“This young lady (who wasn’t our server) went above and beyond for my family. My daughter was obsessed with her and she was the sweetest! So very kind and friendly ! We had to get a picture with her !“

“My first time here at J.Alexander's. So worth the trip from Lafayette. My entire meal has been remarkable. I ordered the red wine blend Parradoxx, which had a slight Pinot Nior flavor to it. I ordered a house salad with Blue Cheese dressing which was rich and full of woodsy flavors. My salad was a big hit with me. Vegetables were crisp and served with beautiful presentation. I ordered the Filet with Berinaise sauce and baked potatoe. It was cooked so perfectly that it was truly a work of art. For dessert I got the chocolate cake. I am not usually a chocolate fan at all but this did not disappoint!! The rich cocoa blended perfectly with the vanilla ice cream. Now for the service... my waiter, Ali, was so good. His knowledge of the menu was very good, but his quiet professionalism was undeniable. He checked all the boxes as to dressings and preparation, but he additionally checked for how and when you wanted everything served. Ali, eyes were constantly scanning to be certain that my meal and needs were being met. Now, I don't know anything about Ali, except that he was young, but he could have been at home in the finest restaurants in Chicago! His attention to detail made my incredible lunch even more spectacular! An incredible meal, prepared exquisitely, with a waiter like Ali! Just absolutely perfect!“

“Our friends from Baton Rouge brought us an Australian couple to Parrain for some authentic Cajun seafood. I'd been recommended to try catfish and it did not disappoint. So fresh and tasty, accompanied with shrimp, that was also crispy and fried to perfection. My husband had the New Orleans BBQ shrimp, but was unsure of the spicyness of the sauce, so a sample was brought out for him to try before he ordered, he said it was delicious.“

“Food was good - manager visited me which is a rarity in the Louisiana market for some reason- restaurant was very clean just dust in the ceiling vents- but my bartender was the highlight. I will go back just to sit and chat with Amber. As a regional manager for a restaurant group, I was impressed all around with her attentiveness that close to close. As a younger female no one ever speaks to me besides to take my order and she got to know me and made me feel welcome! She’s sweet as can be, I wish her all the best!“

“Went for a 4 po-boy takeout and a 5 piece wings . They were very helpful and called me before to verify an item and order was ready before I got there and service was great. Softshell poboy was perfectly cooked and delicious . The cochon de lait was fabulous and the buffalo chicken sandwich was excellent.

My two gripes for the 4 star were the wings were tiny and I like big wings if I'm gonna spend that much . Second gripe is if I spend $100 on an orderr and tip you could throw me a french fries in there as none of the poboys come witth fries.“

“I recently had the pleasure of picking food from Rocco's in Baton Rouge, where I indulged in their outstanding shrimp po-boy. The po-boy was generously filled with the perfect amount of fresh Gulf shrimp, which were perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. “The food was amazing. We enjoyed the Sunday brunch menu which included the French onion soup, fried oyster salad and for entrees we ate the New Orleans Crab Cake Benedict and Short Rib Benedict. The manger was so gracious as to give me a small bottle of champagne to take home since all the desserts were made with chocolate and I am allergic. We will definitely be back for the dinner menu. “Awesome people and are willing to go the extra mile to make a customer happy. We picked up 15lbs of live crawfish at 12:30 in the afternoon and got home to clean them and prepare for a boil at 430. We noticed a few were dead and called and they let us know to wait and see if they wake up from being on ice. When we went to boil at 3 we noticed even more not moving and potentially dead. We brought them back and they kindly swapped it out for new crawfish. I appreciate them taking the time to show us a crawfish after being on ice and being kind to us and replacing them! Crawfish were amazing in size!“

In my opinion, this is the best restaurant downtown. This restaurant is reasonably priced and good authentic Louisiana cuisine. You can get a meal combo of fried catfish or shrimp salads, sandwiches, poboys or seafood platters for around 15$. Food is great and staff is friendly and food should check it out!“

“The food was amazing. Popcorn shrimp and shrimp fried rice both come generously proportioned. The fish strips nearly fall apart in your mouth, lightly battered, crisp outside n jucy center.. so delicious, you could say they are cooked to perfection. However, the actual size of each strip the fish is cut into...rather small. Nonetheless still 100% pleased with my purcase, if i HAD to come up with a food related aspect to complain about, the size of the catfish strips is honestly all I could come up with. On the other hand if we are speaking on service, the cashier wasn't of much help, After voicing outloud it was my first time trying Johns i expected some sort of suggestion or recommendation however I barely even got a response from the young lady whom looked up from her phone only for a brief moment which is when she handed me a print out version of the menu I was point at when I was attempting to ask a question about the menu.. but all together I was pleased and will be coming back!!
