Walking in, it looks like a typical Chinese restaurant, with the low lighting, red and gold booths and golden cat decor and buddhas. The restaurant was quiet and not very busy, considering that I visited on a Monday night, I wasn’t too surprised. As far as the food, I wanted to try something new and ordered a chicken dish on the menu. Although I am not a big fan of water chestnuts my food was pretty fresh, hot, clean and flavorful. I have to say, I was surprised at the great quality considering the inexpensive prices! The food came out rather quickly too (probably due to the restaurant not being busy) and the server was pretty attentive and sweet!”

“My family traveled from Chicago to South Bend this weekend to pick up our service dog for my 5 year-old Autistic son. While the experience was amazing, my son struggled a bit with the trip, as he is very much a person of habit! He woke up Sunday morning asking for a cheeseburger. We scrambled to figure out where we could possibly get a cheeseburger at 8am, and we were excited to see a Burger King near our hotel. We packed up 4 kids and a service dog and headed over. We were quickly and kindly informed that lunch was not served until 11. I told the cashier I had an autistic kiddo in desperate need of a cheeseburger, and asked if she knew anywhere in the area I could get one. Another employee heard my situation and with no hesitation, swooped in said she will make him a cheeseburger. This woman went completely out of her way to help my son. She had a burger cooked and ready to go in minutes. She refused my money as I went to pay for it. When I thanked her profusely, she put her hand over her heart and told me so sincerely, “She understands”. Thank you to this wonderful woman for her kindness and compassion!”

“Stopped by the morning of 12/9/23 for a quick drive through breakfast and I have to say it was the most positive drive through experience I have ever had. I was 4 or 5 cars back in line and I don’t think I was in line for more than a couple minutes. Sandwich and coffee were great and the staff were extremely friendly, professional and efficient. This will undoubtedly be a Saturday morning staple for me on my way to work. Thank you and keep up the great work!”

“We found this place by chance while in the area...It's very nice with the outdoor area also being available...the owner was very personable and also made our food...we had the Patty melt and the 12 wings sause on the side which was delicious (try the garlic aioli)...I really liked the fries...I definitely plan on returning to this location...the atmosphere was welcoming, there was a pool table, darts, axe game (fascinating) and some type of golf game...the locals were very friendly... thanks for the laughs...”

First, this is NOT an appropriate place for kids, and you'll be asked to leave if you bring them, this is an old style BAR. Adults only.

My burger was delicious and the staff was friendly! Sorry I started eating it first. Greasy and great! Full of beef and gluten.

If you love nostalgia and don't mind the smell of old smoke and a hint of pee, scratched paint and air vents hanging from straps, you'll love this place. It's like going back to the 60s or 70s!

Be sure to enjoy the vintage Popeye sign from the 50's advertising a hamburger for 10¢!

If not you probably should avoid it.

This place leans into letting people self-select to not be here. But in my opinion that just means it has an unapologetic personality.

I am NOT recommending this place for the sub 40 crowd, you probably won't like it and the regular won't feel bad about that. If you don't mind stepping out of your comfort zone in a big way, try it. If not they won't miss you.”

“Visiting South Bend and this place was across the street from my hotel so I decided to try it. While standing there looking at the menu and trying to two decide what to get another customer told me I should try the ribs. So I ordered the half rack of baby back ribs and they were absolutely amazing! The sauce was delicious and the meat was just falling off the bone. They came with fries coleslaw and French bread as well and the price was very reasonable. I highly recommend. I would like to go back and try some other menu items.”

“The management team did a good job while noticeably short-staffed and actively training new employees.

My food was excellent, despite my having to wait more than half an hour from when I placed my order at the kiosk: filet-o-fish, medium French fries with no salt 🍟, side of HotMustard sauce, unsweetened iced tea, small M&M McFlurry 🍦.

Only 3 customers ahead of me in line: one elderly lady and two young women whose order also seemed to have disappeared ...

Another family was already eating when I arrived.

A young gentleman brought an order that looked suspiciously like mine to the family seated at the center table. They gladly accepted the additional meal.

Once I had waited 30 minutes and six more customers had come and gone, I asked the manager if he knew what had happened to my meal. He told me that he remembered my exact order and that he thought it might have been given to the wrong customers.

Fortunately, the manager made it a priority to re-make my order and it was ready almost immediately. The food was perfectly fresh, and the dining room was reasonably clean.

Both of the managers reminded the young man to double-check that each order is correctly delivered to the customer who paid for it. It seemed like it was an honest mistake.

Overall, I was impressed that the managers were kind to their employees while making sure that they took good care of their customers. I thanked them and returned my table sign. I'll be back.”

“One of my friends was having a poor reaction to the alcohol, a mixture of the fact she’s mildly allergic and the medication she was on really did not agree with her. And the workers were SWEETHEARTS. Even before our friend started reacting, the service was 12/10. Very friendly and respectful. Some of our friends took our sick friend outside for some air and two of us stayed to pay, and the service workers asked us if our friends took was okay and even gave us two waters to-go when we explained the situation. I sincerely regret not tipping 15% in my rush to get everything paid for so we could leave. Will be coming back because they were so nice and helpful and tipping way more.

Unrelated to that situation, the vibes were fantastic. The food was really good. The workers were so sweet. Overall a great experience here.”
