“My 1st private dive bar experience in KC and this place is epic. Enjoy good pours and less expensive drinks and know that they're cash only. The regulars are inviting and seem to know everyone. Good place to pass time after a Royals game or for a nightcap. No food, but there is Golden Tee and a jukebox.“
“We came here to watch the Chiefs game last week. As a whole we had a pretty good experience and there are tons of TV's which make it the perfect place to watch sports. I didn't get anything to drink but most of our friends got beers and were surprised at how cheap they were. They were pleased with the amount and cost of the beer as well as the selection. We were a little confused about the lack of staff and it took us a bit to realize that they only two people working were working behind the bar. Once we figured that out it was fine but we definitely sat around waiting for someone to come to our table to start a tab. Not sure if that is just a game day thing or if it's always like that. The food situation was a bit odd. They have a relationship with Wing Stand next door, which is cool but the whole process of ordering and getting food was confusing. I'm this this will sound nit picky but you order food off a QR code (totally fine!!!) but it is confusing if they bring the food or if you have to get it. Either way is fine but it was just confusing. One table told us they had to go get it then another told us it was delivered. Our food ended up getting delivered which was nice. But they forgot napkins and utensils. No worries but Sully's didn't have any and I guess they don't carry that stuff. So after the convenience of having it delivered, we had to go get a bunch of stuff anyway. Overall our experience was good but we felt kind of dumb spending so much time figuring things out. It just didn't feel as simple as it should have been to get beer and food. It isn't the having to get off my butt that bothered me more the lack of understanding from customers what was going on as many people around us were confused.“
“Definitely the top 5 BBQ in KC. You don't hear about it when people are talking about KC BBQ like Joe's, Q39 (way over rated), Jack Stack, LC's (my all time favorite), woodyard or many others. But when I have people in from out of town for business trips, I tell them to skip the other well known places and try RJs. Prices are great, the habanero BBQ sauce is best in the city. Plus it's near my house. Love to go in, sit at the bar, watch a game, have a beer and some amazing BBQ. Great neighborhood feel. Give it a shot. Best little secret in Mission.“
“Passing through KC on a multi-state road trip, looked up best BBQ spots and Q39 was on multiple lists. Lunch did not disappoint. Wife and I had the Judges platers. Chicken, pork, and sausage for her. Brisket, ribs, and sausage for me. All of the meats were amazing. Our server, Maddie M., was very friendly and helpful in choosing options. Normally we enjoy having a slower paced meal but since we're traveling it was nice that we were in and out in under an hour. Highly recommend!“
“I absolutely loved this place! The food was great, the staff was very kind and attentive. The pricing was right too! You get a lot for your money and it’s *delicious*. I’ll be coming back the next time I’m in Kansas City!We also had a vegetarian in the group who tried the jackfruit and was a fan!Vegetarian options: The jackfruit was great!“
“THE BEST BARBECUE IVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE!! Knuckle Heads brought in a guy (Brent) who runs Diamond W Barbecue and served hands down the best food I’ve ever tasted! Top notch barbecue at a great price and amazing friendly service!!! ??????“
“5 stars with a caveat. Food incredible. Wait staff very good. Almost every employee smiled as they walked by. Reservations at 4. Promptly ordered drinks and a seafood tower. In 30 mins more drinks and another dozen oysters. 20 mins another round of drinks and crab cakes. Now it's 5:15. Hostess trys to take our menu. We were about ready to decide on dinner. She said she needed the menu as table was reserved for others at 6 and we'd better hurry. It totally threw us off. Not like we were just chit chatting. Sort of a strange way to say thanks for spending $300 with us. I guess the 2 hour rule is a midtown thing as I saw it at next place we tried to eat dinner at in Brookside. Besides the rude hostess, it is a midtown KC gem. Guess us farm folks with stay out South next time.“
“Grunauer isn’t a place I’d go all the time, but I love going when I’m craving something “that feels like a home cooked meal”. The food is different than most places around KC. It’s all very filling, but so good. The staff do a great job of explaining and recommending dishes on the menu. Don’t let it overwhelm you. Be sure to check the daily specials before choosing what day to go!Parking: There’s a parking lot in the back shared with Lydia’s that is free if you save your receipt from the meal.“
