“My guy and I dined there last night and I can only say that every aspect of this visit was, on a scale from 1 to 5, a 10. Atmosphere, service, cleanliness, promptly being seated AND served with a reservation, courteous waitstaff, and last but not least...every dish we tasted was superbly plated and tasted amazing. We had the restaurant week special with 3 entrees. We chose the pot roast, blackened salmon w/creamed spinach, honey chicken with fried pound cake, short ribs /mashed potatoes, shrimp n grits. “I don't know how they ended up there but there's always a bunch of soul vegan options at my local bodega. All of them are good, but I'd sell my left foot for a lifetime supply of the Chik'n salad wrap. All offerings are good, but that wrap is amazing.“

“My Fraternity Brother Anthony Williams and partner Byron Diggs when not bringing great joy as a part of the Our Lady of Our Lady of Africa Parish, Chicago Eucharistic Ensemble have a great Cafe in Maywood right off of I 290. It is called Meal of the Day and has some great southern cuisine in an establishment on the 4th floor of a business complex overlooking I 290. It is appointed with some great art from notable black artists . There is also a banner from Hales Franciscan Class of 1979 , not sure what that’ s all about .. lol! They also do on site catering and have fed the masses after masses at their home church . Check them out ! My fraternity brother has been telling me for years to make the drive and wifey and I finally did and it was so worth it ! .“

“This is my first time ordering from them and I did it through Uber eats. I was not disappointed. I ordered Cornish hen cabbage mashed potatoes Mac and cheese and cornbread. Everything was very good. I didn't eat it all in my first sitting and it wasn't because it wasn't good. It was a lot of food. This was definitely one of the best soul food restaurants that I have had since being in Chicago. I also ordered banana pudding. The only criticism I have about it is that it doesn't have enough bananas in it. The picture online was deceiving. It was tasty though just next time add some bananas. “Awe I love this place it also has an outdoor patio it's never crowded and he puts a lot of food on your plate I love the beef short ribs and the prices are very reasonable parking is ok but you can also park on the Northside of the building it's also BYOB and the patio is for rent and it also has a VIP section. My friend had her birthday party there and it was a blast I highly recommend this establishment And the owner John makes you feel like family“
