“I'm coming out of yelp retirement to praise this place for it's no-nonsense, great approach to sushi. The decor is nothing special. Who cares. The sushi is great. The taisho absolutely knows what he's doing. Half the sushi bars in KY can't even do normal hosomaki. Not only do I not have to ask for the nori to be the right way around here, I get perfectly tight rolls that aren't going anywhere when I dip it in the shoyu. The quality of fish is great, quite comparable to a decent kaitenzushi in kichijoji or even meguro. Obviously the selection won't be as diverse as Japan, but the usual stuff is all here, cut well, and fresh tasting. My standard order includes sake (salmon), hotate (scallop), hamachi (yellow tail tuna), negitoro or equivalent (a minced tuna), unagi (often a whole donburi because I f#$@ing love it!). Then based on what was excellent from that bunch, I'll order a 2nd time. My wife loves ika (squid). Taisho whipped out the blow torch for my unagi and even seared her ika with it. Most places just toss it in the microwave. TYVM, taisho. On top of all that, this place doesn't break the bank. They do need to brew their tea stronger though. Mata ne.“
