“Authentic beef sandwichesLoved the chili cheese dogsThey have lots of great sandwiches here in the building is phenomenal and the people that work for the Halsted Street deli are phenomenal and very very nice. I strongly strongly recommend this place“
“Love this deli so much I happily drive from Oak Lawn to get there. The Primo panini is my favorite but they are all top tier. Their canoli are quite possibly the best I have ever had. I buy two of their easter pies every year and my family goes nuts for them. If you haven't stopped in you are missing out big time. The staff is very friendly and warm like being around family.Parking: Free parking up and down the block both sides of the street“
“A wonderful Italian style deli. Deli contains authentic Italian meats. Prepared foods are Wonderful and staff is willing to accommodate to special requests. Hands down one of the most authentic grocery’s in the area, right down to the fresh hand made cannoli! Enjoy.“
“Minelli's was terrific.!!!The sandwiches were exceptional.!!!The service was awesome.!!!And the cookies are out of this world.!!!Everything I bought for the memorial service from Minelli's was perfect for the occasion, and the sandwiches received so many compliments !! Simply perfect!!Vegetarian options: I am not a vegetarian. However, I did notice vegetarian optionsWheelchair accessibility: Easy in and out... no problems!!“
“I just moved to the area and was looking for a great Gyro. Wow, did I find exactly what I was looking for. Spiro's is authentic, delicious and the owners and staff have tremendous pride in the food they make for their customers. I was set on an Gyro but the owner made me a sample of the Bomber to give me a taste of what I will order on my next visit - the bread was soft, gravy delicious and the beef thinly sliced with tons of flavor. If you are looking for a delicious sandwich or fries, Spiro's is a great spot.“
“Is a small gem in the neighborhood, when short on time for cooking this is my place to go not the other chain restaurants but here. The store has a bit of everything, including polish products which I love the polish kétchup. Please know everyone is appreciated and don’t go anywhere!Thank you!“
“My wife and I love coming to the Onion Roll for brunch! It was such a nice surprise finding this spot in recent years and we've enjoyed each visit subsequently. I always love the spaceman size Mr. Big or North Ave Nosh. Maria and Rafael are stars as well and offer wonderful, friendly service! This is an easy recommendation for anyone in the Austin or Oak Park areas!Kid-friendliness: Very nice kid menu options for a set price!“
“A huge thank you to the staff at Nottoli Italian Foods that worked yesterday! Our Sunrun crew worked in the rain and at the last minute, we ran into Nottoli Italian Foods to feed them. I wish I had everyone’s name however every, single employee did a phenomenal job to accommodate us at the last minute. Thank you so much!“
“Co-workers wanted to meet up for lunch and I am so glad they choose this place. They have some table and chairs inside, but it can be a tight fit during the lunch rush. The employees are helpful, and the place looked very clean. The menu has a lot of options, and I was happily surprised they have gluten free bread which was the best gluten free bread I have ever had a sandwich on. The contents on the sandwich were flavorful and you could tell they were fresh. It came with a side salad which had a great dressing on it. Overall, the meal was worth the price, and I would recommend trying them out yourself. I did spot a homemade galeto selection, but didn't indulge on this first trip, but I may need to check that out and report back in the future.“
“This is a Polish grocery store and delicatessen, located in Wood Dale.Just off Irving Park Road, it is easy to find.We went there to order Polish sausage, both smoked and fresh, for Christmas dinner. We also picked up pierogi, with three flavors: sauerkraut, cheese, and potato with cheese.Everything is fresh and tasty!Prices are in line with other stores. This will be a regular stop in the future.“
“The best place for Serbian meat in the Chicagoland area. I've been coming here for as long as I can remember, so I may be a bit biased, but I've yet to find a place that'll beat it! Zoran has always been very knowledgeable and courteous. I've been telling everyone I know to pay him a visit and I'm telling you the same!“
“Went in for lunch and had a polish sausage with caramelized onions, breaded pork chop, pierogis, and meat & mushroom sauerkraut. The sauerkraut and pierogis were divine. The sauerkraut is savory and bursting with flavor. Pierogis are a tradition in my family and these pierogis were great. They have a nice frozen variety of pierogis if you want to take some home. My girlfriend had the stuffed cabbage and she thought it was great. Will definitely be back for their fresh bread, pierogis and to try more delicious Polish food. Service was excellent, the place was run by 3 lovely Polish ladies. An older gentleman sat next to us and had gotten some cabbage soup that looked delicious. I'd love to try more of their food.Vegetarian options: There are some great cabbage dishes and other things just ask the nice ladies to point out the vegetarian dishes.Parking: It's a strip mall so tons of parking.Kid-friendliness: Lots of sweets for kids, employees seemed like wonderful middle aged women they are probably mothers themselves.“
“Quick story, my fiance and I started coming here for dates 7-8 years ago. It's her favorite lasagna ever and she grew up in a traditional Italian family. The quality here is impeccable. We moved a few years ago and we're in town today. We luckily made it in 15 min before they closed and it is just as good at any point of the day. The best and there's no competition.“
