“Very good service, the servers were always refilling our drinks and taking our finished plates! The food itself was pretty alright but I came in at a bad time because the rice, which is probably my favorite thing to get at these restaurants, was almost empty and the rice never got refilled while I was there :( the last bit of rice I scooped up for my plate had some really hard grains in it so it wasn't very enjoyable to eat. Other than that, all the other food was tasty and the soft serve ice cream they had was a tasty dessert!“
“Best take out Chinese in Louisville. The food is always served fresh, hot and fast. The portions are huge! There are several other Chinese takeout places closer to my house but I will drive the extra miles to get food from Oriental Cafe. The hibachi chicken is my favorite.Just updating to say that this is still my favorite place to go for Chinese takeout. The owners there are so sweet and friendlyOver the past 7 years I have discovered many new favorite dishes, that I honestly can’t pick just one. I don’t think there is probably anything on the menu that doesn’t taste great. The delivery drivers are always friendly and fast when they bring food to my place of employment. They recently have started doing catering and the office I work in has used it. Even with the all the large portions of entrees, lomein noodles, fried rice an appetizers, the food was hot, fresh and amazing, and arrived right at the time we asked for it to be. The delivery driver that brought all of the food was very friendly and helpful. And I love that I can also order from DoorDash to have it delivered to my home.“
“We tried China Coast before 2020, and it was very good. Small location, take-out only, and delivery. At some point, we'd heard a rumor they had closed. Finally confirmed they were indeed open for business, so we ordered. Ordered General's Chicken and S&S Shrimp. Got an extra egg roll as well. While the bill was $23, the portions were large, and more than we could finish. Everything was hot fresh and very good. Called the order in on the way home work, thought I'd gotten there way early, but they were finishing up as I walked in. We will definitely order from them again!!“
“My companies goto place for great Chinese food.Lunch specials are filling and well priced.Bento Boxes are packed with food.Food is made quickly, I can order and leave to go pick it up and it is usually ready.Best lo mein I have had, very flavorful and soaks up the sauces from entrees.Vegetarian options: tofu entrees, veggie stir fry, veggie spring roles, salad with ginger dressing.“
“They have the best crab ragoon in the city. I've tried so many other places and nobody's gets close. I love everything else I get here too from my veggie fried rice to their egg foo yung. They're always quick and really nice.“
“I don’t normally leave reviews, but in this case I feel I need to. This is the best Chinese food I’ve had since I’ve been in Louisville! Food is great and everyone is so nice! Thank you so much for the great customer service and the food is absolutely amazing!“
“Cute little Chinese place. Good was definitely fresh and delicious. It comes with fried rice with nothing added.I ate in but was disappointed that I still got my meal in a to go container with plastic flatware. There only atmosphere was a large, loud, big screen TV sitting on one of the tables. All in all, I would do takeout again but not ready in.“
“My overall rating is based mostly on the food, which is why you come in the first place. I think the food is pretty good and while I've only tried a small portion of the menu what I've had has been good to very good. It's prepared fresh to order, it's hot and the portions are large enough for most people.Unfortunately the service falls short. No one here acts as if they're glad you came. I've never seen any employee smile. They just go about their business and you can tell their main business is carry out because if you're dining in prepare to be treated as second class. You'll be waiting as they are constantly packing up to-go orders or on the phone taking orders. The phone is a priority over customers in the restaurant; if you've been waiting and the phone rings they are going to answer the phone first. Now once you're seated and they've taken your order the food comes out reasonably quick but no one will stop by your table after that to check on you. I've been here multiple times and it's always the same. The food and value are what keep me going back but the service is lacking unless you have plenty of patience. As for the restaurant itself, it's very basic and clean.“
“Definitely the best Nepali food you can get in all of Kentucky. I live in Lexington- and my friends and I travel all the way to Louisville every week just for some food from Chamling! Their must haves: Chili momo, Jhol momo, Pork Sekuwa, and Chowmein. Also, the owners are just as amazing as their food!“
“This place was amazing. I am so glad we stopped here to eat yesterday. The kimchi was the best I have ever had. My daughter wanted to try it for the first time and we both liked it. She ordered shabu pot and said it was very good. I ordered hunan tofu and it was delicious. We also split a sushi roll that was very good. Trinity tried the strawberry milk tea with boba. The man who waited on is was very nice, helpful, and just all around awesome. We will be back! I've been telling people since yesterday that they should go too.“
“Wonderful establishment that was a perfect selection for our dining group of 8 on a Wednesday evening. Service was fantastic starting with happy hour at the bar and continued as we migrated to our dining table and throughout the evening. The vegetable spring roll was a great selection as an appetizer and was tightly packed with crisp tender cabbage, carrot, and spices and wrapper was just-right and crunchy. This was accompanied with the pomegranate cocktail, which tended toward being sweet and just shy of syrupy. Choice of entree was mahi mahi on a bed of vegetables and vermicelli noodles in a nicely spicy heat curry sauce. Bowls of white, brown, and fried rice were brought to the table and very welcomed to take advantage of the sauce. The property has ample and easy parking located off of Lexington Road near Grinstead Drive. The restaurant is open and airy and noise level was mild, which was wonderful for our dinner conversation. Happy to return and to recommend based on the quality and value.“