“How isn’t this place 5 stars?! WOW. My date and I had an amazing experience from the atmosphere, the food, and our incredible waitress Danielle. She was such a treat and very knowledgeable of all the products. I will definitely be coming back!“
“My husband and I have been to Swordfish Tom’s at least half a dozen times in the past couple of years and it’s always been a top-notch experience. Sure, sometimes you have to wait outside for availability, but it’s worth the wait and I personally think it adds to the “speak-easy” vibes. Drinks are phenomenal and they always seem to have a wide variety of cocktail options. Even if you don’t see something on the list that sparks your interest, the bartenders has always been so friendly and willing to spin up pretty much anything your heart desires! We love it for a date night!“
“This is the best theater in the Metro area. I always check to see if the film I want to watch is playing here first. There might be bigger screens or more movie selections elsewhere, but nothing beats this place in terms of a great movie atmosphere.“
“Our waitress, Karen B was fantastic! She made our evening amazing. I'm 68 & she got the biggest tip I have ever given. The only thing that was bad, they wouldn't take my sons coupon for his birthday. It did say not on .holiday, I realize it was Easter Sunday. Again kudos to Karen B. I will be back & I sure will request her. Thanks for making it a amazing meal. CraigParking: More than plenty!Kid-friendliness: Our waitress made my Grandson day, being so accommodating. He talked about her all the way home.“
“Very cool room hidden off the alley. Had an Italian Beef (Jim's Beef) and had low expectations. Being from Chicago I was a bit snobby about anyone else outside of the Windy City doing an IB right. My apologies. Great sandwich. The bread was perfect. Tender, juicy meat. Giardiniera nice and spicy. My only gripe would be the lack of fries as a side. I had the jalepeno slaw and it was good, but fries are the natural side to a lovely beef. Will be back.“
“The food was AWESOME. Please tell the bar manager, or whoever works the bar drink menu to update. The waitress ran back and forth at least 5 times trying to get a drink order b/c it wasn't up to date! She also seemed really timid and slightly slow for it being a very empty building. Super sweet, but we definitely were there way longer than we intended to be.Parking: There is a lot on the upper "back side" of the building, where you pull in at. Loads of handicapped parking out front with a few standard spots.Kid-friendliness: Seemed like a great place for family get togethers. Lots of families in when we were there.Wheelchair accessibility: Easily wheel chair accessible and plenty of handicapped parking available.“
“I stumbled across this place on Facebook and had no idea what it was. They were hosting a nickelodeon themed party with trivia, coloring, and themed drinks!I was nervous at first because we were sharing tables but I got to meet some of the coolest people there and had a blast!! They even hyped me up for winning 4th place in the coloring contest haha.If you love board games, meeting new people, and looking for adult fun without all the craziness of downtown this is a great place to go! I think they host dungeons and dragons here as well and I would love to learn how to start. The food is tasty, but it could be better. But it's not a restaurant, it's a gamers paradise!“
“Up-Down quickly became a KC classic. Everyone will find a game they enjoy and every game is only 25 cents (via tokens bought at the bar). The bar is expansive and the rooftop patio is a great place to enjoy the city views. If you're hungry you can grab a slice of pizza inside.“
“I've been going here for 20+ years (their old location in midtown) and it never disappoints. Chili pepper wontons always a must order item. Ants on a tree and the braised pork and shiitake noodle soup are two of my favorites. China moon is also a great appetizer to start off the meal the plum sauce on the side is so good.“
“My first time in, and I found it to be charming. A bright and tidy place in a more historic part of town. The baristas were sweet and fun. If you get a drip coffee and choose to enjoy on premises, you pick out your own mug and get a free refill. It was a perfect Sunday morning stop.“
“This is our favorite taco place! The food is delicious and I can get beef cheek here. I placed a carry out order and service was prompt and courteous. They made sure I had everything I needed before I left. I cannot say enough good things about Taqueria La Nueva!! Love this place ♥️“
