“All I can say is WOW! This steakhouse was incredible! Cannot recommend enough. The meat paradise was truly an experience and a delicious one at that. Our server, Leo, was probably one of the best servers we’ve ever had anywhere with his charismatic personality and caring service. He truly made this restaurant a memorable time! Forget about Brazilian steak houses or what not, money was WAY better spent here! Photo is before the delicious steak was grilled to our liking in front of us.“
“I had heard a ton about this place and was excited to go. Wait time on a Friday was surprisingly short. Restaurant was busy but not loud. Seating was comfortable. The fried gyoza were a bit limp. They needed a little bit more time in the pan to crisp up the wrapper. The steak was awesome, great quality, lightly seared, fantastic sauce on a bed of micro greens and tomatoes. The sake refresher was tasty. The Tokyo white beer was very good and easy to drink. A great pairing for the meal.We got the monster ramen and the vegetarian miso ramen. It was good. The monster ramen had kind of a sweetness to it which was kind of odd but not unenjoyable. The chili oil is definitely worth the add on. The miso was a bit light, but very good. For desert, jenivees makes their cupcakes. The matcha yuzu cupcake was good, but a little strong on yuzu. But it didn't hold a candle to the ube with young coconut. Probably the best cupcake I've ever had.“
“Stopped in because I was soooo hungry and forgot my yogurt in the fridge and had a 10 A.M. meeting. The guy, who I assume is the owner, was beyond nice and HONEST. When I asked him how long it would take to get something with eggs to go he said like 5 min. He was spot on! Had a steak and egg sandwich - normally do not eat that way in the morning but it was EGGSELLENT! Will be back for sure when I am in the area to try something else! The place is also very clean, so I really hit the jackpot today!!! Love the name too LOL“
“I’m always looking to try new places and if you’re a looker too look no further!!! I tried three different tacos- short rib, bulgogi, and shrimp- all delish. The star here was the Korean street bbq wings! The wings were absolutely to die for, they were so good that I immediately checked to see if this place was on Uber eats or DoorDash. Sadly they aren’t but I hope hope hope they will be in the future! Amazing food, def check them out“
“My wife and I loved the steamed dumplings with mild sauce. The dumplings were very good with or without sauce, but the sauce was delicious too. Chicken tikka masala was one of the best tasting we’ve ever had. Samosa chaat was very good too, one of the better ones. The garlic naan was a bit more plain tasting than we’d live. We highly recommend this place overall and will definitely eat here again and try other stuff!“
“The restaurant's elegant decor impresses, complemented by attentive service. The artful presentation and the fresh, delightful sushi stand out, marrying traditional and innovative flavors beautifully. Moreover, the pricing is fair, making for an excellent dining experience that promises both quality and value. Highly recommended.“
“Grew up right down the block from this building and it amazes me how much this restaurant has impacted the neighborhood. I adore Mott st for many reasons but the food is definitely a major factor. Mott st is an Asian American restaurant that pairs eastern cooking techniques with Chicago ingredients to create umami laden flavors. Some of my top dishes that I never think twice about is definitely the Mott burger, stuffed cabbage, Korean mussels hot pot, everything wings and mango sticky rice! The burger is to die for! From the textures to the flavors is absolutely insane. Love getting the wings because they pair them with tzatziki instead of ranch which is brilliant. Mussels hot pot truly hits home and pairing it with the garlic fried rice or shrimp noodles is a bonus. I’ve also paired the mussels before with the stuffed cabbage which also blew my mind.Stuffed cabbage on its own is absolutely bananas. The pan seared kimchi and braised pork shoulder complements the kimchi broth so well yet emphasizes the crispy rice. Definitely a dish I will never get tired of.Somehow I always manage to devour 5-8 dishes and still have room for dessert. We decided to order all 3 desserts since they never disappoint. I was so happy when I saw that they brought back the mango sticky rice!!! I swear by this dessert, reminds me of my childhood it’s so nostalgic and tasty. Chocolate Bundt cake with pickled kumquats was delicious and warm ricotta donuts were so good with a berry jam dip.Mott st is a restaurant I never miss to mention to my friends. Truly a gem in wicker park.Parking: Mott st offers a small parking spot but it’s only five spaces so if there’s none available street parking is basically your only option.Kid-friendliness: Saw a few kids as I was dining and seemed to be enjoying the food as well.Wheelchair accessibility: Ground floor no stairs extremely easy to maneuver with a wheelchair.“