“Yearly tradition that I have to come here and buy the Paczki here. We have had them from other places and they don't taste the same as this place. They always take my order over the phone and have them ready on time. If you haven't tried them you are missing out! These are ??/??“
“This is the place to go for sausage! Make sure you are there super early if you go for ANY holiday!!Not a great place if you have fear of small places or get anxious around a lot of people.Pickles, suarkraut, polish sausage, hot bar, coffee bar, sweets..you name it.“
“I absolutely love Capri! Family owned deli store with lots of Italian goodies. Sweets, cheese, deli counter, freshly made pasta and pasta sauce, 00 flour, EVOO....they have it all! The service is always great and the family is so friendly. They don't accept credit cards. Cash/check only.“
“This store has everything you need! Mrs Lalich has a beautiful selection of home made sausages, hams, salamis and everything you miss if you grew up in Europe! She is a great person- to chat with , very sweet and makes you feel a rockstar because she remembers you, your name and your family members! Beautiful store owner with exceptional people skills! Highly recommend you give it a try!“
“First of all, Who doesn't Like Honey Baked Hams? I just talked to Mary (Morton Grove, IL location) who was very pleasant, let me tell her what I needed (which is very rare in this fast paced world we live in) and very helpful. I then talked to the New Mgr. Kevin, who was just as polite as Mary was. They walked me through the online ordering system and now I am pretty much worry free thanks to these two lovely people. Thanks again. Looking forward to meeting you both on pick up day! Happy Holidays to all.Kathy from Skokie, IL“
“4 star rating 9/4/2022Great food without the huge crowds. I think they cater food alot Gerry & I are Polish but do not speak it. Our parents never taught us & it is kind of hard to learn now in our 60's. We love the homemade foods & other store items. Parking is on the side of the building. I love the homemade dumplings but today they did not have them! I lost my voice on a temp basis & just wanted some comfort soft foods. I would have given 5 stars if they had the basics like the dumplings in the fresh hot foods. Cute place. I think we spoke to the new owner who took over some time ago. We are treated real good. Noone is ever rude to us. I will add that if you are Polish or not, no one should act rude to you. Speak to the owner.“
“The staff and owner greeted me and were extremely friendly throughout my meal. The owner shared in my excitement as I enjoyed the best turkey sandwich I've ever had. I was also given a sample of the corned beef and beef and cheddar sandwich to go. I can confidently say that this is the best quality deli I have had in recent memory and I don't think it's comparable to anything else in the area.Thank you AWC&D team for a wonderful experience! I'll see you soon.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access front row parking in front of door. No stairs or hazards“
“Looking for a quality meal in a mall food court is challenging. Halsted Street Deli had friendly service. We sampled the chicken noodle soup and found it tasty but not overly salty. It tasted like they made it there not from a can. The panninis were satisfying. We ate it in the food court and they were crunchy, not sure if they would stay that way.“
“Kendall greeted me at th3 door to acknowledge I came in. I told her I wanted a bone in ham. What were my options. 8 pounds was I interested in? I said maybe seven or eight pounds. She went into the refrigerator more than once to show me the size of the ham and the Turkey breast and I appreciate that. I like to see the shape to see how small or big it is, so I can see if it would feed my family. I appreciate all the hard work. I was amazed on how much knowledge she had of the honey baked ham store, plus how much temperature to put in the oven, and how to serve it. I was like wow, and she gave me a piece of paper. That also has information on how to cook and serve ham and turkey. I also noticed that she was always smiling. She really loves her job, She was friendly and polite. I appreciate all that That definitely would encourage me to come back. This was my first time ever coming and she made it very pleasant. Thank you soon much.“
“Great service, I have been in this store several times in the past 60 days, did an order for 15 people, on one trip and they have every sandwich and order correct, with individual names on the wrapper of each sandwich. Again excellent service and the times I went in for lunch everything was very good.“
“IT is a small little store and although it is categorized as a liquor store, it is so much more than that. They sell the absolutely best alfajores and for that alone it deserves all the stars in the world. It is reasonably priced and you are supporting a small business. I only had one of their empanadas and although I am not sure how fresh it is, it still beats other places that claim to sell Argentinian empanadas but it is anything but authentic. Here, the owners are very welcoming and they also have a great selection of Argentinian wines.“
“Ok, I went in for the first time to get a turkey sandwich and I have to say I loved the fresh taste ? the sandwich was damn near perfect, the right amount of everything the sandwich was well balanced I could taste all the flavors of the turkey, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and mayo. If you want a fresh sandwich stop by you won't regret it.“
“I gave it four star over three because I like getting breakfast from here as it is super convenient. Although the eggs on the sandwich is some sort of egg patty (on bagel $3.16). I then usually default to chili for lunch---jumbo chili is $3.96. The flatbreads are decent and salads are pretty good. The other reason this gets four stars is that the folks that work down there are great!“
