Kinslahger Brewing Company Brewery • $$
6806 Roosevelt Rd, Oak Park - 9.25 miles

“Stop in, you'll likely meet Paul or Keith behind the bar. Both serve and brew the beer you'll be drinking.Kinslager is a great room to stop in and have a beer or two. I usually bring some home, and growlers are a sealed 24? ounce sealed can!Kinslager consistently cares about the community that they curate in their little piece of the world. This makes for an amazing eclectic crowd - it's likely that more archaic knowledge passes through that tap room than the British Royal Society annual meetings in the 17th century.“

Whiskey Hill Brewing Company Brewery • $$
1115 Zygmunt Circle, Westmont - 6.72 miles

“Found out about this brewery in Westmont and came to try a few beers. It's in a pretty hard to find location in some industrial area, the worst thing about it. Whiskey Hill is a funny name, as this place has beer, not whiskey. Oh well, what they have is still good. There's a pretty good selection including some hoppy and sours. A lot of breweries are in kind of strange areas. It's the case with this one. This is located on Vandustrial in a building it share with some offices and whatever. Lots of trucking companies around here. There's semis parked along the street. Anyway, the beers. It's about $6 a pour. It's not quite a pint but whatever. Even so, a pretty good price for a small brewery. Has many to choose from. Best was the 7 Mile Bridge. It's a Belgian Weisse with key lime, toasted coconut, and vanilla. A lot of lime flavor. This is almost like a sour to be honest. A pretty strong one at 7% ABV. There's not a whole lot on tap, but they manage to have quite a bit for a microbrewery to be honest. Get some beers on tap or take some of the cans to go. It's a small place but when it's warmer they have a patio. There's no food but sometimes there's food trucks.“

Hop District Community Brewing Co. Brewery •
23 E 31st St, La Grange Park - 6.5 miles

“I recently discovered this place about a month ago, I love that they offer a variety of brews as many times you'll find that a brewery will focus on or put an emphasis on one particular style, but here there is just about something for everyone. The inside is very spacious with a large bar seating area as well as many tables. Regarding food options, I haven't tried anything yet, but I know that they have paired with the restaurant next door and the menu options look great. I love a good porter so my new favorite beer so far has to be the Dirt Mouth Porter, it's amazing. I look forward to becoming a regular“

Black Horizon Brewing Company Brewery • $$
7560 S Quincy St, Willowbrook - 4.3 miles

“I frequented over 67 breweries in Illinois and there is a man named Alex who is the head brewer and has amazing creativity there and has a big heart. I initially met Tony who is a Metalhead, kind, educated and a has strong beer recommendations to give all day. Amazing dude, he is the sales manager who doesn't make you feel anything but like you belong. I met who I thought was just a bartender named Derek, this man helped solidify this brewery for me as a top 3. He educated me in beer ingredients, processes and I found out he is one of the other brewers highly knowledgeable and kind. When I visited I met Kevin who greets you kindly and is a guy you must meet. Stephanie a kind woman who is great with people and what she lacks in height she makes up for with a big heart.I'm turning 40 this year and am excited to always meet new faces at this place. Charles is another owner who has his own form of kindness, but all together I love this place. They don't have a kitchen which I love but recently added pizzas which are a decent addition to have with beer. This brewery is such a warm place to stop and visit, their flagship is Midnight Fist Fight which is amazing. There is a great variety of beers. I got to meet the locals and connected with the BHBC regulars who are awesome.I'm a huge fan of the beer and service, it's a black owned brewery and I was stoked to support it.Their merch is I have purchased every shirt, hoodie, and hat they have marketed because Alex, Kevin, Tony, Derek, Steph and others there have made it a home for me. Every time I leave work, I hope to stop by for Alex's new creations. At age 39 I am a fan boy, they get busy sometimes like other breweries. Be patient and enjoy a top pick for product, staff and merch.“