“I was in the area visiting my siblings and was craving pad thai. I ordered a party tray for $60 so i can share with the family. It did not dissapoint. It was so good. Matter fact best pad thai I ever had. I also ordered shrimp spring roll. Spring roll is delicious, fresh, and nice size. Highly recommend. Definitely will be ordering again. Workers was also very nice.“
“Unbelievable ramen! I could have just drank the broth! The noodles and the pork belly were an added bonus lol! Come hungry, a lot of food! Will be back for sure! I had the umami ramen and the spicy level 2 is not really spicy at all, which was fine with me. Can’t wait to go back!“
“Cool place! Tasty sour beer & my fried rice with chicken was yummy although it had a bit of a fishy taste (fish sauce?) which I wasn’t crazy about but didn’t hate either. It also had excessive bean sprouts but that’s my personal preference; I removed 95% of them lol. My friend got the Rose Tteokbokki; it was a bit spicy for her but had decent flavor. The bartender told us it’s a popular & well-liked dish ??♀️ I don’t live around here so I wouldn’t seek it out again but always nice to have new experiences!“
“Recently tried Sushi Hall and loved it. Such a cool new spot in Lincoln park with a speakeasy bar. Really like the colors and vibes of this place . The service is also quick and the staff is friendly. The food was a 10/10. Unforgettable taste, impeccable craftsmanship, and a symphony of freshness await you at Sushi Hall. This is probably my FAVORITE spot I've been to recently. It has an outdoor patio too, making it the perfect spot for SUMMER. We tried the Hamachi on the Hall, The Friends Night Out, The Moulton, Gyoza, and Togarashi Fries. Each dish was so flavorful and the portion sizes were good too. Hamachi on the hall was my absolute favorite. I will definitely be back to try other things on their menu.“
“A long overdue review. Noodlebird is one of the best restaurants in Chicago. Every dish is full-flavored, bold, and made with thoughtful and creative pairings. The smoked tofu is incredible, the curry is my favorite, the peanut noodles are so soft and delicious, and the veggie Mac soup is one of my favorites. The bakery is also one of the best in the city. The creative desserts like mochi doughnuts, banana caramel brownie (my favorite brownie ever), the egg tarts (a must if you’ve never tried), the passion fruit Masada, and so many more are the perfect way to end the meal. The service is top notch, timely, super friendly, and warm.Noodlebird deserves any and all accolades for its super-creative dishes, friendly service, intensely flavored food, etc.“
“The food was incredible we loved everything we ordered.I got Emerald Gyoza, the garden veggie Maki, and garlic edamame. My friends got the burger, corn fritters with shrimp and chicken skewers. I don’t eat meat, so I can’t comment on their dishes, but I can say that they were raving about them and we all love the vegetarian items.Vegetarian options: They had an entirely separate vegetarian vegan menu, which was very helpful“
“We love Malaysian food especially Peranakan! The portions are American hahaha but it's okay. The Char Kway Tiau, Nasi Lemak, Satay, Ayam Masak Merah etc., etc., etc. Just great food and the owner engages with patrons. Oh yes, Chili Crabs finger licking good“
“Cafe Alif is just a find! Their lagman is simply divine - rich in flavor, juicy and very tasty. Be sure to try it! But that's not all - the service here is at the highest level. Orders are processed very quickly, and the staff is always friendly and ready to help with any questions. The atmosphere of the cafe is also pleasant and cozy, an ideal place for a pleasant lunch or dinner with friends or family. Overall, this cafe definitely deserves 5 stars for its exquisite lagman, excellent service and wonderful atmosphere.“
