Definitely a great local spot. We were passing through town and stopped here for bar food and draft beer. The food was hot and exactly what fried bar food should be - salty and everything served with dipping sauce. The drafts were cold and served in pre chilled glasses. Sitting at the bar, it was clearly a place that draws a steady stream of regulars.Not dirty or dingey enough to call it a "dive" but those good vibes were there.
I choose to go to an old haunt that i used to enjoy visiting on occasion, especially for games (usually football, but the other day was basketball). No Mention of kitchen closing was announced, so we got no appetizers at first. The bartender did not make it seem that she necessarily wanted to be there. She picked up all the bar mats at about 11 pm (in the middle of the game we were watching), which was 4 hours before closing. I was in town with business. Found this place on Google. Was in the mood for a bar burger and fries. Both were very good and hit the spot. Note to others from out of town that might find this place, there is smoking allowed here. Enough so that I place my order to go.
