“Drove 35 minutes to eat here, but was skeptical about how good it would be. I left with a full carryout order of 1/2 chicken for tomorrow, after finishing a 1/2 order at dinner today! Absolutely delicious, and not to mention, very kind owners!“

“Worth the wait and must try! Beautiful and unique venue in the unassuming town of Des Plaines. Our server was kind and welcoming, food was delicious, drinks were fun and tasty. The only two items that were less than ideal, the horrible acoustics (incredibly loud) and although it was too on my list to try, the chicken shawarma rolls were underwhelming. Even with those two items, the great service and food quality it's still worth the 5 star review. We sat upstairs, which very much appreciated, being out of the hustle and bustle of the downstairs. Looking forward to trying the brunch and the outside patio... overlooking the water.“

“My wife planned my surprise 40th birthday at Region. From start to finish the night was perfect. The food was impeccable and very well cooked. The staff was amazing, extremely helpful and just pleasant throughout the entire night. Everything went perfect and i would recommend anyone to have their private event at Region.“

We got there on the early side and enjoyed a glass of wine from and excellent wine list 1 a lot of unique offerings. Our waitress was great, letting us taste a small sip before selecting our wine. We moved on to the pumpkin seed hummus; delish and unique. Wish it was served with fresh rather than oiled/buttered toast but it was still delish. I opened for the zucchini noodles as a main and also enjoyed. The restaurant is bright and airy, when the weather warms up the patio looks lovely.“

“I came here for me date night and goodness gracious me. The date was bland and basic, poor conversationalist while being way to into themselves. Like bro...who talks in 3rd person about fishing with your bros? Not even the tasty Moscow mule could fix it. Pretty sure he even told me 6 times about his crypto coins. It's 2024 like what are you doing bro. The food was also delicious.“

“I enjoyed the Escargot, Oyster Rockefeller, three cheese potatoes, Mac and Cheese, an the cocktails. Steaks looked great and large enough to share. But the most important item was the bar service staff! They were amazing! I recommend anyone going!“

“I've been here about 3 times now, and every time has been a great experience. Fast, accurate, and polite service. They have a pretty extensive menu, so you're sure to find something that's going to please your appetite. And the food is simply good. Doesn't matter if you get breakfast, lunch, or dinner. “I've been to the original Johnnie's on North Ave for many, many years. We decided to check out this place since it's closer to our home. Happy to report, that they did not disappoint. The menu here is more robust than the one at the original Johnnie's. Food was exactly as delicious and they even have a watermelon flavored Italian ice which was a total hit with the kiddos.“

“I love playing trivia at Hot Pockets on Mondays. Gabby is the best server, she always is checking in and making sure everything is okay! My cat (pencil) was stuck in a tree and she invented a flying device to grab him. In addition to this, she gave 50 orphans wheels of cheese out of the goodness of her heart!“

“Can't say enough about this place. I have been coming to Uncle Bill's since 2007. Mostly it was lunch and my favorite rib-eye stake sandwich at the time. I came back to this place after 14 years of being out of the country. It is still the same family atmosphere, great food and a friendly service. Uncle Bill and Tim - very friendly and approachable, as always. When you come regularly you start to see familiar faces. They have long-time customers dining there. “Located in the Rose Hotel, same proximity as Dave and Buster’s and Trulucks. If the parking is full, just park in the huge parking lot across the street by Dave and Buster’s. When you walk into the hotel, the Thorn restaurant is to your right. The vibe is semi classy and intimate. It can also be a casual place to hang out, eat, and watch tv. Service was fantastic, they really take care of you over here. Prices are reasonable given the atmosphere. I had shrimp tacos, hemp hummus, and the Westcoast smasher burger. Pro tip: when you check in on Yelp, you get the hemp hummus for free. It was big enough to share with two other people.-shrimp tacos 5 - these are good sized tacos. Easily shareable. The shrimp pieces were fresh and juicy. Shells were soft. Avocado pieces were large chunks. The corn tortilla chips were crunchy and did not break easily.-hemp hummus 5 - fresh ingredients and warm naan. Very light appetizer.-Westcoast smasher 5 - ordered it medium and it came out perfect. It’s a very clean burger. Your hands don’t get oily or greasy. Meat practically melts in every bite. Special sauce amplifies the flavor. French fries were crispy and they’re on the thinner side. Well seasoned.“