“Went to try this place for my 1st time. When I went in I wasn't sure if I was in the right place. They have construction going on inside and there wasn't a name on the building or inside. Felt confused if I was in some type of office warehouse or something not sure. But I have to admit their food was amazing ?. They have so many choices to pick from. I definitely will be going back to try different plates. The price for the bowls is fair not over priced.“
“I’ve gone here multiple times and done takeout multiple times. It is honestly a favorite neighborhood gem. The service when dining in is truly great and some of the best in Lakeview!! The food is always consistent and the atmosphere is quite adorable…great for friends or date night - either way! Thank you to the staff! A young gentleman was our server twice and he was phenomenal.Favorites: Shanghai Lo Mein & Mongolian Beef“
“Seated immediately waited on immediately food came out hot no sooner than we ordered it. Ordered the fried shrimp spring rolls, I definitely should have ordered more they were good hot crispy so flavorful. The pho broth was amazing the shrimp fried rice was absolutely delicious. I would definitely come again.“
“I loved “Perilla” …Please do not think of this as your typical Korean BQ grill/Restaurant. This is the most excellent Korean BQ restaurant I have ever been in and I have been in quite few over the years both in Korea back in the day and in the USA…Tomba⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“
“Rice and Bread has been there for a long time. The original owner sold it to the current owner and he has maintained its charm. I don't think I've ever eaten American style food there because I love the Korean offerings. The food is amazing. The decor is dated but the service is wonderful. The same server has been there forever too.You get a lot of food for the money“
“Ordered ahead and it took about 20 minutes to be ready. Got back and was amazed by the quality of the bread / filling. My favorite had to be the bulgogi sando or the strawberry ube. Would definitely recommend trying as someone who is from out of town.“
“We went to furama for dim sum & drag! delicious dishes with lots of vegetarian options and fun drinks. Beautiful big room, perfect for the event! Employees were helpful and accommodating for dietary restrictions. Will definitely be returning!“
“What a great place! I can recommend it for celebrations, date or just sit by the bar and enjoy great food and drinks. We’ve been in this place many times and never disappointed. Great selection of delicious drinks, I always get their Old Fashioned.Food:You can tell everything is fresh and high quality, I always like to get oysters because they have delicious ones. You must try oyster shot it’s worth every single penny. Besides that great appetizers like fried Gyoza or spicy edamame. You won’t be regretting taking their sushi rolls either.Highly recommend!Parking: You can go to underground parking lot that is free of charge and you can access that parking from Summit ave“
“04/02/24 - What an awesome add to the neighborhood. Teriyaki Madness is in the mall next to The Smash burger on Foster Ave. It's less than 1/2 mile from my house. I actually sampled their chicken teriyaki @ a Yelp event up in Lake Bluff @ Bernie's Book Bank. Teriyaki Madness has a store up in Gurnee, IL The teriyaki comes in 3 different sizes, Junior, regular or large. I ordered the regular sized chicken teriyaki bowl & it was more than enough for me as I had a little bit of left overs to take home. They have different options like regular or spicy chicken, chicken breast teriyaki, steak teriyaki, salmon teriyaki, tofu teriyaki & chicken katsu. Wry good seasoning w Great options. They also have appetizers like edamame, egg rolls, chicken potstickers & crab Rangoon. I was very pleasantly surprised w/the grilled chicken teriyaki served over brown rice w/veggies like cabbage & broccoli. I really enjoyed my meal & scarfed it down. I will definitely be back to try some of their other items like the steak teriyaki or chicken katsu.“
