“Sorry to say that I was disappointed. The gyros were good but the patty melt was horrible. The hamburger tasted frozen, dried and tasteless. Fries were good as well. The other disappointment was they forgot my grandsons Hotdog, which was at the top of the receipt. I will probably try again since I paid for hotdog and will have to go back“

“I got the Maxwell street polish with fries. I lived in Chicago and every now and then went to the original Jimmy's hot dogs which use to be on Halsted and Maxwell, for the original Maxwell street polish. Joey's in Crest Hill tasted just as good! I will be back again.“
“This place has amazing food and service is great, especially from the cook! My husband buys us food from here at least 2-3 times a month so we’ve got around to try almost everything (he has for sure), and we’re never disappointed. The only reason I did not put 4 stars is because the hours aren’t always accurate with what’s posted. There has been times when we’ve wanted to get food here, but they were closed early. Other than that, I definitely recommend it here! ?“

“I LOVE the custom order salads. Fill out the slip, pick out your favorite ingredients and dressing. Then after a short wait, dive into a bountiful fresh salad full of all the things you want to eat. My last one was romaine lettuce with grilled chicken, mushroom, asparagus, tomato, red onion, hard boiled egg, with Caesar dressing. So good!! It will be years before I run out of combinations!! “Burger is BOMB. Ive never tried it before, but really it gives Culver’s a run for it’s money. I have to admit. The presentation is phenomenal. I just had a standard 4x4 Cheeseburger. The mini burger pair is really good sizing for 2 people.Straight to the point and the toppings really complete it. The guy at the counter is also very nice. I actually really like the kiosk ordering - im a visual person and like to just go at my own pace. The kiosk is a nice touch.“

They have earned their right to be one of the best in gourmet tasting burgers for a reasonable price.(although that reasonable price has gotten a bit high these days at $10.50 for the regular hamburger with all the works - no cheese)They make everything fresh to order and you can tell in the taste.The picture shown in the review is the "little hamburger" which is still plentiful if you're going to snack on the free peanuts available here while you're waiting for the burger to be made.The fries shown in the picture are called "little fries". Believe me when I say that even the little fries will be good enough with your meal. Don't forget to ask for Cajun salt on top of the fries. “The food is surprisingly good. But I recommend you check your food before you leave. They frequently get it wrong. This time I said no onions on my gyro, so I got no sauce either. I wanted the sauce. Last time our Italian beef bread was soaked through in juice. So this time I asked for juice on the side, and they charged me extra for it. Maybe next time I'll ask for the bread on the side.“
“I visit this Portillo’s regularly when I’m staying in the area. Portillo’s food is simply some of the best that you can enjoy in the greater Chicago area. Their dining facility is akin to other Portillo’s across the nation and this place is always clean. I do feel that some of the drive-through order takers can be a little bit snarky but overall the service here is pretty good. I will continue to visit them and enjoy the wonderful food!“
“Doggie Diner, Your 2 hot dog, fries and drink special is an excellent deal. The hot dogs and fries were excellent and well worth the ride. My wife had the gyros with fries it was outstanding too. There is more to the menu than dogs and gyros and we look forward to sampling from their variety of items. I'd recommend using your GPS to find the Doggie Diner, because it's easy to miss.“
