“Let me just say this, they never disappoint! My husband and I have tried several items off the menu and we are always and I do mean always satisfied. The food here is always very flavorful and the portions definitely leaves you with left overs. Her chicken is the best I’ve had from any restaurant in the city for sure! Food was delicious 1/2 Henny chicken, green beans & potatoes, and macaroni & cheese) and seasoned perfectly, except for the bed of rice that the 1/2 Henny chicken was served on. I will return, but I'll ask for extra Henny sauce on the chicken. I am particular about macaroni & cheese, and this was perfect. Black-owned establishment as well.“
“30-35 & OLDER LOUNGE!! Very lively and fun!!! Remember to call or ask about the certain events for each day of the week (they do have a certain dress code on certain days). GO EARLY!!!! The earlier the better because it can get crowded in the lounge. Food can also be bought here too while having a drink. I enjoy myself here everytime, so this is a nice place to try❤️“
“A southside soul food staple that has been in the Chatham neighborhood for a long while now. Lots of love goes into the food, portions are hearty and the rotation menu served is flavorful. Stopped in with a friend on Friday (Restaurant is only open Fri, Sat, and Sunday til 6pm everyday). We were greeted by a nice lil lady @ the door which directed us on how to order and pay. She then seated us after we got our food. I had a great lunch. Smothered Pork chops were so delicious. Black eyed peas and rice had that soul up in it. My only complaint was that the okra side could've had a lil bit longer in the pot. Everything else from the service to the food was fantastic. The decor is a bit dated tho but I'm fine with it. Thumbs up to this place and kudos to the staff for the experience.Vegetarian options: Sides??♂️. Nothing else is really vegetarian.Dietary restrictions: Soul food. U might get the Itis.Parking: The lot is small. Only big enuff for maybe 8 to 10 cars. U may have to pay to park. “Their food overall is veryyyyy good, BUT I been eating here for months now. And the Hennessy wings used to be my favorite on the menu, but lately they just get worse and worse everytime I order them. First off, they used to bread the Hennessy wings, now they just grill or bake them. WORST MOVE THEY COULD’VE EVER MADE!!! Also they’re always fried hard, which doesn’t mix with the Hennessy sauce very all. The breaded wings went much better with the sauce.“
“I enjoyed my experience at Jean’s Soul Food Cafe on Mother’s Day with my mother. She loved her grits and omelet. I loved the fried pork chops, hash browns & over medium eggs. I will be returning. Sheba was great, her energy was amazing.“

“We arrived here after an overnight stay at the water park. My granddaughter had worked up an appetite and she wanted some Salmon. They didn’t have Salmon but they had catfish. We got a catfish dinner and a grilled wing dinner greens, yams, Mac and cheese. The catfish and greens were fantastic. She gave me a thumbs up, she ate two servings of greens and both fillets of catfish. I ordered the grilled wings but they wreaked of lighter fluid or chemicals, I was a bit disappointed, I ate the Mac and cheese and the yams and both corn breads but I am definitely going to sample it before I leave next time because I know they had to do know, if I’m not mistaken I think I saw the “grilled “ wings sitting in a gravy or something. Anyway we would definitely go back to give them another try.Update:I went back to give the baked wings a redo and they were the bomb as well as The greens, the Mac, the yams and the dressing but what stood out the most was the hospitality. That southern hospitality from way back in the day.. It reminded me of my trips to Mississippi when I was a child.“

“I went here for my birthday celebration with some family and friends three days ago on a Friday. We were seated right away because we had reservations. (Be aware, there's only a ten minute grace period after your reservation time, or it's canceled.) Music was on point! My party and I decided to order almost every wing appetizer that they offered and boy, they didn’t disappoint us! The Hennessey, Jerk, and their Buffalo Hot wings were delicious. The salmon bites and fried catfish was yummy! The crab cakes were just ok; I've had better. The candied yams were really good. The spinach and artichoke dip was good. Our server was very nice and prompt at first, but later it was so difficult to get someone to take our order for additional drinks. We found out later that she was doing two jobs that night because they were short-handed. On a Friday, not a good look! Overall, I would give this place 4 stars for food, ambiance, music, and service.“