“I never really think much of the service and atmosphere ratings here on Google reviews but both at Kai Zan truly were top notch. As a birthday gift, my brother took me to try omakase for the first time, and it was a very cool food experience. Seeing the chefs and waiters and hosts do their thing was like watching a performance. I watched as the staff meticulously reset the table for the next people - everything perfectly placed down to the centimeter. The way they’re able to time everything is incredible too.My favorite of the courses was the very first and the shooters - very unique. The others were good but I appreciated the creativity of those. Very beautiful dishes and we were seated at the bar so we had a front row seat to watching the chefs cook (highly recommend). We also ordered the yuzu cheesecake and ube pound cake (unlisted) for dessert. At the end I wasn’t stuffed but I was content. A really great first omakase experience!“
“This is my go to place for Pad Thai and have had delivery 3 different times. Love their pad thai each time and the crab Rangoon’s are a delicious appetizer. If you’re not familiar with Thai spice levels, know that they are spicier than western cuisine's. I order “mild plus” each time and consider myself a spice lover, so be forewarned anything above mild plus will be very spicy.“
“Such a fun dining experience with so many options and unique items to try.I actually recommend doing the a la carte menu because you can still leave feeling really full and get a good variety for even less than the all-you-can-eat price.I really enjoyed the lively atmosphere for dinner (but we did have to wait a while), so if you are looking for the dining experience minus the bustling atmosphere, lunch is the way to go!Some of our favorites were the sliced lamb, quail eggs, fresh noodles, broccoli, and mushrooms.“
“The crunchy spicy bowl I ordered was so huge! It was a perfect amount of food and so well balanced with greens and all the accouterments. Great selection of beverages, too. They had one of my favorite green grape drinks that I got hooked on while visiting Tokyo!“
“Just visited this extremely cozy, and welcoming sushi ? cafe/restaurant yesterday afternoon as a leap year treat and was amazed at how fresh the sashimi was!Not only was the raw fish extremely fresh tasting but the Maki roll I chose (fatty tuna with crunch) was super fresh and clean tasting. I ordered directly from their lunch menu and there are many good choices all very reasonably priced that is served with a beautiful fresh salad ? and one of the best miso soup ? broths I've ever had. I chose a Thai iced tea ? to accompany my Maki and ? lunch Combo. My server was super friendly and kind and extremely attentive. The atmosphere is cheerful and all the plates ? and presentations of food extremely pretty. I can honestly say the raw fish here is some of the freshest I've had in Chicago and I highly recommend everyone come here at lunch if you need to relax and spoil yourself.“
“I come here for the Bring It On Noodles. This is a soup that tastes like nothing I've ever had. It combines the best of Thai flavors. The soup is spicy, tangy, sweet, savory, and packed with umami flavor. All of the elements of this soup pair so well together. 10/10 for this soup that I have damn near once/week. The owner knows me well at this point. Please taste this soup!“
“This place was absolutely fantastic! We dined in and got the chive dumplings, green curry with chicken and the cashew chicken and rice. We came in with zero expectations as we were taking a walk around town when we got here and the smell alone drew us in for dinner. The service was stellar, kept joe rob the waters and super attentive but not too much at the same time. It was a very intimate spot, not much seating so if you tend to struggle with sensory issues try to come when not busy or get it to go. The food was so fresh and PACKED with flavor. Really felt like it was the warm respite we needed on a rainy evening. Highly recommend.“
“What a lovely marvel - a mid century modern, quietly spacious Chinese restaurant with a select menu that fits in a small, two page flyer. The service was super friendly and gracious, all questions answered. We had a small dim sum lunch and each dish was prepared to order, some of the best I've had - steamed shrimp dumplings, bbq pork bau, sticky rice with pork wrapped in a leaf and steamed. Even the subtle music - beautiful jazz singing - made us happy. I so want to come back to this gem next time I'm in CHI.“
“I tried Yum Dum Truck at Taste of chicago, which tainted my experience slightly because I had to wait in the longest line for an hour before I could get my food. However, the fried chicken bao I got was so amazing that I'll overlook the line and give this place 5 stars. I'd buy that bao any day.“
