“Super Bowl Sunday, it was extremely busy! I walk in to pick up a take out order I had placed online for pick up. Hostess girl named Mia was keeping everyone informed of the wait times. Handling with respect even after I personally had watched someone yell at her about the wait. She was yelling orders as they were coming out, taking orders, answering the phone, and seating the door! I ordered Traditional wings and Boneless as I waited 63 minutes Mia was so kind to me and others about the wait time and was very understanding to rude costumers! Food was hot and fresh with the wait i patiently waited! I will be back! That girl deserves some recognition though and the manager Hannah who found my order! -Sarah“
“If you like Waffle House, you'll feel right at home here. It's a very typical diner setting. Probably one of the last places to have a smoking section back when it was acceptable (it doesn't anymore). Food was great. Great view of a busy street area for slight entertainment. There was even a homeless/sign holder guy out there on the corner. So you really get the full city feel, but in a diner setting. Excellent. The 4-star was because there's a juke box (completely unnecessary in an already packed house), that decided to turn itself on and really ruin the moment while me and my wife were trying to have lunch together. Get rid of it. It's a diner not a bar. Otherwise good place.“
“Cracker Barrel is a staple on each family trip, so we've been to a lot of them. The service at this Cracker Barrel was exceptional. The server had to return multiple times first because my daughter couldn't decide what to eat, then because my son kept dropping his fork. I felt terrible about it, but she kept coming back with a smile. The food was all well prepared and everyone left the table satisfied. When I checked out at the register, both employees were kind and helpful. The employees' happiness was reflected in their service and attitude. We will visit this Cracker Barrel again next time we pass through on a trip.“

But every time the young female manager working is so wonderful and double checks our order Everytime for accuracy, we just love her . But the new hostess with the blood hair, she just stood their and watched me stand at the front as she ignored me and three other people to continue to clean off a few tables for ten minutes then finally helped us work our to go orders ..“

“Sports bar with many TVs, great.place to watch baseball, hockey, college softball all on TVs around the place. Cannot comment on house brand drinks, but they have Blue Moon, my standard. The food was impeccable. Went two nights in a row; night one was Nashville Chicken sandwich nice crunchy/spicy outside with a tender inside. Night two was the Chicke Fajitas, I was expecting something like Chili's, but out came three made tacos stuffed with fajita makings. These things are tasty!! Will be back next time I'm in town.“

“I was there after what I assume is the busy time, so I had the dining room to myself. There was a steady stream of folks in the drive thru though. The "Deluxe Single Basket" was more than enough to fill me up. I had to buy a take-home pint, too full for dessert. The staff were friendly and at least one was always cleaning something.“
“Been going to Billy’s for 3 years now, ever since we moved into the neighborhood. I have had some outstanding meals there, equally important, I have never had a bad meal there! Meaning, the consistency at Billy Barooz is nothing short of phenomenal! Stand out meals I’ve had there include: the salmon, (in all its forms), the pasta dishes, the ribeye sandwich (which is my personal favorite), the Caesar salad, the fries, and wow, the sweet potato fries! I could go on but you get the point. As for the service, it is also exceptional. I have never had an issue with how my meal arrives or how I’m treated. Billy’s is, in my opinion, the “fine dining” version of a sports bar. In a town that has very few actual fine dining establishments, it’s nice to know that there is a handful of casual dining places that won’t disappoint when it comes to tasty meals in a comfortable, fun environment. “Had their Hot Beef Open Sandwich, my wife had a Cheese Burger and fries. Both were very good and big portions. We were seated quickly and our waitress was very kind and always checking on us to see if we needed anything. Love the old style mom and pops dinner feeling there, great food.“
“My boyfriend and I love trying new places and this was our choice last night. It was very good! I had the fried catfish, collard greens and french fries, he had the creole fettuccine pasta and we shared the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls as an appetizer. The egg rolls were so good, they came with a sweet n sour sauce you wouldn’t think would go together, but wow, it was a great mix. His pasta was cooked perfectly and with so many good flavors in the sauce and in the shrimp, I tried a bite and my tastebuds were dancing. The catfish was fried to perfection with a delicious light and crunchy breading which paired great with the collard greens. Not everyone had the talent to make good greens and well they do! We didn’t try the dessert because we were full from the generous portions served for dinner but it all sounded good. The staff was extremely friendly and our waitress was great too. We will be going back they had so much too choose from that sounded so delicious.“

“Stango Cuisine is (supposedly) the only Zambian restaurant in the country. The spot is somewhat difficult to find, but the vibe inside is elegant and comforting. I ordered Emma's platter (a sampler of their most popular entrees, which includes chicken curry, beef stew, and more) and the beignets. This ended up being around 40 bucks, which is quite expensive. Furthermore, it took around 30 minutes for the food to arrive on a not-so-busy Wednesday evening. However, I was absolutely blown away by the food. The rice and beans were unlike any that I've tasted-the rice had a beautiful fluffy texture and the beans were decadent. The greens were also delicious, as was the beef stew. I personally didn't love the chicken curry or the stewed potatoes, but everything else was delicious. The beignets were decent, but nothing to write home about. When I come back, I'll probably get the beef stew, though I'm excited to try the oxtail as well. Overall, this is easily one of the best restaurants in the Champaign area.“

“This was my 1st time at the farmhouse restaurant & I loved it. This place isn't like a Cafe or regular restaurant. You walk to the cashier & give them your order. Then they give you a number & bring the food to the table when done. There is free water but if you want something else you place an order at the coffee stand area. Then wait for your drink.There is a mezzanine & it's a more private setting. They have live music which I definitely will be checking out. I saw a drink menu so there's that while listening to the live band.My personal experience was great. Jo the cashier was amazing & such a sweetheart. The server was friendly and attentive, kept our drinks filled which is my primary indicator for deciding the level of tip. “This is a hard review to write... so I'm going to do the compliment sandwich thing, or at least try. The staff that have stuck around are amazing... they bust their butts and make great efforts to make everyone's meal as enjoyable as possible. It's clear they have a small core of very dedicated folk. The negative is the owners rely on the tipping minimum wage to get rich while stacking 11 restaurants between Wisconsin and Missouri. Champaign Applebees pays $14/hr minimum, the owner of the Savoy establishment has no excuse for robbing their employees like this. Sufficed to say the owners are janky af. The core staff there, in spite of all the negative, still bring their A game and smiles to the table every day; they are truly exceptional. Another positive... every single thing I've eaten there has been stupid delicious. I mean, ridiculous. Worth every penny, and there are a lot of really great deals on the regular. 2-5 PM and 9- closing is the best time for deals. Burgers are 8.99 on Mondays, too. If you can find understanding in your heart and keep in mind the folks that showed up are doing the best they can with what they're given, you will have a great experience. They'd never push you to tip, but I will. Show these awesome folks some love and they will be so grateful. Better yet, if you own a restaurant hire them (you won't regret it).“
