“Always a must stop on my way to or from the Brookfield Zoo. I don't live in the area any more, but when I visit I always try to hit up Mr. Submarine. I don't know what it is, because at face value the ingredients are just OK. But when you get that shredded lettuce soaked with vinegar and oregano, and the not quite sure what kind of cheese it is, mixed with a true sub roll and solid deli meat. It's a beautiful thing. And the grumpy guy behind the counter, he's been there for 30 years. Different faces over the years, but it's the same guy. Just part of the experience. Never change Mr. Submarine.“

“Wow! This has entered my top five favorite Chicago restaurants. The flavors are so powerful because everything is home made and fresh. We had the Mexican hot chocolate, which came with a little concha. They grind the cacao beans in house and it was so delish. Also the red mole (pollo con mole teloloapense) was layered with so many flavors and subtle nuances. The chicken breast was a little dry, but I didn't mind because it made the sauce absorb better. I would say it was a high spice level. Then we had the pineapple upside down cake. I genuinely think this is the best dessert in Chicago. It was so soft and pillowy and packed with real pineapple flavor. The chunks of pineapple on top were grilled which added a smokey flavor. The sauce was a deep caramel flavor. Wow it was really memorable. Also a shout out to the tortillas which were soft and stretchy and very clearly fresh made. I can't wait to bring my friends and family.“

The crab rangoon is the best I’ve ever had, the wings surprised me with how tasty and well cooked they were, the basil chicken egg rolls were bomb (so is the basil chicken over rice), and the Khao Soi is a best seller for a reason!“

“The Pho was so good! I had the pho with shrimp and I added some Tofu.I came here based on other people’s review and I was not disappointed. I’ve been to one other place that was quiet underwhelming so I needed to get it right this time ? I added some extra hot sauce to make it very spicy and I was good to go. “It's refreshing to see a joint that has been around where the service far exceeded the so called 'modern' joints and brought back my love for eating out again. Grant here took such good care of us here. He was attentive, funny, caring and made sure he checked in on us several times. Without going overboard, he made us feel so comfortable; we are definitely asking for him when we go here again (BTW, it's been a once a month Monday dinner for us) The food; as usual, the breadsticks and salad, I don't have anything to say about as they are well known for this. The only thing the kitchen could do better is making the pasta al dente when requested. They seem to not be able to get this right at all.“

“HIGHLY recommend. Their salads are delicious, ample sized and super reasonably priced. I usually can split it into two servings, and even my husband gets full after one of the salads! The space is clean and cute.I also did the January challenge and it kept me alive haha. Now I usually place a pickup order on Sundays for a couple salads to get through the week. “Picked up a to-go order for lunch and I was so pleased. Got a steak burrito and this was possibly some of the most flavorful steak I've ever had in a burrito. Perfect lunch honestly. This place looks like fun and I'll have to come back for dinner sometime. There was only one person working period and he was so nice and his earrings were cool and boy can he make a burrito! Will definitely be back!“

“I grew up in Chicago but my grandparents & mom are from Poland. This is the ONLY deli that my grandfather would buy sausages, ham, head cheese etc. from. He took me with him from the time I was a little girl. I now live in Las Vegas and the Polish Deli here buys all their sausages & deli meats from Andy's Deli in Chicago because it's THE BEST! I just put in another order & I can't wait to get it... the delicious smells take me back to my childhood & happy memories of my grandfather & me shopping for delicious sausages, ham, Polish Rye bread & poppy seed cake! I'm just thrilled that Andy's has an online deli to order all these goodies from!!! If you want THE BEST EASTER HAM, order it from Andy's.... Polish ham is lean & delicious & in my opinion, the best tasting ham out there! Check out their impressive website as you don't have to be Polish or speak it to order online... everything is clearly described along with color photos of the product. I wish shipping costs were cheaper but the taste of the sausages etc. is worth it!!! Their prices are actually very reasonable compared to delis I've shopped in town & none of them are as good as Andy's for authentic Polish sausages, hams, bread or bakery goods!“

“The ratings of the MDW's restaurants are laughably low. I had time to kill and this seemed to be the safest choice. The portion was huge and I couldn't finish it. That's not value you expect from an airport restaurant. The food is usually such a rip off, but compared to the grab and go or fast food options, it was a bargain. I was able to get a vegetable omelette. So, it was probably also healthier than the other options. Sidenote: baseball and Chicago memorabilia.“
