“This is the BEST Mexican restaurant in the region! Generous portions, fair prices and authentic choices that cater to a wide array of palates. Have gone here for several years now and never disappointed. The staff is always friendly and expeditious. Recently had a carne asada torta and tried their pozole rojo. The torta was massive and properly assembled. The steak was perfectly seasoned and grilled as always. Only regret not having gotten a lengua torta. Found out after ordering they recently put lengua back in rotation. The pozole was rich, flavorful and full of large cuts of tender pork. Enough for at least two meals worth. If you’ve never been, what are you waiting for?? Give this place a try”

“I love Wild Eggs and my go to server at the Jeffersonville location! Sadly, I was disappointed for the first time today due to the lack of cleanliness of the booth we were seated at. There are A LOT of old food pieces and crumbs all around the seat between the vinyl and wood. Even our host noticed it and attempted to clean up with a well-used bar mop towel. Needless to say, I immediately washed my legs and changed shorts when I got home after sitting on all that. These restaurants need to stop cutting servers and igniting safe sanitation practices to save a buck! Pay your team a true wage to clean. Thank you!”

“it's pretty much the best community driven thing since ever. the super dope friendly regulars come, well, regularly, and the trolls who try to ruin it for everyone realize no one wants them here so they don't come back. it's this vicious cycle of good vibes feeding into themselves that has created this incredible community. the alcovians are we like to call ourselves. if you're like me and not usually social, check out the karaoke bar next door first and loosen up there and then migrate on over to alcove when you feel more comfortable! don't even get me started on the food. papu chos is THE BEST food I've had in my life. TLDR just go to alcove already”

I appreciate every single one of you. Second, the food was perfect and delicious. Third, the room itself was everything I hoped it would be and more. “We had an event at Upland, in their large banquet room, last week, and it was not a simple set up or take down for us. Anna and the team at Upland allowed us enough access, beforehand, to transform the room into something spectacular. The appetizers and meals were top notch, served buffet style, with beef, chicken, salads, vegetables, potatoes, vegetarian skewers and more. The staff worked hard to accommodate us and the guests were all happy with the food and how we had set everything up. The were a few hiccups, like the bar having limited choices for guests. It was that there were not choices, but better known brands were unavailable, though their own brands were (and some were pretty good). Also, the staff was so stealthy, that we didn’t realize dinner had been served. We also weren’t sure how to turn some lights on when it got darker outside. Those negatives did not have an affect on the overall party and how it was received, though. I give the an 9 out of 10, knowing that those things wouldn’t happen again.”

“Never in my life have I had such perfectly Sauced Wings unless I made them myself Amber was funny and friendly and not only did she take my order she took care of my order as well I don't know if she's a manager or not but she is definitely management material from I experienced with her today. I am not easy to please I know that I am super critical and hard to get along with but that girl showed up & showed out today. I will definitely be coming back just for her. I had a long day today and she really made it better.”

“I was visiting my son and grandson and we went to drakes last night. I had never been before but I can’t wait to go again. First and foremost I wish I’d have gotten the name of our server. She was the best I’ve ever had! She was so kind and attentive and I hope management will recognize her for the gem she is! The food was amazing as well! I ordered the tempura shrimp and it was delicious! I also ordered the crab rangoon roll and it was so good! My whole family loved everything they ordered! I wish you could open a drakes in the Illinois quad cities! Thank you for a nice dinner!!”

“I do NOT recommend this place. We went with a party of 15 this afternoon and had a truly disappointing, awful experience. We arrived shortly after they opened. We were the only ones on the outside patio the entire visit (just shy of 3 hours) and the inside dining room never got very busy, but you'd never guess by how terrible the service was. It took nearly 2 hours for (most of) our food to come out, and even then, several orders were wrong. Our drinks were rarely filled. Our waitress and other staff may have been stretched too thin, but did the manager ever come out to speak with us or try to make things right even once? nope! The food and beer prices are high and not worth the price. (Food arrived cool and tasted ok... not worth the prices.) No apologies were offered before we left after paying our expensive tabs. We will not be back. Don't waste your time! They clearly don't care about getting return customers.”

“I have eaten Krispy Krunchy Chicken at many locations in the south. These franchises are usually located inside gas convenience stores. They are all the same, but operate at different times. This is the best fried chicken no one has ever heard of according to another website. This is truly the best fried chicken I have ever eaten. Even cold out of the refrigerator, it is fantastic. But it is best when freshly cook or warmed in oven.”

One of the friendliest bars I’ve been to in a long time! My wife and I stopped in on a Saturday night and were blown away by how welcoming everyone was. The band was fantastic, and the locals were incredibly kind—they even treated us to chicken wings and beer. We had such a great time that we’ve already decided we’ll be back. In fact, I think we’re ready to become regulars ourselves. I heard they have karaoke on Thursday and Friday nights, and that’s definitely next on our list to try!”

“Five Guys has always been one of my go-to spots when I’m craving a really good, no-nonsense burger. The quality of the food is top-notch — the beef tastes fresh, juicy, and perfectly cooked to order every single time. You can really tell they use high-quality ingredients, from the soft, buttery buns to the crisp lettuce and fresh-cut tomatoes. The customization is a big plus too; being able to load up your burger with as many toppings as you want makes every visit a little different and always satisfying.

The fries are another highlight. They’re hand-cut, served piping hot, and come in huge portions. I love that they give you that extra scoop in the bag — it feels like a fun little bonus. And if you’re a fan of milkshakes, theirs are rich, creamy, and worth the indulgence, especially when you mix in toppings like bacon or peanut butter.

The only real downside for me is the price. While the food quality is excellent, it can feel a bit expensive for what’s essentially a burger and fries meal. A combo for one person can easily run over $25, which makes it more of an occasional treat than an everyday option. Still, the flavor and freshness keep me coming back. Five Guys delivers consistently great food — just be prepared to pay a bit extra for it.”
