“Stopped in after a wake down the street. Cool old space, beautiful spaces around outside, and is right along the river. Staff was friendly but not super on top of it. It was a weird night for all of us though so chalking that up to just a day. Rueben was good and balanced well, but could have had a bit more on it. Fries were really good. Husband and sister god wraps and said they were decent. Overall, a lovely space with decent food. Would be a good place to have a hang and chill with a cocktail.Kid-friendliness: As long as not seated at the bar, kids are allowed.“
“Omg this place is so much fun! Andrea is super nice and helpful. She helped us with our form so we could actually get the axes to stick to the wall. A fun bonus is that you get ninja stars and metal cards (think of X-Men Gambit cards) so you can live out your childhood fantasies. Would definitely recommend this place.“
“We are a family of 4, we weren't sure if a restaurant without Kids Menu was a good option for us. But our girls (6 and 13) loved every dish they tried. It was a delicious experience and we definitely are coming back. Sonny was a great host, gave us recommendations and he just got us. We tried Meat paella, Beed meatballs, charcuterie, chicken a la giardiniera. We cannot wait to enjoy Al Fresco when the weather gets warmer.“

The oysters were superb, and the chef graciously provided off-menu options for my vegetarian wife. Our server was outstanding, and the bar drinks were satisfying. I thoroughly enjoyed the salmon dish, and the cheese bread was delicious, especially when paired with olives. Overall, a five-star experience—we'll definitely return!“

“Hosted a 30th birthday party for ~40 people here and it was excellent! Whirlyball was a great activity to start the night for an hour with food and drink tickets. We were able to move the party upstairs for an hour of bowling with cake and a piñata. Staff was very friendly (Dee was our waiter and was excellent!). Planning was made simple with customizable packages. A bit on the pricey side, but worth it for a well run and fun event.“

“Just recently discovered this South Elgin gem. Been coming here after High school football games. Staff is always welcoming and friendly. There menu is very good, haven't had a bad meal yet. “Been coming in here for lunch for the past 3 weeks. The mix drinks they have are super refreshing, and the beer selection is plentiful. Jackie the bartender is very friendly, and welcoming. “Atwater restaurant was superb. The only down side was the aspect of handicap accessible entrance and outside entrance handicap parking. The ramp wasn't very conducive for handicap wheelchairs, scooters or walkers. It is my request that the Herrington really examine accessibility to all would be ideal for future guests.“