“I had the duck and a sake flight. It was delicious and the flight was super interesting. My husband had the salmon. The menu is more set up for sharing, but the 2 dishes we had were full servings. It's also farm table seating. Meaning long tables they sit multiple parties at.Service was wonderful. Atmosphere was stunning.Highly recommend reservations. We got the brownie dessert, this wasn't my favorite and really expensive for $15. The video is of the creme Brule (not the brownie)“
“A nostalgic environment. The menu is limited, but the food is excellent. Note that the menu slightly changes from week to week, or month to month or seasonly. So check their website. The artwork at the 21c was beautiful. And the TV was showing silent movies from the past. An excellent restaurant for dinner. We'll definitely be back.“
“Not sure what the theme for this restaurant was, but I had the impossible burger, and I was deeply impressed. I have been a beef eater, all my life. This burger was amazing. Would recommend trying it if you were curious. The staff was amazing, I can't remember the waitress name now, it was one of those 'like this city name but without the last letter's people. She did amazing.“
“Tried this place for the first time on a Friday at 7:30 and we were seated immediately with no reservation. The space was small, but very cool and good vibes. Drinks were good and the servers/bartenders know what they are talking about. I'll have to try food next time I'm there“
“It was AMAZING. It was my first time and i loved how Kevin took a few minutes to explain everything to us and show us how to properly mix the dishes and use chopsticks and everything . Peter was FANTASTIC he told us he was the cook in the back but came up to help out and 10/10 service. I will definitely be back in a forever customer now. Best experience of my life and it was just so much fun.“
“I stopped in for some hibachi and crab Rangoon’s and they were great. They had a lot of different sushi options and even have a sushi boat for some orders. The food was so hot and delicious. My server was Nena and she was incredibly sweet.“
“If you need a place to impress someone, have a date night, or just a cozy comforting meal, Antler Room is THE place. Every dish is a slice of heaven, and the homemade pasta is to die for. The staff and atmosphere are always warm and inviting. GO... any chance you get!“
“We LOVE Milwaukee Deli to the point where we knew we had to have it as a late night snack at our wedding! We worked out a catering order with Jon who was so great at assisting us and making sure what we ordered showed up at our venue at the requested time! We didn't have to worry about a thing on the day and just got the glorious news from our venue coordinator that the pizza had arrived! Our guests DEVOURED this pizza. Thanks again to Jon and Milwaukee Deli for helping to make our special day even better!“
“We had the best Saturday fun-day here. Logan and Candice were friendly, fun, engaging, and hilarious. The crowd was chill and friendly. Any bar with jcheese balls is a win, and the overall design and vibe of the bar is top notch. I am sad we don’t live closer, but we can’t wait to go back. Thanks for an awesome day!“
“Ludo's Shuffleboard bar is such a great addition to Martini Corner. After a friend date night at Noka, we went here to check it out for the first time. I love the fun, colorful branding that continues to the menu itself. The cocktails are as creative as they are delicious. They offer great wines and beers too - something for everyone. I've also been to Ludo's for a work happy hour where they rented out the whole bar. It's such a great size for happy hour "takeovers" and the staff was super friendly, helpful, flexible and easy to work with. Highly recommend a night out at Ludo's or even renting it out for your next event!“
“Anytime I have people visiting from out of town, and they want to have a nice meal that isn't BBQ I take them here. The food, service and ambiance are always fantastic. Their menu is so different than anything around here and sitting in the dining room feels like sitting in a French restaurant. They have a rotating chef's special, a great deal on their steak frites on Tuesdays, delicious French desserts (home made profiteroles, say WHAT?! yum. And don't even get me started on their mille feuille when that is around... absolutely fabulous). The wine selection is great, they have a non alc option that seemed interesting but I decided to go with their non alc cocktail which was delicious. Cocktail menu is solid, and they even carry my favorite beer, Duvel which is such a European staple and not always easy to find in the city.“