“Absolutely Love ? this place it’s a vibe and the Food ? is incredible for the Price, people are friendly with a mix crowed which I appreciate. However, the signage… we need a bigger Brighter sign so we can see the location at night… that would be my only recommendation ???✨“
“Ordered from here for the first time, as it’s super close by and I’m beyond impressed. They left a nice personalized note with my order and the food was to die for. I had the crispy garlic sesame fusion chicken bowl with the garlic butter fried rice and chicken dumplings. The combination of flavors was amazing and for a great price. I can’t wait to try more things on the menu. Thank you so much! Sorry didn’t take a picture of the food as I couldn’t wait to dive in. It looked scrumptious!“
“This restaurant was suggested by a friend and we decided to have a dinner. When we arrived (around 6pm) the place was eerily empty, but started to fill up in the next hour. The ambience is a bit bland perhaps because the interior is outdated and boring. But the food was great and the service was good. The Curry Laksa was the star of the dinner with very unique and vibrant flavor profile. All other dishes were flavorful as well. The drinks were ok. Will come back when in the area.“
“Great Vibe!! The people and food were great!! Sushi is fresh and full of flavor! ?? also it’s BYOB so if your into that it’s even better. Was my first going based on a friends recommendation and it exceeded my expectations. Will be back!“
“On this night we visited Ninja Sushi in Portage Park for a late night dinner. We had talked about this place but I wasn’t sure that it was a good choice for me. It seemed gimmicky.I was wrong! The theme ties nicely with a homey Japanese ambiance end decor inside. Feels like a Wicker Park place in Portage Park. But… the real surprise was in the food! Here we go!We ordered Cucumber and Fried Tofu with Peanut sauce, Tamako, Woon Sen Pad Thai, Veggie Monster Maki, and Spider Maki. And since it’s a BYOB, I chose to pair that with ROAM Hard Kombucha Hibiscus Berry. The salad was very tasty with the dressing being well balanced but light on the sweetness and tanginess. Now… here is where the story takes a violent turn. I DO NOT LIKE TOFU and used to think that it was a food that should have never been made. UNTIL I tried Ninja’s Fried Tofu. It was fried crispy and with a firm yet light and fluffy inside. Totally different than any other tofu I’ve ever tasted. The peanut sauce was a rich pairing for it and was absolutely delicious. Tamako was Tamako, light and fluffy. Then came the Pad Thai and the rolls. The rolls, made fresh with quality ingredients you could taste. Complex yet subtle and definitely delicious! The Pad Thai was nothing short of fantastic! I asked for medium hot and they nailed it! It was lightly sweet and spicy and very tasty. Well balanced and not oily with good sized and plentiful shrimp. The presentation on every dish was beautiful and colorful and artsy. The service was awesome even as we were some of the last customers to leave at closing and this made us put Ninja on our Portage Park Fave list.Thank you for a memorable meal!“
“Very nice place, especially if you just want a really relaxing atmosphere, great vibes, super sweet and friendly and not to mention quick service with a smile. Sushi is fresh, Ramen is very delicious and flavorful. I can drink the broth by itself. But all and all, "It's a must go check out." ... This was family time!!!Parking: Yes, you still have to pay the parking meter on the weekends. I'm just telling you now. CPD is down the street...“
“the food is always incredible, perfectly light and filling at the same time! The crispy chicken aioli baowich always wins and the creative baonuts hit the sweet tooth without knocking it out. I cant recommend this place enough, amd so far I've only done delivery! huge soft spot for being the first bit of food I was able to keep down and enjoy on a very sick day. THANK YOU FOR AWESOME, COMFORTING, DELICIOUS FOOD!“
