“Bob Boudreau and I were in NOLA for 9 nights. Three of the nights we had reservations at other places with family. Our 1st night we looked up and found Jewel of the South. We loved it so much. we asked our nephew, his medical school advisor and his wife to join us. All three lived in NOLA and had never been here. All 5 of us would definitely go back in a heart beat. Great food. Great atmosphere. Great drinks. Great staff. GREAT ALL AROUND! FIVE STARS for Jewel of the South.“
“We loved it so much we went back the next day! I had the muffuletta and it was the best I’ve ever had. The homemade chips are so good to with a sandwich. My son and husband and son both had the Cuban and said it was amazing. We ordered Mac n cheese.. amazing. Deep fried ribs were delicious but only got 3 so for $15 so that’s the only somewhat negative thing I have to say. Loved the open air atmosphere and service was great! Don’t miss out on this one.“
“The service is fast, efficient, and completely knowledgeable on menu selection. The food is always much better than expected & portion sizes are perfect, even for sharing. Every time we dine here, we have expectations not met but exceeded. Doris Metropolitan is our #1 Nola pick every time!“
“Willa Jean was one of the top suggested places by friends when visiting New Orleans. Running out of time, I went for a quick pastry since there's a to-go bakery counter near the large dining room. Ordering a blueberry muffin, they warmed it up for me. It was large and really good. It filled me for several hours!“
“This was by far the best breakfast I had in NOLA. Went twice just because it was so delicious. There may be a wait to sit, but the wait from sitting to food arriving is so quick! My family had the Banana fosters French toast, the breakfast burrito, the Migas dish, and biscuits with gravy. Everything was amazing. definitely recommend!“
“Mannn I'm not even from here. I saw this place and looked it up. I was a fan but had to see if it was as good as it sounded and looked. Twas better. Excellent quality top notch product and service. The amount of care and thought into everything plus the execution.. there just are no words.. if I could give more stars I would. If yall live in this area support this place and make sure they stay being able to provide this to the community. You'll thank me later. Taylor thanks for the great service and conversation. You guys are awesome. Keep on keeping on!“
“Wooooo this place is GOOD. We had a date night (with our sleeping infant) while on a trip to NOLA. The staff was very accommodating of our baby, and welcomed us warmly. The food was fantastic. We got the baby octopus, pork cheek, both salads, flounder (daily special), and pierogis. Every bite was delicious. Highly recommend!“
“We really enjoyed our dinner last night. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The pan oysters are absolutely amazing. I would have liked a second order. My companion was jealous. Although he had the salmon moose, and that was very good. The drum special was delicious. I have to admit, I'm still craving the oyster starter.“
“We went yesterday and the wait was 2 hours. Got there a little earlier today and we got in. I’ve eaten at the Uptown location and was so happy they opened up another one that’s closer. It was my daughter’s first time and she said the food is so good and understands why there is a wait.“
“Intimate setting. Plenty of quality starters/snacks including crawfish beignets and fries. I got the Romaine salad with chicken and didn't love it. My date for a vegetarian option which she loved. Good ambiance, hip, cool & friendly servers“
“This was a very unique restaurant. The menu is small but I imagine everything is delicious. We ordered the mystery board which was a unique meat charcuterie board containing liver mousse, chicken hearts, boudin ball, head cheese, and more. The entrees were huge, definitely large enough to share. We ordered the lamb, venison, chicken, and pork chop. All were delicious! The server made great recommendations.“
“The best breakfast spot that I found while visiting New Orleans......I visited Two Chicks Cafe kn my birthday and omg the barbecue shrimp and grits were amazing and let's not forget about their French toast and Ashley was so sweet and kind.“
“The service was great. It had a nice bar and a peaceful feeling. We ordered pork belly, pork shoulder, octopus, beet salad, roti bread, spaghetti, and rice. The pork belly was by far the best dish. The pork melted in my mouth and tasted like heaven. The pork shoulder was great. The inside was cooked well and the sauce was okay. The only issue I had with the sauce was that it was too sweet. The octopus was also good because it had a nice and crispy outside and soft juicy inside. Definitely one of their top dishes. The best salad was refreshing and on point. The rice had a nice buttery garlic seasoning and the bread was nice and warm. The spaghetti was a little bit spicy but the flavors and taste were excellent. Deserts- chocolate Pana cotta with a strawberry jelly was brilliant. House made ice cream- blueberry rose, passion fruit, and banana fudge rum. The blueberry rose was my favorite as it had bold flavors and brilliant taste. The others are good but could be better. I definitely recommend going here and will come back!“