“Ordered at the kiosk as I've done in the past and just waited in front of the kiosk on the wall for the text to say my order was ready. Some time passes and the staff are asking others if they were here to pickup but no one asked me anything. I continue to wait but I see a bag sitting but didn't bother to ask if it was my order because I have not moved since I've ordered and no One has addressed me like they did the other guest and I haven't received a text message.Message comes 15min after order was placed which is fine but when I go to get my food and the guy ask what my name is and grabs the bag that appears to be the same bag that's been sitting for awhile (keep in mind burger and fries 10min sitting is equivalent to 30min due to how quickly it gets cold). I ask has that bag been sitting awhile he says no it just came up, I reluctantly believe him because I was looking at my phone for a min so just maybe It could have been a different bag. Get to the car and everything is warm but closer to room temp. I'm instantly annoyed because either you served me old food or you lied and the bag has been sitting in my face the entire time while you looked in my face and didn't bother to say what's the name on the order just to check and make sure my order wasn't ready and you forgot to send my text message. Things happen but service is crucial if you want repeat customers. $15 in the trash because cold food sucks, let's do better.I am editing my review due to the response from ownership. I'm not sure how I ended up with lukewarm food since when I ordered I never left the ordering space, I could see every fresh burger prepared right in front of me however my order didn't reflect what was in my bag and I didn't have the time to get it remade due to picking up my son. However I will admit I was extra excited to get my burger due to it being the only thing I can eat in Lenexa due to limited vegan choices. I didn't think anyone would care about my small disappointment and the fact that a response was made from management made my day. So I revise my review because it's not the end of the world and I have always had great food when I do come to Cosmo. Thank you for response it was really appreciated. I will be back☺️“
“I had a great time at Blade & Timber in Leawood. It was my first time trying axe throwing and I was pleasantly surprised by how fun and easy it was. The staff was super friendly and helpful, they taught me the basics and gave me some tips to improve my throws. The place was very clean and well-maintained, and the atmosphere was lively and upbeat. They also had a full bar and a nice selection of snacks to enjoy while throwing axes. The only downside was that it seemed a little overpriced for the experience. I paid $35, which felt a bit steep for something that didn't require much equipment or skill. I think it would be more reasonable to charge $15 or $20 per hour, or offer some discounts or deals for groups or repeat customers. Overall, I had a fun at Blade & Timber and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and exciting activity.“
“This dinner experience was exceptional. Our server, Maxwell, was one of the best servers I have ever had. He was knowledgeable, attentive and very friendly. I highly recommend their oysters, you can order them individually or 1/2 & full dozen. I enjoyed the west coast variety. My steak that I ordered was a 16 oz ribeye with blue cheese potatoes and mushroom pan roast. Everything was cooked to perfection and the meal was extremely satisfying. If you’re in the area and your budget allows, I would suggest you treat yourself and enjoy a dining experience here.Parking: There are 2 parking garages but they are not connected to the restaurant, nonetheless, it is a short walk in a quaint village like setting.“
“Good people and great food!! We met the owners on trip out of town recently and we were a little embarrassed that we had never been to their restaurant. Thought we would give it a try and we were impressed. The food was exceptional and made with obvious care and attention to detail. The menu has something for everyone. Can confirm that you won’t find a more genuine couple of owners and attentive staff. Excellent hidden gem!!“
“Pic is of the lobster tacos and skillet queso. They were both amazing. We also had the Korean tacos and street which were delicious as well. Skillet queso was too spicy for the kiddos but perfect for me. Finishing touch was the amazing KC Taco margaritas. Definitely coming back.“
“We visited Blade & Timber for the first time (None of us had ever thrown an ax before) to celebrate our daughter's 17th birthday. The service was excellent. Food was great. But our coach Winston went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and having the best experience possible! We can't wait for our next visit!!“