“Food and desserts were great BUT they take FOREVER to bring out the meats. No problem timely bringing out anything else we ordered though. Sus. Our waiter was very friendly when we were seated and when she came with items but didn’t check on us outside of just dropping off. Funny thing though, she asked if we needed change on our payment that would’ve been a tip equating more than 50% of the total bill. I was shocked she even asked. She also didn’t tell us that she needed a manager for the change so we sat there for a while wondering if she misheard and kept the change until finally we got tired of waiting, we wanted to leave! We had spent 2+ hours there and probably more than half that time waiting for meats so we asked and thats when she told us why. Food was bomb though LOL.“
“Absolutely love this place!!! Tracy is an amazing owner and she loves her customers. I've moved but continue to return for the yummy food and beautiful atmosphere. Such a beautiful family business. When I have ordered for delivery my food has always arrived on time and it's still hot and fresh. Even the delivery people greet you with a smile and are so kind!“
“Great Asian Fusion food at reasonable prices. The restaurant has a big indoor space with lots of seating. Very clean, bright, and cozy place. I got the duck curry, crispy pork belly, and the jerky. All of those food I ordered were solid dishes. Also, the mango sticky rice looked really delicious. But also, don't forget to try some of their sushi and egg rolls. Urbanbelly has super inviting and friendly atmosphere. What more can you ask!“
“This is a great place for maki rolls... The service was very good. I love the fact you ordered your food and it came to the table fresh, great concept for buffet. Abit of advice go hungry and with more the 2 people for the buffet. Going back soon to try other foods for sure.“
“Every time I have ordered delivery from here the food is delicious and packed with care. I have tried the sesame chicken, cashew chicken and the crab rangoons- all delicious. This has become a new favorite takeout spot for consistently good food.“
“My family reserved half the restaurant for CNY, and the staff were on top of everything despite a VERY full and busy restaurant. Best cooked pork, so soft and juicy (order #027). I seriously should have taken photos, because I regret having no accompanying images. Everything was delicious.Dietary restrictions: I have a kid with peanut allergy, and they easily swapped out peanut sauce for fish sauce to eat with the spring rolls. No issues, very accommodating.“
“I am SO delighted that this restaurant is in the neighborhood! The quality of sashimi is exceptionally high, and each dish is created and plated with intricate care. Definitely looking forward to trying more of their items. And their homemade kimchi is some of the best I've ever had; a nuanced balance of deep and bright heat, aged to perfection.“
“Nestled in the heart of the city, Wakamono offers an unforgettable dining experience blending modern sophistication with traditional charm. With a menu showcasing meticulously crafted sushi rolls and savory hot dishes, every bite is a symphony of flavors. Complemented by a curated selection of sake and attentive service, Wakamono is a must-visit for sushi enthusiasts and food lovers alike. Love the butter mochi ❤️service is awesome.“
“Finally had a chance to visit the new location…new for us and probably a yr old for most lolThey used to be in this small space where I believe had only 10 tables including two big tables…there always 2hrs wait so u need to be here before 530pm to get a table LOL even carry out is an hour or two wait….(weekends)Now with a bigger space, much better! I think there like 8 smaller tables and 4 big table + two rooms for private dining…The food is probably one of the best in Chicago if not the best! Forget MH, its not for Chinese ppl lol they are expensive for below average food and small portion lolThis place, the price is reasonable and OK portion and the food are very yummy! We have two adult here and two kids under 7. We ordered our usual….two lobster w/ rice, stir fried clams, a veggie dish, fried pork, a noodles dish, three dessert and a chinese medicine drink….Vegetarian options: Only a few vegetarian optionsParking: It's china town!! Very difficult to find parking especially there is no Lot lolKid-friendliness: Kids love the dessert but no kid menuWheelchair accessibility: Front door not automatic“
“Daniel, the bartender, gave me a an outstanding hospitality service! He got personal! That’s the key! The food was super duper flavorfull! Lychee drink delizioso! The whole stuff very welcoming! Feels like a family!!!Thank you Tony as well!“
