“Always great and fresh sushi here. Keep in mind this isn't a sit-down spot and is strictly a take out place. Not much options if you were to walk in as you are required to order ahead (which can take some time ~ buffer at least 60 minutes ahead)Parking: Somewhat difficult depending on time. The free parking lot doesn't have a lot of space.“
“Cute little place in downtown Wilmette. Amazing Thai food - fresh, tasty, reasonable prices and great service. Orange chicken always a big hit with the kids. Highly recommended for dine-in and take-out.Vegetarian options: Tofu with mixed veggies was delicious.“
“I've been going to Akai Hana since I was a little kid. It's the place I look forward to most in the North Shore area! The sushi is always fresh and the noodle dishes are exceptionally good. I love the spicy beef nabeyaki udon and cold udon especially. My sister and brother love the udon noodle soup. The service is always great here, and the restaurant is clean and pleasant. I love it and will continue to be a returning customer for as long as I can be!“
“Aji is an absolutely tremendous omakase experience. True to concept, every element of the presentation has been thoughtfully composed - not just in each delicious plate, but also the ambience, the drink menu, and the restaurant itself. Chef Rick puts a remarkable amount of thought and care into the curation of the menu, and every bite has a harmony of beautiful flavors and textures. I'm absolutely going back, and I've already told all my friends to check it out.“
“Q Sushi absolutely lives up to the reviews. The atmosphere is cute, not stuffy or pretentious, and very welcoming. The service was phenomenal. Really personable, friendly staff. We did the omakase menu and everything was fantastic and we were SO full by the end. 5 stars all around.“
“Food was mostly good, but very overpriced. Did not feel like the quality was top notch for being one of the best outposts for fresh sushi from Japan. The hand rolls were all somewhat soggy, the nori was not that crisp sheet you expect from a hand roll. Probably would not come back unless begged to.“
“Absolutely incredible place!! It's definitely the best sushi and Thai on the north side of Chicago. We usually go to Hot Wok Cool Sushi or other places further into the city. -Not after today! This place was fantastic. The service was great - they were so friendly. And the food and presentation was phenomenal. It blew away any place that we went to before. It's the first place that all 4 members of my family agreed was awesome. We will definitely be back soon!“
“Awesome veggie maki rolls. I’m usually very hesitant to try new places because I love my regular spot but I’m so glad I did. The lunch special prices are amazing. Cant recommend enough.Update: if I could eat here every day, I would. One of my new favorite restaurants in the entire city.“
“I'd wanted to come to a place like this for a while. Saw places like it online but didn't know there was one in Chicago. Went with my daughter and had a great time. Friendly service, really great sushi options, and grabbing your own plate is just so fun. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.“
“Lawrence fish market always hits the spot. I don’t think I’d ever get tired of them! I don’t know how many times I’ve ordered from them before, but I’ve definitely ordered 6+ times. My man and I always get some kind of Maki tray and some extra rolls. 10/10, so worth it. It’s cash only btw!!“
“Recently tried Sushi Hall and loved it. Such a cool new spot in Lincoln park with a speakeasy bar. Really like the colors and vibes of this place . The service is also quick and the staff is friendly. The food was a 10/10. Unforgettable taste, impeccable craftsmanship, and a symphony of freshness await you at Sushi Hall. This is probably my FAVORITE spot I've been to recently. It has an outdoor patio too, making it the perfect spot for SUMMER. We tried the Hamachi on the Hall, The Friends Night Out, The Moulton, Gyoza, and Togarashi Fries. Each dish was so flavorful and the portion sizes were good too. Hamachi on the hall was my absolute favorite. I will definitely be back to try other things on their menu.“
“We had dinner here before seeing a show nearby. It's pretty low brow in terms of service / ambiance but the sushi was really fantastic! we had the Red Monster & pop cracker rolls. Really yummy! You have to be in the mood for BYOB, sometimes you really want a nice crafty martini shaken for you but in this case it was perfect for our group. I'm really excited to have a new option other than our usual place. We have ordered take out since we dined in last month and it's been great. Def recommend.“
“AMAZING food! Service was also top notch - friendly and attentive. Owners told stories about the food and sought out feedback from us on what to improve. They have their customers in mind and is reflective in their food. Everything we ordered was phenomenal!! Highly recommend!“
“This was my first time here and the food was overall good I think the all you can eat is definitely worth it. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and attentive. It was very loud the day I went the were tables put together for a big party that had kids at it and it was really annoying and not very enjoyable to be there with all the noise. Food: chicken karaage was my least favorite I wasn't a fan of the batter and the texture/flavor was not what I expected. I really enjoyed my sushi rolls and the ramen was good for the most part it was basic and I added some additives (fish cakes (upcharge to add), corn and bean sprouts)“