“Really fun and laid back spot. Apparently the owner is my second cousin once removed (I think) so my dad was excited to go here when visiting from AR. It was a beautiful day and I love that on such days they’re open to the outdoors. That plus some great early 2000s pop punk classics really made for a great atmosphere. I asked for their most popular drink which was their blueberry specialty cocktail. It was delicious!“
“Overall a great place; this has become mine and my wife's local spot.Twice monthly pool tournaments; an assortment of areas to play checks, chess, or dice; local beers; and fantastic cocktails. One of the best old fashioned I've had in a while (if you're a fan of Rye, if not, make sure to mention it).Have spent several long nights here shooting pool and enjoying good company.Parking: Street parking directly next to the bar, but its a gamble if there will be any available. You may have to drive further down and take a short walk.“
“The food, service, and ambiance were amazing. It is a great place to enjoy some college sports or major games. The wings are the best in the Metropolitan area. They come out fresh and ready to go. Come enjoy a great experience at The Peanut in Overland Park, Kansas“
“Kyle owns this great KC gem. It’s a clean and friendly atmosphere in the heart of KC. Beer, whiskey, wine, no cocktails. Kyle is a beer lover but won’t steer you wrong with you spirit selections! I had a great time Chatting with him and trying Penelope and Barrel Craft bourbons!“
“We stopped in just before 10:00 p.m. and they squeezed in an order of fried mushrooms and a Reuben. The fried mushrooms were amazing. The French fries were terrific. And who doesn't love a Reuben. We really liked the laid-back atmosphere and our server did a great job. Driving up to the strip mall looking front, we were a bit worried, but it was everything we were hoping to find.“
“Food was great, really good cheeseburger and half fries and half onion rings. Next time may get fries and then order a full order of onion rings. Food came hot from the grill, service was quick and friendly. First timer there. Will definitely be back again!!! Great little Irish bar with personality!!!“
“Excellent food & service. My first time experiencing an upscale Thai place and I loved it - my favorite was the appetizer combo and the spring rolls were to-die-for. Must try!!Parking: Parking garage is around the corner, 5 min walk to your car, parallel parking outside that is 2 hour limit.“
“Elise at Toms Town was amazing. She gave a great tour and the tasting with her was so fun. She has us addicted to the double oak Bourbon! If you do not drink bourbon, you can still enjoy the tour. Loved looking around and enjoyed the video of all the history that this distillery has. The food was an added bonus!“
“This place is so fun. Great options for drinks, fun atmosphere, cozy. I usually go on weekdays because it is very small and gets tight. But it's full of cool patrons and a radical staff!Warning ..you might make friends here.Parking: Parking lot is small but not impossible..I used to find spots back home with my T16.“
“Been here several times, never tried the food . However the beer is good and cold , bartenders are spot on. It's a biker bar in the dot( so if have to explain it, you wouldn't understand) . Very cool place from what it was . And yesterday they had a benefit for a friend who was in a car wreck back in January. Very good turnout and everyone had a good time. With bikers there are no strangers only friends we haven't met yet.“
“This is a hidden gem in Johnson County! Intimate cocktail bar with an amazing vibe. The only place around with an extensive Mocktail (Non-alcohol) menu! Great for a unique couple outing or meetup with a friend. Staff is professional and great!“
“If you love a dive bar this is great! We live dive bars and on Fridays they have a pizza lunch Buffett for 10.00! Service was top notch and pizza pretty good. If you wanted a special type all you had to do was ask! Amazing service. Will be back!“
“Our waitress, Leah was phenomenal. Best service I have had here in KC in several years.Parking: Garage on State line, just behind Jazz. Scan the QR cide at your spot. Sign up on the sight. After your meal at Jazz, scan the QR code at the restaurant, and poof! Your parking is free and paid for (3 hours max).“
“Went last night, a Friday, for the first time after happening across it looking for cocktails nearby. I live in Mission and had no idea this was here. I hesitate to be too glowing because I want to go every night and will need a seat! ? The drinks were *chef's kiss* and staff superb - we had our own girls night and it was the best ever! My one and only request would be they have some small nibbles available. I'm sort of a lightweight with alcohol and nuts or the like would help me have that second cocktail. “
