“My wife and I had dinner there to celebrate our 63rd anniversary. She had the steak and shrimp while I had the shrimp duo (grilled and fried shrimp). The only minor complaints were the croutons on the salad were very salty and the shrimp (all of them) were slightly overcooked. (Not unusual in the midwest) Although we told her not to, the manager took them off the bill. Our server, Lorenzo, was very attentive without being intrusive. Overall, a very good evening. The Chandon champagne splits were VERY reasonable.”

“Take a look at the edgy menu! There is something on there that your pallet is waiting for. I love a thin crust pizza and this place delivers! The sprinkled sausage has a hint of heat. The crust was very thin so that you could really enjoy the toppings.

Dessert takes on a new look and feel with their CAKE IN A CAN. I chose “Mama’s Blueberry Sour Cream Cake” in a can. The cake is underbaked a little, so it is gooey and the sour cream gently lands on your tongue. When you bite into one of the plump blueberries, the juice from it squirts onto your tongue. And if you don’t have time to sit there and eat your dessert, it’s in a can so you can take it on the road with you!

The music is classical rock music from the 60s, so it really rocks! It’s loud so babies can be here and cry. This is definitely a must because it is one of a kind. Families, couples, date night, senior citizens. .. come in!”

The service was prompt and friendly, with nice recommendations toward the menu. The food was great! I had AYCE fish (hake) and it was delicious! The breading was nice and light, so you could actually taste the fish. My hubs had fried chicken and he enjoyed that as well! The best part was the cheese and crackers they brought out with our soup... well definitely come back!”

“Toyo grill is my favorite restaurant in south bend. I’ve been coming here with my family ever since I was a kid, and the employees know us by name. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is classic and relaxed. I can’t talk enough about how much I adore this place, you can feel the kindness and years of experience in every bite. Unfortunately I was only in town for the weekend, and even though they are closed on Saturdays, the owner so graciously offered to COME IN and make subs for me!! I couldn't believe it! Incredible customer service and my husband said the Kmart subs were DELICIOUS and SPOT ON. Thank you for going the extra mile to help me bring back a memory for him. WE APPRECIATE YOU!!”

“I had a lovely experience at Oliva’s! The restaurant is warm and inviting with classic Italian restaurant decorations. It’s very clean! The menu is simple in the best way and priced fairly by today’s standards. I had exceptional service from all staff I came in contact with. The food was so good! I highly recommend the stuffed mushrooms and the mahi mahi. The salad is amazing too! The only things I would’ve changed are the music and the water. I think something a little more classic or Italian would suit the atmosphere better rather than the loud 80’s pop hits and the water tasted very chlorinated. Nothing a crisp Coke couldn’t fix! I will be returning soon!”

I stop by for breakfast before church once in a while and yesterday was the best service I've ever had here! My Jumbalaya pancake dish was ready within minutes and was absolutely delicious!
