“Amazing human beings run this place! I was having the worst day yesterday as a mental health professional. (Literally three clients has sudden losses of a spouse/fathers this past week). At the end of the day, I wanted nothing more than some good comfort food. I googled Jade Garden and placed an order online. I waited the 1/2 hour and went to retrieve my order only to find that they didn't have one. It didn't take long for me to realize that I ordered from the wrong Jade Garden. Despite my best effort, the tears started rolling as I called and asked if they could cancel my $60 order. I explained that I was sitting in front of a Jade Garden and just realized my error that I ordered from the wrong one. I was told that my order was already made. I think I mumbled something about donating it as I was sitting in front of Jade Garden in VALPARAISO, IN and could not get it. In an act that I can only explain as being one of true compassion, the person said they would cancel my order. I write this not because of the returned money (although I'm extremely grateful) but rather to tell anyone interested that a restaurant is more than just its food and service. I really needed a "win" yesterday and you delivered just that! Thank you, Jade Garden! You are a true class act!“

“We ordered delivery the Mongolian beef dinner special, with chicken fried rice, and a side of crab rangoon appetizer. The food arrived fast, hot, and delicious. The delivery person was very pleasant, with a nice smile. We will definitely order from them again. I highly recommend New Hong Kong Garden.“

“What an amazing place! I had heard how hard it was to get reservations at this restaurant and now I know why!!! I really thought how different or better could Sweet and Sour Chicken be than the hundreds of other times that I've had it, but now I know!!! “It's been ~4 days since we ate at Lao Peng you, and I still can't stop thinking about it. We heard about this place through watching The Bear, and it definitely lived up to the hype! We ordered the pork & dill dumplings, and the Dan Dan noodles, and it's honestly hard to pick a favourite. One thing to be mindful of is that the dill flavour was very strong in the dumplings (I love dill so this wasn't an issue, but thought it might be worth mentioning). My husband and I shared these two dishes and found them to be more than enough for the two of us at lunchtime. I wish I lived in Chicago so I could come back more often and try more of the menu!“

“Went to try this place for my 1st time. When I went in I wasn't sure if I was in the right place. They have construction going on inside and there wasn't a name on the building or inside. Felt confused if I was in some type of office warehouse or something not sure. But I have to admit their food was amazing ?. They have so many choices to pick from. “I went in because I was craving affordable sushi and wanted to try a new place. To my surprise no sushi offered at this time :( Oh well. I was suggested the lunch special. It was a good deal and was fresh. General Tso's Chicken- The chicken was juicy with a nice crisp breading. The sauce was tangy, sweet and spicy! Yum :) The rice had a really good onion flavor with the right wok char. Not greasy and will leave you feeling good and satisfied. As for the location I found free street parking across the street. The place was quiet and clean.“

“Our first time here, it was last minute and we chose it based on a picture someone posted of a soup. We were pleasantly surprised to come in on a Sunday afternoon and we were provided with a table in one of their private rooms. We chose several options and when we tasted the soup, it was soo delicious. Everything was great. Can't wait to go back. “What a lovely marvel - a mid century modern, quietly spacious Chinese restaurant with a select menu that fits in a small, two page flyer. The service was super friendly and gracious, all questions answered. We had a small dim sum lunch and each dish was prepared to order, some of the best I've had - steamed shrimp dumplings, bbq pork bau, sticky rice with pork wrapped in a leaf and steamed. Even the subtle music - beautiful jazz singing - made us happy. I so want to come back to this gem next time I'm in CHI.“

“If you read any of the reviews for Al's Drive In online, people have a ton of nostalgia for this place. I find nostalgia for a restaurant can play a negative role for those who don't have the association, but that wasn't the case for me who only ate here for the first time today. The Chicago dog and super taco were solid but the combination fried rice was the hero for me. Never thought l'd find this kind of wok hei flavor from a Chicago Red Hots institution in Maywood, IL that would remind me so much of the fried rice I grew up with at my Chinese immigrant family's restaurant in Arizona. Honestly just throw in some bean sprouts and you'd have a 1:1 copy. I may not have the same nostalgia that a lot of the usuals have with Al's, but that familiar taste of home is so present in every bite of this fried rice. I'm immediately transported to teenage me devouring a large combination fried rice at my own family's restaurant after working a full day's 12hr shift in the summer and immediately passing out in my bed when I got home. I wish I had started coming here sooner.“

“I tried this restaurant for the first time today because my favorite local restaurant is closed on Mondays-but I think I may have found a new favorite here! The food was amazing. I got delivery and everything was hot and packaged with care. I had a slight issue with my order, not because of the restaurant, but due to the 3rd party delivery service that I ordered with. The man who called me on the phone from the restaurant was very polite, understanding, and accommodating, and he quickly resolved the problem. I ordered the Mongolian (beef), sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, and crab rangoons. Everything was perfect! I will definitely be back again.“

“Forbidden noodles' primarily culinary focus is Japanese Ramen and stir fry selections. The curry is good and tastes very much like the mild golden ramen brand Japanese curry that I make at home occasionally. The chicken and broccoli added to the standard rice and carrot/potato curry mixture were of good quality. The Tonkotsu had very good pork, and surprisingly, it included broccoli as well. The more common ramen garnishes of onions, baby bock choy, egg, naruto (fish cake), and seaweed were also in this bowl and tasted good. They have a cheese, steak, and jalapeño egg roll that was amazing, and yes, you should try one. Forbidden Noodles is a great addition to downtown La Grange and for this area, this is a good choice for ramen in the area. “Large parking lot that is usually empty or plenty of spaces. It’s next door to Park to Shop. There are technically 4 restaurants, you may see 5 but 2 of them are connected. The Serbian restaurant is almost always dead, not a lot of customers. It’s a shame because Serbian food is pretty tasty. On the weekends, they have Taiwanese breakfast at Chinese Cafe. Usually a long line. Good mix of Chinese and Taiwanese food. I would like to see them add more of the popular Taiwanese dishes. Prices are usually cheap to moderate. Good size portions.“

“They're fine for what they are which is a city version of a strip mall Chinese restaurant. It's not particularly inexpensive unless you get a lunch or dinner combo. That's their strength. Otherwise they sometimes close a little early if it's slow. They're not very friendly though not rude. And the quality and timeliness is very inconsistent. My advice, go well before closing and get a combo. If you need more than 3 packets of sauce total, ask them or you won't get it. And they never include hot mustard sauce if you like it, which I do. It's average but not bad.“
