited to discover we have one of the tastiest Thai spots in the city within walking distance. Only give the atmosphere 4 stars because it's a teeny tiny restaurant but it's comfortable and when the weather is nice, their patio is cute! But we typically do takeout since it's so easy and close by. The owners and everyone who works there has always been friendly and kind. Highly recommend.Vegetarian options: Many dishes - noodles and curry - offer a selection for the type of protein so many can be made vegetarian with choosing the option of either tofu or just vegetables.Kid-friendliness: Friendly and allowing of children. My 3 year old daughter loves the chicken satay!“
“I had no idea this was up the street from me. Aroi Mahk! The ingredients are really fresh and no weird additives, just good fresh Thai seasonings and flavors. I tried the Tom Kha and it was rich and delicious, all the protein and vegetables perfectly tender. The spicy basil is phet nit noy (just kidding, it's phet mahk but aroi mahk!). Looking forward to making this a regular stop for dinner now I know it exists.“
“My family, friends, and me have been coming here for about 2 years! We come here for our birthdays, celebrations, and just to find comfort, good food, and a sense of home.Armstrong is such a kind person and is always asking about our lives, and has such an intentional way of owning this restaurant. The food in itself is always so tasty and flavorful. I always recommend this place to my friends and family, as well as my clients for my job!Me and my two roommates come here when we’re happy or sad and we always leave better than how we came - Armstrong has become a dear friend to us and I can’t wait to continue our memories here!“
“Absolutely amazing. I was blown away by the flavor. Like no other Thai food that I have experienced. Beyond 5 stars. I was spellbound. If you like Thai food, you need to give this place a try. It's a shame I don't live in Chicago, because I find myself daydreaming about it and wanting to fly across a quarter of the country JUST to eat here!“
“First time ordering and it was decent. The veggie egg roll were good but the sauce was thin and watery. The fried pot stickers were good. The paid Thai was what you would expect and the fried rice was good. I will try again and try other things too.“
“We ordered the food to go. It took about 15 mins after we placed our order. The parking situation is standard for DT Oak Park. The inside of the restaurant is so nice, warm and welcoming -- we'll be coming here to dine in soon. The staff were super attentive and hospitable. We had;Tom ka (coconut soup) with chicken and Steamed rice. One spicy one mild. They marked the spicy order (much appreciated)Crab ragooMango sticky rice.Everything we had was so delicious and it hit right! The spice in the soup was perfect.I recommend for a yummy Thai restaurant!“
“The atmosphere is old school Thai restaurant , with framed travel posters and Christmas decorations. I enjoy that kind of atmosphere in a Thai restaurant because it helps me feel like I’m getting the real article- I am not into a place that looks super fancy and serves small portions that have a lot of sugar in them. Thai food here was ample and spicy! Nathan’s Noodles serves authentic Thai food- all of the classics- and has been around a while in Elmhurst. Most of the customers order take out and don’t dine in, but they may have just been the time we were there. There was a steady stream of customers and delivery drivers picking up orders, so that’s always a good thing! The food was delicious and the portions were large. The service was great.Parking: Strip mall with easy parking.“
“Guaranteed to be the best Chinese restaurant in town. The owner is constantly buying fresh ingredients to insure the best quality.I've lived in China and this place definitely can have the authentic taste.Asian kitchen Express has vegan, and vegetarian options which a lot of other restaurants will not want to provide. Everything is made to orderVegetarian options: Veggies, tofu in every way you imagine“
“New spot in the neighborhood! Restaurant’s decor is simple yet very roomy, an ideal spot for those who dislike to be enclosed or squished. It’s family owned restaurant so the atmosphere was very comfortably and quiet.Food was phenomenal, fresh and delicious! But most importantly reasonable priced. The service was friendly and fast. We had Pho and broth was rich and aromatic filled with lots of toppings. We also had Bo La Lot which was beautifully presented. Then we also had Bun Cha Ha Noi, amazing and authentic. Bun bo hue was delicious. I can say that all dishes taste great. It’s must try restaurant!“