“This place seemed as if it was an upscale sports bar. Plenty on tvs to view games, but above that was the food! I was very surprised at how everything tasted, making me savor that last bite. “Yummy! I was on a quest to find a true chicago style hotdog i and this place delivered! I always forget to take a picture before digging in! The hotdog was spot on! “We had a girls dinner at Coopers Hawk and all was fantastic - the food, atmosphere and service. Our waitress Paula was amazing and just so sweet attentive. I ordered some appetizers to munch on. The drunken shrimp (came with 5) were good and crisp. the ‘over the border egg rolls’ were the best I have ever had! Two of the three dipping sauces it came with were dynamite! In additional to their famous crispy brussels sprouts, I will also be ordering the on the border egg rolls too. The Cooper’s hawk ale was also a delightful“

“Here for brunch @ noon. Seated promptly, everyone was kind, the table was set and clean. The 360 fireplace is a nice touch, just watch the step up/down in that area. Service was quick, order accurate and a small pot of coffee was left at the table.“

“We were in the area and remembered that Two Chefs was down the street. We have emotional ties to this restaurant because they catered our wedding in 2011 and we were very impressed with their food. The waitress greeted us at the door and was very professional, polite, and well dressed. My husband ordered the chicken pot pie, it was very flavorful. The chicken was very tender and the crust was flaky like you would expect. I ordered the 1/2 chicken with mashed potatoes and broccoli it was so delicious and brought back memories. We will be back for sure when we are in the area again. If your in the area, I recommend giving this place a try!“

“We love it here! It's a great atmosphere with super friendly staff. Good prices and even better food. Drinks are a good price too and they have rotating cans to try new beers every time we go. Our favorite menu items are the pizza, island patty melt, wings, and the Mac and cheese bites! This is our favorite location for date night and it's top of mind for a great bar to sit at. Plus you have bowling and pool tables right there as well.“

“Went here for my mom‘s birthday. The staff were amazing!! Angel was actually an angel and my mom had the greatest time. She had so much fun laughing and made really good memories. The staff were just hilarious and awesome. “Fantastic! 11/10 stars if I could! We stopped in for brunch on a busy Saturday morning and were luckily seated right away. Beware the menu is large and the pancakes are even larger. You could easily spend a half hour deciding what you'd like. The best part is that a bunch of their options come with sides of pancakes, potatoes, fruit, etc. so you can sample a few different things. I couldn't get enough of the carrot cake pancakes... absolutely phenomenal and everything I had hoped for with dessert-type pancakes. “Their gentleman’s spud was fantastic. A coating of crunchy shredded hash browns covers the omelet, giving it a distinctive look. The omelet has freshly cut onions, green peppers, and mushrooms along with well-seasoned steak. There is flavorful, gooey cheese in every bite because the cheese is well distributed.“

“Hidden gem on Irving Park Avenue in Schiller Park. I started with a bowl of the Cream of Broccoli soup and my guest had chicken noodle soup. Both were very good. I had the liver and onion dinner with mashed potatoes. My guest had the pork, with stuffing and mashed potatoes with gravy. Both dinners included dessert.“

The atmosphere was hectic and a bit loud on a busy Friday night, but as it got later into the evening, most of the big family/friend groups left, and we had a delicious intimate meal. The waiter was attentive and realized we wanted a slow, relaxing meal and followed our lead. Scallop appetizer, soups, and steaks were amazing. Did not care for the potatoes au gratin, which is a dish I usually love and was looking forward to. It had no flavor and almost tasted plastic. Our waiter brought me the mac and cheese, which had more flavor, and I happily finished. We have already decided to go back again in the fall and not let another 6 years go by until we visit again.“