“Awesome place! One of the best sushi restaurant in northshore. I’m so happy I found this place. Food - especially sushi and sashimi are fresh and delicious.Staffs are friendly and nice, too. Highly recommended!!분위기도 좋고 음식도 맛있습니다.“
“Fantastic spot for a delicious and enjoyable Japanese meal ?!!!Ekiben was a wonderful dining experience! From the moment I walked in.... the atmosphere was cosy and inviting. The staff was friendly and helpful, offering recommendations on the menu.I had the salmon teriyaki don. It tasted so fresh and flavorful. The ingredients were perfectly cooked and delightful ?.While the food was delicious, I'm also very optimistic that they will continue to innovate and introduce exciting new dishes in the future. ? For example, chef's choice section on the menu where they can showcase their culinary creativity, or loyalty program to reward frequent customers would be excellent (hopefully I don't ask them too much?)I truly enjoyed my experience at Ekiben, and I will definitely revisit and try another dish ?.“
“The absolute best sushi I've had anywhere. Not only is the sushi fresh, hence the name, but the chef is a true master of his craft. The owner and staff couldn't be more genuine as they provide the most welcoming atmosphere. Do yourself a favor and give this place a try, especially if you are unsure about sushi. This place will have you hooked within the first bite.“
“In my view, Ora is far and away the best sushi spot in Chicago, and among the best restaurants period. The quality of the fish and the attention to detail in preparation are outstanding. On top of that, they've got great service, reasonable prices, and it's BYOB. If you haven't tried it, give it a shot, you won't be disappointed!“
“I always recommend it for the variety, assortment and prices. The best offers. In food without competition.Vegetarian options: For every taste.Dietary restrictions: Choice. There's a lot.Parking: Spacious and comfortable...Kid-friendliness: YeahWheelchair accessibility: Very good“
“Absolutely my favorite sushi place on the planet. It is always my go-to sushi place for sushi night. I don’t live close but travel when I can! Just started a new job downtown and have a feeling I’ll be stopping by more often on my way home.“
“The location is always kept clean, it is small and it is easier to take-out. The staff are SO friendly and patient! The portions are very generous and the prices speaks for it. Everything tastes fresh. I order pick up and it’s always ready before or by when I get to the location. Pick up/takeout is most common!“
“The sushi was surprising, innovative and delicious! Sake flight was a highlight. Seating was comfy and our waitress was super nice. It could have been a tad darker in there in terms of lighting.Would recommend trying a classic maki as well as one of the four-piece sashimi options. (I was skeptical of fish wrapped around fruit, but after one bite I was a believer ? I was also a fan of the pickled onion and scallion in the maki) Our favorite signature was the red dragon.“
“Had a fantastic time with my teenager, my brother, and brother in law. We all lived our food. The Dynamite was DYNAMITE tasting!! The Ramen bowls were huge and so yummy! Our server was lovely and atmosphere was cool. They served cans of soda with glasses of ice, but we were happy to have fresh pop. It was all very affordable and I can't wait to go back!“
“Ordered from them for some quick lunch. Prices were unbeatable, and the quality of food was incredible. Really can tell a lot about sushi just from the rice, and the rice was spot on. Would highly recommend giving them your business. They are take-out only at this time though. Thank you so much for a delicious lunch!“
“What a great place! I can recommend it for celebrations, date or just sit by the bar and enjoy great food and drinks. We’ve been in this place many times and never disappointed. Great selection of delicious drinks, I always get their Old Fashioned.Food:You can tell everything is fresh and high quality, I always like to get oysters because they have delicious ones. You must try oyster shot it’s worth every single penny. Besides that great appetizers like fried Gyoza or spicy edamame. You won’t be regretting taking their sushi rolls either.Highly recommend!Parking: You can go to underground parking lot that is free of charge and you can access that parking from Summit ave“
“This place is a great boil place! Shrimp, various crabs, variety seafood, potatoes, corn, and corn bread. They also are experts at pouring the bag into a bowl, didn't spill one drop. Never seen anything like it! I love this place, highly recommend!!!“
“Great place for sushi, great drinks. I loved the green tea creme brûlée. Service is a bit slow cause there are only a few servers but I’ve come back cause I love it so much.Dietary restrictions: I am a bad vegan and they had plenty of vegan options and they were spectacular!“
“Chef Roberto and team are always super welcoming - whipping up amazing margaritas (I’m usually a sake guy, but I’ve gotten margs to go before, don’t judge me), and a delicious selection of sushi, sashimi, hand rolls and more. Our kids love it too - very family friendly (but even better for a date night away).“
“Everything we ate was delicious! Highly recommend the miso black cod, I'd come back just for that! The maki rolls were also great (Crisp Sake & Tako Maguro), as was the nigiri (Eel Trio). I'd love to return to try the Chef's Choice Nigiri“
