Traveling through town we stopped at Agave for dinner. It was probably the best tasting food we have eaten on our 2 week cross country trip. Service was great. Atmosphere relaxing and festive at the same time. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Agave is my family's "go to" restaurant when we're wanting Mexican food in Mt. Vernon. I can't remember going anywhere else over the last several years. I usually get the chicken fajitas, and they're always delicious. Even when they're busy, I don't remember waiting longer than 10 or 20 minutes for our food. I'd recommend Agave to anyone wanting an authentic Mexican experience in southern Illinois.