“This is a great little restaurant ! They have a hot braised chicken dish, that you can't find anywhere. I ate this same dish at a place for decades, that is no longer open. To say I had high hopes for it, is a an understatement. I was not disappointed. The Lo mein was also spectacular. The service was quick and polite. My wife and I drive 20 minutes to try this place and I'll definitely be back !Highly recommend“
“I haven't been here for a while, since I live a good distance away. This place is a very large step up from the average overly sweet, overly oily, Asian fast food that I generally find.I got an eggroll and chicken lo mein. They have the real, curiously hard to find, light-you-up Chinese mustard at the table. (It's so disappointing when you're expecting the real thing and get the fake stuff.)The lo mein was really good. It was full of chicken and the variety of veggies one would expect from a quality plate of lo mein.“
“This was our favorite "shitty" Chinese. It is not shitty at all. The pieces of pork in the fried rice take it to the next level. Service was quick even though the restaurant was super busy. We were able to talk to another patron that has been coming here for 40+ years. That kind of loyalty is amazing. I get it though. The egg roll was hot, crispy, and delicious. Even after a 15 minute drive home. We ordered general tsos and it was delicious as expected. I'm excited to return to taste the spicier dishes. Highly recommend!“
“The food is Great! The food is Great because they cook the order as it comes in, So it is not as fast as other fast food pick up's. Still they do have a drive through. It is worth the extra 5 minutes for this food.Kid-friendliness: They are very nice here!“
“My favorite Chinese spot. I've gotten Mongolian beef, pepper chicken (my fav!!), sesame chicken and avocado roll. I love their food! It's a smooth 30 minute drive from my house but I go about every 2 months if not more. I usually order with plain white rice. I also like the crab Rangoon! I want to try some of their tofu next. I think it's a great spot. I usually get uber eats of it if I'm not feeling up to the drive.“
“High quality, delicious, typical Chinese food menu. So good! Huge servings (enough for another full meal)! Piping hot! Can’t compliment enough!! Only have two tables to eat at inside. Most customers carried food out. We will definitely be going back??“
“Nice little Chinese restaurant downtown. Their food is great and the employees are friendly. They usually have your order ready in ten minutes or less. They keep it clean. My favorite Chinese restaurant downtown. The pork fried rice I ordered there today was delicious.Parking: Their parking area is in the rear of the building. There is plenty of parking back there.Wheelchair accessibility: They have wheel chair accessibility in the parking lot and the entrance. You will probably need someone to hold the door open for you when you go in. I went in there on crutches one time. I had a little trouble with the door.“
“I am a regular customer at China Star located next to Kroger supermarket at North Hubbards Lane. The restaurant is run by a friendly and warm husband and wife team. The food is tasty and economically priced. My family and I wish them the very best.“
“This is easily one of the best Chinese buffets in town. Huge selection, plus a sushi/hibachi section and it's constantly refreshed with hot and fresh food. Love their jalapeño chicken! They have some really juicy, ripe, fresh fruit too. Also, you can't beat the price. Even at dinner, you can pay less than $20 per person and eat to your heart's content. One of my favorite food spots in Louisville.“
“I love Thai food and have been to many good Thai places across the country throughout my travels. I don't know how much I can speak to authenticity, but I know what my tongue and palette like . At Simply Thai, I got the chicken pineapple fried rice and chicken kaow soi, both spice level 3 (out of 5). I liked the pineapple fried rice. It was very good and came in a pineapple which was cool. Portion size was decent too. The kaow soi was alright. The curry was quite watery and the noodles were wheat noodles. This kept it from really picking up the tastes of the curry, which made it a little blander than I would have liked. Simply Thai is always busy, but the servers are very nice and attentive despite the busyness. It's got a lot of seating, but once again is always busy, so you have to go early to beat the rush! They do, however, usually have extra seating available at the bar even if you don't order a drink, as long as you're over 21. The restaurant has a great environment with a lot of cultural decorations that spice up the place. All in all, Simply Thai is simply a good place to go for some good Thai food, as long as you don't mind a wait!“
“Had a minor hiccup that was entirely the fault of doordash. But once we figured out the issue, the woman I spoke to was more than helpful and went above and beyond to correct the problem. The food was great, and I would definitely be willing to eat there again. Great job.“
“I've been going eating here for over 15yrs. Food is amazing, Price is consistent and fair and speed for fresh food ?? They remember me when I come and is always sweet. Open good times too! -Green HairDietary restrictions: The alter for you!“
“Man this place is so underrated- the looks are deceiving with this joint, Tony I belive owner and main guy worker always smiling and super positive- and this man can COOK. Never fails with portions he is fast and consistent and he is an amazing cook.highly recommend to give this place a try .Parking: Pretty safe, have never had a problem“
“Everything we've ordered here has been delicous. Bourbon chicken is 10/10, sauce is so good. Hot braised chicken is made just they made it at that great little Chinese takeout place on Broadway back in the 80s-90s. Oriental Star still has the big eggrolls. Seems like all of the restaurants serve teeny-tiny eggrolls with a stingy amount of cabbage. Call in your order and it's ready in about 15mins. Lunch special is two meals for me. Egg foo yung lunch special is three meals! Restaurant is tidy but we always get takeout. Never had a wrong order in 10+ years. ❤️❤️❤️ Love this restaurant!❤️❤️❤️“
“We ate lunch here, with family, and it was a first for my grandmother. She struggles to hear, and the person working was absolutely wonderful and patient with explaining different options. It really made an impression on us. The food was wonderful, store was clean, and the service was outstanding!“