“I went to Dat Dog on a visit to NOLA and it didn't dissapoint. A nice sports hot-dog bar where the staff is quite friendly.I ordered the ROUGAROU (Aligator sausage with bacon bits, grilled onions, tomato, japaleño and mustard and bbq sauces). Such a nice hotdog well loaded with amazing taste, the bun was able to hold all that meat and sauce perfectly. A high value hot dog.I also tried the HURRICANE and the FROZEN STRABERRY LEMONADE COCKTAILS. I particularly liked the frozen lemonade more than the hurricane, probably because I am not such a fan of rum drinks.SPANISH:I went to Dat Dog on a visit to New Orleans and was not disappointed. A good dog and sports bar where the staff is very friendly.I ordered the ROUGAROU (Alligator sausage with bacon pieces, sautéed onion, tomatoes, jalapenos, mustard and barbecue sauce). A good dog, well loaded and with an incredible flavor, the bun was able to hold all that meat and sauce perfectly. In short, a high value hot dog.I also tried the HURRICANE cocktails and the FROZEN STRABERRY LEMONADE. I liked the frozen lemonade better probably because I'm not a big fan of rum drinks.“
“After our fourth A1 dining experience here, I figured I needed to 5 star this establishment. Firstly, the inside is romantic yet posh. Comfortable seating with good spacing. Secondly, our servers have always been knowledgeable and attentive. Bee has been our server twice now and always takes such great care of us! Last and most importantly, the food and drinks! Insanely delicious!! For apps, you can’t pass up the fried green tomatoes and pork belly. For entree, this is the best red fish in the whole city! Love love love!“
“Had an event here on Feb 27th for a group of about 70. The space was decorated wonderfully for Mardi Gras and the staff did everything they could to make the event a success. The food was great and there was plenty of it . We will be back ! Thank you Bamboulas!“
“We made the trip across New Orleans in a cab to eat here on our last night before returning to the UK.I'd been really excited to try the food and it did not disappoint. The only disappointment was that I couldn't eat everything on the menu. The food has so much flavour and the staff are lovely.???“
“Our waiter was an excellent host, providing us with lots of personalized local spots for our vacation. We ordered a bunch of plates to share, which several staff complimented as their faves, and enjoyed every bite. Highly recommend the tuna ceviche and fried chicken!“
“Amazing food next to none! I was a walk-in and got a table by the bar and ordered two cold and two hot appetizers. All four were amazing and I’ve been to several Michelin star restaurants! The tuna crudo was light and refreshing. The venison tartare was interesting although slightly chewy. The escargot was prepared differently than in the shell and seemed sautéed. The gnocchi was the star of the show and was amazing! Even the amus-bouche was decadent. If you have a chance to visit - please do - you will not be disappointed“
“Above all, you MUST order the seared scallops and artichoke appetizer. Fan-freaking-tactic! The Black Manhattan is excellent — except is was stirred long enough so it was nearly lukewarm when brought to the table. Great flavor, but disappointed at how warm it was. (An extra point for Luxardo cherries. Seriously. How can a restaurant claim they serve cocktails if they don’t use Luxardo cherries????)“
“We were looking for a non-touristy spot after seeing an amazing jazz performance at Preservation Hall. The bartender prior to the performance recommended a few places including The Grapevine. We sat at the bar and were greeting immediately and the bartender Michael was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They start out every meal with individually warmed baguettes and specialty whipped butter, that night it was cracked pepper and truffle. We shared a couple items off of the specials (an artichoke soup that was to die for and a roasted marrow bone topped with Creole style crawfish tails) and then the caprese which may seem simple but was done to perfection with a NOLA flair topped with seafood. The price point was also amazing for both food and alcohol. This was definitely our most favorite eatery experience while in NOLA.“
“This was one of the best breakfast places I ate at while I stayed in New Orleans. i cant say enoigh positive things about this restaurant. The food was out of this world and the staff and service was 100/100 stars. Thank you so much for an fantastic food experience ❤️ ---- Lisa and Abby from Ontario, Canada“
“Very good!!! I had the Shrimp Remoulade Stuffed Avocado and it was so delicious!! My husband had a Shrimp PO Boy and wished he had gotten the same as I. We had dessert also, Chocolate Doberge cake and Bread Pudding which was SO delicious. Our waiter was a gem!“

“We loved this place so much while vacationing in New Orleans that we went 2 nights in a row! The Blue Bacon Fries are seriously addicting! The blackened shrimp Alfredo was so good I ate every bite and it was a large portion. It's a must!“