“wowwww what a place!!!! What a mix of emotions!! Ever since I enter the restaurant I felt like I was in Japan. Really good environment, good place and better service!! There was a server with long hair, I think it was Ernesto that was amazing, best service I received in Miami so far. Will come back for sure. The bartender Lucas is too cute!! And Noah omg!!!! I felt in love. Really great people, enjoyed a lot my lunch, will be back soon! Thank you Ernesto!!!“
“Not bad, but definitely not so good. The sashimi is good quality and delicious, however that’s the end of the good part.We also ordered curry udon, basically all appetizers, and a couple sushi rolls. The appetizers are okay except the Dashi tofu is meh. Sushi roll is good. Udon is quite insulting, it tastes blend, doesn’t have the key ingredients to make it an authentic curry udon, huge disappointment.Given the quality of the food, I think the the price is definitely on the pricier end than it should have been. One other thing that bothers me a lot is the decoration inside are non-Japanese related theme when it is a Japanese restaurant.Overall, not a bad place to visit. Granted, this is probably the best somewhat affordable Japanese restaurant within blocks, but surely won’t be the first couple places to revisit for me.Kid-friendliness: This place provides high chair“
“came here last night, on a saturday nightit was so packed! but the servers was on the flygive us everything we need just when we neededvibes was warm and homey small local restaurantsat on the bar and let the chef made the food for you (omakase way)mind you, omakase is never CHEAPand eating sushi in GENERAL is not CHEAP tho not expensive if u just order from the regular menuwe had 2 signature appzfish n chips & seared tuna saladlemme tell u those were so yumm and refreshingafter that we had 2 signature rollsfresh wasabi roll & salmon truffle rolleverything was fresh and the sauces was something i've never tried beforeand the sashimi cut pretty thick, the otoro just melt in your mouthafter that we had toro truffle roll their "todays special"it felt like i was eating wagyu beef tho it was all fish in it!and the server gave us complementary mochi ice creamat the end our bill was only $150 something for 2 pplwhich is not expensive at all for omakaseand we left with a full belly, which i've never had after having omakaseand (psst! dont forget to bring your own bottle) that was the "cheapest way" part, compare to buy $30-40/bottle of wine in a restaurantwill obv come back!“
“Got some pretty great sushi from this place on Broadway. It's tiny inside, and makes sense they limit dining in. Nano has mostly things for takeout. Especially at lunch. The prices for the fancier rolls can get expensive but are still pretty good it seems. Came to get a few things to go. It's only open for takeout at lunch. They open the inside for dinner though. Only a few tables are inside. Really cramped so not sure I would even want to. It's about $14 for the specialty rolls. Some of these are vegan. One is the Black Forest Maki. This is asparagus, avocado, cucumber, oshinko, and spinach wrapped in fried tofu. Good big roll filled with lots of vegetables and fresh. This was a pretty impressive one and was worth the kind of high price. Has lots of great sushi to choose from. It's only open for takeout most times. There's a few of the specialty rolls that are okay for vegans and vegetarians.“
“This place is fantastic. Best sushi I’ve had in years. They use real sushi rice and sell actual grated wasabi. Fantastic price for how high quality it was. I really enjoyed the balance of the rolls as well… a great amount of fish and other components in proportion to the rice. Ramen broth had an excellent rich and clean flavor as well, and the noodles were perfectly cooked. This is my new favorite spot for Japanese.“
“I usually got no time to leave reviews but I’m making time just because I was beyond happy and all my guests with this catering that I made today … starting with placing the order being helped with all the details than the day of pickup being ready just in time and with the quality of it hands down… super delicious and very affordable. Totally recommended. It will be my place from now one for my sushi nights. Thank you so much for existing and keep it up the great job“
“A delicious and affordable Japanese restaurant. Sushi and maki rolls are very fresh. They have very attentive and helpful staff. We have eaten in the restaurant and gotten take-out. Quality of food has always been excellent. This is my favorite place for sushi in EvanstonParking: Paid street parking on Main Street or Chicago. You can find free street parking on side streets if you are willing to walk“
“Gigi is the absolute best. Customer service here is a 12/10 and the food matches. This is becoming one of my favorite restaurants in all of Chicago. Unexpected but honestly some of the best fish I've ever eaten. The value is definitely here in terms of quality and service.“
“The food delicious , sushi was very tasty . The desserts were pretty good . My family and I enjoyed the atmosphere here as well as the delicious sushi rolls . We got spicy salmon, spider roll ,caterpillar ,kamikaze ,chili mango . All very delicious .“
“I recently had Ruk cater an event and they were amazing to work with- the food is great, they were SO accommodating, and created beautiful sushi trays within my budget. In addition to ordering take out and dining in, I will absolutely be using them for catering again!“
