“We had lunch today at Thattu. It was bustling with almost every table full, but the tables have ample space between them and it wasn’t too loud. The beautiful exposed brick and huge windows cast a warm glow on the modern dining room. They nailed Indian flavors without being heavy or greasy, and the fun fusion dishes we tried, like Indian-spiced tater tots with sulfur salt and beet ketchup are well executed and a lot of fun. It would be easy to eat healthy at Thattu, and I enjoyed the vegetarian combo with vegetable curry, rice, beans, and sauteed Brussels sprouts with coconut. We also tried the fried chicken with dill sauce, and the catfish.Guests order through an app at Thattu, and the cost is inclusive of service. They don’t accept tips. At lunch, you grab your own flatware, napkins, and water from a bar in the dining room. We didn’t mind this.One particularly nice touch was that when we arrived, there were no tables available, and we agreed to sit at the bar. The host said he would let us know if a table became available, since sometimes guests cancel very close to their reservation time. Lucky for us, about 10 minutes after we arrived, the host brought us to a table. It was kind of him to remember our preference and work on that for us. Googling the restaurant later, I realized that the handsome host was co-owner Vinod Kalathil. She can't eat spicy-hot food, and ordered the Curry Plate with Chicken Traditional and Lamb Traditional, very mild. She loved it. We had an order of Samosas, which were the best I've ever had. With a very nice crust, not oily, and fully stuffed with garlicky mashed potatoes and peas. I ordered Cauli Madness, because I love cauliflower and spicy food. It's a side, but comes with rice, or paratha. I got the rice, so it's good as an entree, and it's a very large portion. We also ordered garlic naan which was fresh and hot, and delicious. “Tonight, the Wife and I asked for a table of 4, saw multiple tables open. Host replied with "Looks like we're not going to have table free for the rest of the night." Our 2 friends walked in about 5 minutes after us for a table, Host proceeds to not automatically deny them and asks the servers. Servers apparently had a problem with having another table until another server came worked it out. Finally, Wife and I walk back in to join our friends and overhear 2 servers discussing with the host about not seating anyone after 9pm (they close at midnight btw) Great to know that you wanting to close early is more important than actually doing your jobs and making easy money (we only got drinks and 2 apps) Pathetic, will not come back. “I've driven past this place often for the last few years but never visited. I did for the first time a few days ago and have been back a few times! I love the vibe, the inside is gorgeous and cozy, and the patio is dog friendly. Adam, the co-owner and roaster, is a lovely human and easy to talk to and its obvious how much he cares about his craft. This is one of my new favorite spots on the entire north side! The baked goods were also tasty and I sampled my friend's rosemary lavender caramel Latte and it was so good! much more understated than the title might have you believe. “The coolest bar in Rogers Park! They have a small but fun cocktail selection, great beer & cider selection, super super friendly staff and the best vibes. They have no food but you are allowed to bring any takeout you want or you can directly order to your table from any restaurant you want. Such chill vibes honestly. We were here as a huge group last week for our friends birthday party (about 40 of us) and our waiter has been a saint with taking sssoooo many orders and hand delivering them to the correct person, and with the most fun attitude too! “Three things I very much liked about our dining experience at Frasca:1.) Kids eat free everyday from 4pm to 6pm.2.) High quality ingredients. We got the funghi wood oven pizza and chicken parm and they were both great. Reasonably priced for such high quality fare.3.) PISTACHIO GELATO! Do not sleep on it. Do not take this off the menu. I beg of you. It was just so elegant. The roasted pistachio matched well with the level of sweetness it has. Usually pistachio ice creams are chalky. Even the expensive ones. This one was silky. “We went to Farm Bar last night with another couple and it was so delicious I had to write a review. We started with the cheese curds and we all agreed that they are the best we have ever had. Then we had the salad that was on the Specials list. It was a smear of ricotta cheese with butter lettuce, peas, asparagus, watermelon radishes and a very light, tasty vinaigrette dressing. So fresh and flavorful. The owner came by our table and has a huge farm in Wisconsin so everything is so fresh and menu changes with seasons. My husband had the catfish. He is a southern boy and he loved it. Huge portion as well! Two of us had the cavatelli. Fresh pasta and layered with textures and flavors. And one of us had the burger. He said it was a great burger. Service was very friendly and we didn't feel rushed. Highly recommend Farm Bar!! Can't wait until the summer and the rooftop opens.“

“Burger and wine by the Glass for $21! Burger and Old fashioned cocktail for $21. We went to Webster Wine bar because it made the top 15 Chicago burger list. We were not disappointed! On Wednesdays there is a special for the burger and any drink for $21. What a deal! Our burgers came out quick and were delicious. They used Slagel Farm’s beef, and SHARP cheddar cheese instead of American. I love cheddar over American cheese any day. First time to Logan square and it was charming with the wide boulevards. Wine bar looks over the park and is very sophisticated. The wine list was impressive. Classy little place! Great for date night.“

“We stopped in one afternoon to Harmony Coffee Bar. You know what harmony is ? A combination of things or parts that forms a connected and unified whole. That just about sums up our visit to this adorable cafe. I ordered the Gold Crush Latte which is topped with Dalgona which melted into the latte giving it a slightly sweet and mellow flavor. My companion ordered an iced Gold Crush Latte so they could enjoy the Dalgona as it slowly released its sugary cookie flavor into the coffee beverage. As we savored our drinks in the pleasant and cozy seating, they prepared our Croffle, a combination of croissant and waffle, and it was crispy and buttery and caramelly. All in all, a harmonious mix of flavors and textures that added up to a very pleasant midday interlude.“

“I have enjoyed beer from Alarmist Brewing in the past, but on a recent sunny Saturday afternoon my love and I decided to finally visit Alarmist Brewing and Taproom. It is situated in Sauganash on Peterson, just about two blocks west of the Pulaski bus terminus. There is a free parking lot in case you are driving here. They have an outdoor patio, but we gladly grabbed seats in the taproom that faced out the "front window" for great people and dog watching. The menu lists two different flights, and we went with the Hoppy Flight with six 4-ounce pours. They don't serve food, but the staff was fine with us bringing in some sandwiches and chips to eat.“

The first impression was the very friendly and efficient staff. Lovely to deal with! Then the meal...no fast food flavors here, it tasted more like homemade! Every aspect of our dinner was delicious: chicken, cornbread muffins, slaw and Caesar salad. No doubt we will be back to try something else!“
