Coop's Place Reviews
This is a little hole-in-the wall bar & restaurant on the lower end of Decatur Street. It's a bit divey but that's part of it's charm. My husband had the fried catfish and I had the fried shrimp and both were plentiful and delicious. We also had the Rum Punch to drink and they were tasty and strong.
As a Texan in town for some good food and fun, the best recommendation I had was Coop's. The food was some of if not the best creole I've ever had. Came in hungry, left sweating and full. Staff is incredible and the food was as good as I had at any upscale restaurant in town so far. Couldn't recommend enough

I got the coop's plate which gives you a sample of their main dishes. It was excellent found it a great way to try a variety of food when I didn't know what to specifically get. The place is a bit outside the core of the french quarter, but It worth the walk. The place is an old dark bar with great atmosphere. The place was full of customers and there was even a small line outside the door, even while french quarter fest was going on.