“Went here today with my family.. 4 kids involved… i have to say this place knocked it out of the park. The woman serving us could not have been nicer & more helpful with the kids . The food was great, reasonable prices, clean, great lunch special. We live in the neighborhood and i’m so happy to have found our neighborhood spot!! I also loved how many options they had for veggies rolls!“
“I recently dined at this delightful Japanese/Thai fusion restaurant, and it was a flavor-packed experience. The Spicy Creamy Tom Yum Noodle broth was rich, tangy, and had just the right amount of heat. The egg noodles were perfectly cooked, and the fragrant aromatics—garlic, chilies, and kaffir lime leaves—elevated the dish. And fav dish was Yakiniku don. The savory-sweet yakiniku sauce tied everything together. It was comfort food at its finest. The Beef Tongue was our adventurous choice. Thinly sliced and grilled, it had a unique texture—tender but slightly chewy. The marinade was flavorful, and the hotstone grill made it even more enjoyable (10/10 for this dish!!)“
“Ordered takeout from Nobori for an outing. Nothing fancy, just California Rolls, spicy tuna, and shrimp tempura rolls. All were excellent. Very tasty and fresh. I ordered during a busy dinner time and they still were ready very quick. I will be back to try the harder to make items.... Five stars.“
“Food was delicious and not over priced. The spicy spider was absolutely delicious! Not really spicy just completely flavorful! The service was wonderful, the waitress was very friendly. The atmosphere however was very outdated, It could use some remodeling, It looks like an old cafeteria.“
“Jin is my absolute FAVORITE place to grab lunch. It is truly a hidden gem. The crab ragoon is the best I have ever had. Its my favorite thing!!! Although, everything I have tried is amazing. The serving sizes are so generous and the food is so fresh and clean, not greasy. Its the BEST! You have to give it a try!“
“We absolutely the food, service, and vibe at Jimoto and have been here a number of times. Last night we went with friends (& fellow sushi-lovers) who experienced Jimoto for the first time. They also loved it and swore to return soon. We went for the "Happy Hour" and were happy we did. We ate our weight in sushi rolls and cucumber salad. It was a very nice, delicious, and moderately-priced dinner, even with six glasses of wine and a beer. We will be back soon; Happy Hour or not.“
“Really good small ramen restaurant. Sat in here on a rainy sunday evening by myself. Very kind staff, incredible chicken katsu ramen with a rich and beautiful broth. Stylish japanese style seating and lighting. Music plays quite quietly which makes it a great place for people who are easily overwhelmed or wish to eat somewhere that music doesnt overpower their voice when they chat with a companion. The green tea i ordered came in a large and pretty cup i enjoyed sipping on, and the egg rolls i ordered to go were very crispy and delicious. I definitely would like to go back and try more of their menu soon, and hopefully with one of my ramen enjoying friends!!!“
“The sashimi here is fabulous. I have ordered take-out several times in the past, and it's always been wonderful. I am a bit remiss as since I order take-out, I do not tip. They have thus stopped sending coupons. However, on the Clover App they still give discounts. I can't tell you how highly I recommend this place, and I've lived in SF & NYC so know good sushi!“
“Over the years, Indie Cafe has been amazingly kind and thoughtful in their service, and their food preparations and presentations always go above and beyond all of my expectations. From quadruple-checking whether or not a menu item is gluten-free, to recommending the best wine/sake pairings for an entrée, their staff have always ensured that I've left their restaurant knowing that I was appreciated as a customer. And welcomed as a friend. Maya is hands-down one of the most excellent servers I've had the pleasure of dining with. She always goes above and beyond with her level of professionalism and attention, and her personality is lovely as well! Given the quality of their sashimi, the creativity behind their menu, and the warmth in their hearts? I look forward to dining with them for many years to come.“
“Went to Gorilla Sushi in Jefferson Park today for lunch. Really enjoyed it! Many of the rolls are so reasonably priced. Really enjoyed the spider roll and especially the Miami roll. The sauces they use on their rolls are spicy and flavorful. Glad we dined in rather than getting take out. The service at lunch was very good. Also, the chai coffee I had paired well with the sushi. I plan on coming back soon!Parking: Plenty of places to park on the street by the restaurant.“
“Don't be fooled by the appearance! Behind the modest dining area with 3 tables and a narrow counter is hiding an amazing Japanese chef who is not only brilliant in delivering the highest quality of sushi and sashimi, cooking delightful hot dishes but also pays close attention to the presentation of his creations. My sashimi selection was delightful and miso soup very tasty. The nice nod to the classic Japanese cuisine was a delicious assortment of Japanese pickles. My husband loved the incredible dressing of the house salad, the right consistency of the egg rolls, and the freshness of the shrimp tempura roll. He was particularly fond of the rich flavor of his gyoza. Kelly made us feel very welcome at her restaurant. We cannot wait to be back at this hidden gem! Bravo, Akira-San! Save our table“