Flapjack Brewery Brewery • $$
6833 Stanley Ave, Berwyn - 7.24 miles

“FlapJacks is a definite go to for wood fired pizza. Great atmosphere with canvas art and murals on the wall. Staff has an eclectic rock flare blaring in the background. Today's was a synchronousplay of team work from Paul and Tom as well as supporting staff. Tom made sure our order and drinks were place. He came around multiple times to ensure our request were met. Paul manned the wood fires oven. We requested our Grandma’s pie and Tavern style well done. A true master at his craft, he did not disappoint. Give Flapjacks a try, well worth the trip if needed. Not to mentioned the house brewed menu. We washed done our pizzas with nitro stout and hazy Ipa’s. Love love love - FLAPJACKS!!!“

Imperial Oak Brewing Brewery • $$
9526 Ogden Ave, Brookfield - 5.29 miles

“Came here late afternoon by myself while on a work trip. I got two flights and they really exceeded my expectations. With a flight I always expect to not care for at least one beer as much, but I really enjoyed each one I got. As someone who primarily sticks to fruit forward IPA’s or pale ales, the coffee/vanilla porter was amazing!“

Goldfinger Brewing Company Brewery • $$
513 Rogers St, Downers Grove - 8.08 miles

“If you want good lagers poured the right way, come here. Everything they make is great, and while it's a small menu, typically only 5 beers on tap, it's enough of a variety imo if their focus is on quality, which is seems to be. Whenever I come into Chicago, I make the pilgrimage to the berbs to visit Goldfinger.“

BuckleDown Brewing Brewery • $$
8700 47th St, Lyons - 4.65 miles

“Since I got a growler for my birthday a couple years ago, I needed to find a local brewery to start filling. Thankfully this place is so close, and the beer is so good and reasonably priced. Gotta go on Thursdays for the growler fill deal! I think it's $12? You really can't beat that for some locally sourced brew. Their IPA (Belt & suspenders) is supreme!“

Noon Whistle Brewing Brewery • $$
800 E Roosevelt Rd, Lombard - 11.07 miles

“Noon Whistle has always been a cool spot with some great beers, but they recently also launched a new food menu. Of course we had to try the pizza and it was so fricken good. We were there yesterday for lunch and I’m about ready to brave the -30 degree temps to go eat the same lunch again. You have to check it out.“

Pollyanna Brewing Company - Lemont Brewery • $$
431 Talcott Ave, Lemont - 8.4 miles

“Wow, just Wow! Taproom was beautiful. Beer was awesome. The guy hosting trivia had everyone enjoying themselves… but the crown jewel of this place was the bartender, Randy. He was attentive, friendly, and SUPER knowledgeable… He asked our tastes, and recommended the PERFECT beer for each person in our party. If I could leave 10 stars, I would. This was my first experience here, and surely won’t be my last. EXCELLENT beer and EVEN BETTER service!!!!“

One Allegiance Brewing Brewery • $$
10215 S Harlem Ave, Chicago Ridge - 4.03 miles

“This place was an absolute lifesaver of sociable mental health during the rise and height of the pandemic back in 2020/2021. With the pretty awesome outdoor setup/beer garden, we were able to socially distance and yet still be around others and feel like we or still part of the communities around us. It fulfilled the need we had a social creatures to be around others, but to do so in a safe way.Now that we are on the other side of the pandemic with it's decline & the need to be socially distant isn't as necessary, this place has a hidden gem inside with board games, and weekly fun such as bingo and trivia nights. I would recommend asking for samples of the beers before you get a whole glass, because some of them may surprise you in flavor by how tart or heavy they are. This brewery does not take their flavorfulness of their beer lightly. ? They even sell jugs of their beer that you can take home, and the jug has their logo on it (as well as merch), so it is a nice souvenir to keep even if for the memories.....or you can bring the jug back in for an inexpensive refill. The banquet hall that was next door was torn down, so it is much easier to see the brewery from Harlem Ave, since it's set back quite a bit from the main roadway. I could even see this place being used for a wedding/party venue for their outdoors appeal.“

“Milk Money Brewing is too cool for downtown Lagrange, but I still appreciate its' presence nonetheless. It's a local brewery with great drinks on tap, good cocktails, and yummy food. I happen to go there during sunset and it was brutal through the glass window, but that isn't so much their fault, just be mindful of the time of day. It's a family friendly place too, so feel free to bring your kids to get some food as well. I'd definitely recommend them!“
