“We went in for take-out and were the only ones in the lobby. The person taking orders was super helpful, very friendly and just an absolute Angel! She brightened a kind of dark point in our week. She helped us through order choices for a family member who wasn't with us by asking questions and offering suggestions. The food was fantastic! Fish, fries and coleslaw, desserts...everything was perfect! I give them a 1000 out of 5 stars!“
“Every time I come here during a week day, they only have about 3 people out front serving. The poor bartender was tasked with serving everyone bar side, not just the people at the bar. You could clearly she was doing her best diligently working, but still took 5-10mins to get a draft beer.Always someone different brining out the food since my actual server is swamped with other guests. They need to up their employees per shift.“

“I'm a fan of every J & J I've visited. They have a favorite of mine my entire life. Smelt. Also picked up whole wings and catfish filets for later. Im a truck driver. So I grab a few orders for days ahead. The smelt didn't make it out of Mishawaka, however. Ate them while driving. Perfectly cooked, in my opinion, as usually the case with all orders I've picked up. Small place. But most people tend to call ahead or order to go.“

I got the chicken poppers as an appetizer; the breading on them is perfectly light and crispy, and the sauce has the perfect amount of zing to it! As my entree I got the Lil Piggy - it was absolutely fantastic. I was particularly impressed with the bun it came on, it must be made locally or in-house, because it was SO fluffy and plush! I also thought everything was priced very reasonably. I will absolutely be coming back to try the rest of the menu!In addition, the staff was extremely attentive and kind.