“So far this is my favorite sushi place in Chicago. The food is phenomenal and reasonably priced. The service is fantastic as well. One small thing: every now and then I’ll get a plate with some very pretty artwork on it made from the sauce. I don’t always get it, but I really appreciate whoever is taking the time to make it!“
“Such delicious food and outstanding customer service! I submitted an online order for a work event and accidentally put in some of the wrong info. Even though it was totally my mistake, the staff at Katy's very generously helped me fix the issue and get the order in on time. They totally saved the day and our lunch went on without a hitch. We will certainly be coming back!!“
“This is such a hidden gem the best pho I've had in Chicago hands down! The food is just amazing I get the P1 pho the broth is full of flavor! If you have a chance check it out and the service is always top notch always friendly and kind“
“It's been well almost a decade since my last visit ! Well worth trying ! It was extremely busy for a Sunday evening early dinner time (4-6ish). Extensive menu but would highly recommend and suggest trying their signature dishes listed on their glass wall inside. I really enjoy their BBQ pork dishes ESPECIALLY their CHOW FUN. Their noodles are very similar to Lad Nar in the sense they are crispy and soft all at the same time! (Hard and then soft when dipped in sauce) VERY tasty and unique !Service was attentive as well. Solid and strong B+. It's extremely hole in the wall and only by word- of -mouth!“
“This place is absolutely delicious!! Had the Mentai Cream Sauce Udon and it was BOMB -- I loved it. At first glace, it looks basic but it is extremely flavorful and the garnishes (green onions, sprouts, cheese, tempura bits) added to the dish well. It was creamy but not too heavy. I would order extra udon next time to soak up the leftover sauce.“
“I used to live in Oak Park for 5 years and this was our go-to place. Amazing food and great service. The noodle soups are the best soup in OP, hands down! I've tried both the beef and chicken and equally great. Everything I'm back in the area, this is a must-go!!!“
“Part 5 of 5 Memorial Day weekend APIHM series.I came especially for their not-so-stinky tofu. For those who are not familiar, it is deep-fried fermented tofu topped with spicy sauce and Szechuan pickled cabbage. Although it is not stinky as it should be, I enjoyed it nevertheless. The beef tendon noodle soup with handmade noodles was aromatic and delicious. We also tried the spicy seafood udon noodle soup which was equally tasty. They offer weekend breakfasts such as soy milk, youtian (Chinese fried dough), congee, and soybean jello just to name a few. You can also purchase a variety of frozen dumplings (50 pc) to cook at home.Service was friendly and swift considering the number of customers they have. The little boy at the register offered to pack the noodle and soup separately for my long trip home. Now, that's what I call customer service. Nicely done, young man!“
“An absolute gem! Siam's House Thai Restaurant offers an exceptional lunch buffet from 11AM-3PM for just $18.95 per person. The food is not only fresh but also made to order, providing a delightful array of flavors. The egg rolls, potstickers, papaya salad, Thai fried rice, drunken noodles, and spicy basil leaf dishes were all incredibly delicious. The option to choose between watermelon or oranges is a refreshing touch. Moreover, the opportunity to add $5 for unlimited curry is an outstanding deal. The value for the quality and quantity of food is unmatched. I highly recommend Siam's House for an outstanding dining experience! Great Vegetarian options! Can even ask for everything to be vegetarian too! Much better since the last set ups since they make everything fresh!!!“
“The food is always delicious. They offer so much more than the traditional orange chicken. We try to get a new item every time we order, and we have yet to be disappointed in the menu offerings. The delivery is speedy. It's a great local spot.“
“This is a great place for maki rolls... The service was very good. I love the fact you ordered your food and it came to the table fresh, great concept for buffet. Abit of advice go hungry and with more the 2 people for the buffet. Going back soon to try other foods for sure.“
