“Literally the best breakfast place I think I've ever eaten at! If I could give 6 stars I would! I had the hot honey chicken and waffles -TO DIE FOR- I live a days drive away, but I think I'm gonna have to make the trip to come back soon! So delicious!!”
“Fantastic Chicago style food here in Mt Vernon. Loved the Chicago dog, the chili dog, the Italian beef and especially loved the fresh hand cut fries. Will be back.”
“Very polite, very fast with getting food out. Best known for their delicious high quality Desserts! Every day they have different specials along with their Everyday menu. Our family loves it! Very reasonably priced.”
“This place has delicious food! Our family had a mix of breakfast and lunch between our orders. Don't judge this place from the parking lot. The inside is beautifully updated! I must say they even had the good toilet paper ?!!”
“My wife found Casa Raya on google while looking for a place for us to have dinner while on a long road trip. It was exactly what we were hoping to find and much better than we expected. We had different kinds of taco plates, Mexican guacamole, shrimp ceviche, and of course the complementary chips and salsa. The food was fantastic, the amounts were generous, the service efficient, and prices very fair for the quality and quantity. We make this trip from time to time and have found our go-to restaurant for lunch or dinner whenever we are passing through—and will plan out trip accordingly.”
“On a business trip, I found this restaurant on Google after typing "healthy food near me." Delicious food in a cozy environment. I've never seen food served with a plastic bonsai tree before. It added to the charm of this quaint place.”
“Can't rate anything else since I went to the drive up window, but their catfish nuggets and Cole slaw are to die for. Good portions. Decent price, nice people.”
“Ordered a pork platter for takeout with green beans and cole slaw and also added on a side of Mac n cheese. It was amazing! Service was great and overall vibe was nice.”
“Solid all the way around--went in because it had the highest rating in the area (4 stars), and it did not disappoint. It appeared clean, decor was nice, and the service was attentive. The house salsa was decent--seems like 85% of Midwestern Mexican places serve house salsa that tastes more like marinara than salsa casera. This one actually had more flavor than the usual tomato, orégano, and tex-mexy cumin that you find in a lot of places. The salsa picosa (spicy) that I asked for was even better--homemade with a good amount of garlic and cilantro. For my entree I got the Pollo Cancun, which is grilled chicken strips on top of rice, covered with queso dip. The chicken was tender and tasted fresh, same for the rice and queso. As an added bonus, the corn tortillas were high-quality, chewy, and not falling apart, like the usual supermarket ones. Definitely my go-to Mexican place in MT. Vernon.”
“Friendly employees dealt with our large group with no problems. Some new folks with me didn't understand that you all cleared the tables. Great impressions.”
“02/19/2024We had not had Long John Silver's for several years. Happened to be in Mt. Vernon and saw that theirs was still open. The establishment looks to be recently updated, very clean. The staff was very friendly and we received our order quickly. Everything was hot, nice and crispy. The hush puppies were perfect, light crispiness on the outside, tender on the inside. Definitely look forward to returning”
“The name pretty much says it all. It is a sports bar and grill. With a jumbotron size TV. Great to watch any sports game on. Very laid-back comfortable atmosphere. I definitely recommend you go and give it a try. The food was good, cooked perfectly and the service was as well.Parking: Plenty of parkingKid-friendliness: Family and kid friendly.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible. Plenty of wheelchair parking available right up in front.”
“Great smoke. You need to try this place if you like BBQ. I ordered the pork loin. It was smoky and so juicy. Bbq sauce on the side. Paid with onion rings(best I've ever had) and a real down-home, authentic cowboy beans. 3 beans with ground beef, sweet and smoky. Garlic bread and sweet tea rounded out the meal. Wife ordered their quarter pound burger with cheese and everything. It was also smoky and tasty. We drove an hour and a half from St. Louis just to try this place. We were not disappointed. Make a day trip, it's worth it.”
“We did so enjoy our dinner. Our waitress, Peyton, was wonderful! She was professional and made us feel like family. She was able to take all our orders with a smile on her face. Everything was served efficiently and in a friendly manner! We WILL be back because of Peyton!”
“Excellent gyros and fries and salad. Jimmy is the owner and he's a great guy, always enjoy eating here and visiting with the owner. Just remember cash only..”