“All of my senses were OVERWHELMED with pleasure at Criollo's Jazz Brunch! The service and food was superb Michelin level quality. The live jazz band kept me entertained as I was coursed out. The chef elevated the fried green tomatoes and chicken biscuit to an award winning level. The chicken biscuit was smothered in jalapeño's, scallions and the best rue I have ever tasted so I sent my compliments to the chef. Every delectable bite forced my eyes shut so I could deeply enjoy the freshness, flavor and texture. While I was enjoying coffee the chef sent complimentary Rosemary & Lemon Custard Madeline's. It was an innovative way to approach this classic pastry. My only critique is the custard on top was so good I wanted more. Very light, fresh, and balanced melody of flavors. The consistency was reminiscent of a fusion between a scone and puff pastry. You can tell the French invited fries by how well the fries here complimented every dish. It was such a phenomenal experience, I found myself making reservations for the next day halfway through brunch and I am happy to say the food, service and entertainment are consistently great here. The fancy French atmosphere at Hotel Monteleone was fit for a Queen and the bathroom attendant cleaned the stall prior to each guests use. This is a must try spot in The French Quarter.“
“My husband and I LOVE this place. We live a couple of blocks away and eat here as often as we can without making it seem like we’re stalkers. The staff is always very friendly and welcoming…and the food! Lord. It’s delicious. The boudinThe P&P saladThe corn babiesTexas Crispy QuailFried BrusselsGulf FishIt is all amazing! Definitely one of the very best restaurants in The Quarter.“
“THE FOOOOOD OMG!! y’all 10/10 for the food. so flavorful, quick, fresh, just oh em geeee!! Our server Tommi was SO fun and helpful and nice and sweet and just a 10/10 personality! I really recommend this place for breakfast/brunch. I got the sweet heat chicken and french toast bites… SOOO GOOOOOOD!!!!“
“While in NOLA we always stop here and are always happy with the food, service and atmosphere in general. It’s enough away from the Bourbon atmosphere but close enough at the same, if you have a preference. It was clean, fast and friendly. All good!“
“Very cool atmosphere, super friendly staff, slightly disappointed with our cake selections. They weren't bad, but $30 for cake and coffee... I expected it to knock my socks off. Should have listened to the waitress' recommendations.“
“Booked BABs on a whim as part of a quick getaway to NOLA. Was not disappointed! Creative mocktail and cocktail menu. Wonderful beer and wine list. Appetizers were heavenly and exquisite. Entrees were fresh and delicious, while being new takes on American cuisine. Staff was eager to please while not being snide or fake. Opinions were honest and questions were thoroughly answered. We're very guarded of our New Orleans meals when we visit. I won't hesitate to book Bywater American Bistro on our next trip!“
“Gorgeous quiet (on a week day) little indoor/outdoor courtyard. I loved ordering at my table via an app and paying as I do. Food delivered easily. We did have to go to the bar to get our drinks though. Not a problem. We each had tacos - excellent! Spicy beef strips. Two small ones plus a side salad (also delicious) and it was plenty for me for dinner. When traveling I actually like it when plates are normal sized instead of huge and wasted.“
“First meal in NOLA! Can't say I regret it. Both the shrimp and pork belly poboys were killing it!Lots of flavor with the shrimp (my 19 mo ate like 3 pieces!). The pork belly was nice and fatty. Not sure what not to like - even the iced tea was nice and simple to wash the food down with.Would've loved to try everything else on the menu if I could.“
“We came at 4, which is when they open. Perfect, no one was hardly there. Then, out of nowhere. A family of 10 with 8 kids all under the age of 11 was so loud and had no home training the adults didn't seem to mind either. Not to mention, the kids were all girls. Business is Business. I would say wayy too kid friendly of a “
“I am practically about to lick the plate! We had the Mac n cheese, Rueben, Wagyu burger, egg rolls and pickle plate. I cannot say which was best, as they were all outstanding!!! Not to mention the service which was excellent. A perfect choice for vegans, vegetarians and carnivores alike!“
“I’ve never reviewed my greatest restaurant ever but I will start now. In October my wife and I went to Emeril in New Orleans. Not an easy reservation but worth the time, effort and long trip from our home in Hawaii. Our experience was great. . We knew that there were plans to shut down Emeril for a total redesign from top to bottom. We waited for the exact date to try to get a reservation and luckily secured one. We had absolutely no idea what to expect. The experience we had proved that the “new Emeril “ is the best restaurant we’ve ever been to. I will not describe each dish since it would take up too many words but know that each dish was outstanding. Now I will explain why Emeril is #1 in the eyes of both my wife and myself. Online you will see that there are two Tasting Menus, no a La carte so we were at least prepared for what we were going to eat. We were not prepared for the following total mind bending and culinary experience. When entering Emeril you are greeted with a true Aloha greeting. We sat at the gorgeous bar since we were early and had a Vieux Care our new go to cocktail. The mixologist continued with the Aloha Spirit and made an exceptional Vieux. The bar area was awesome. In a very short time we were greeted by a hostess who escorted us to the brand new dining room. It totally blew our minds. Twenty or less tables with a huge space between them. You almost feel that you are the only guests there. The table we sat at had a large banquette that just added a new dimension to comfort. Large gorgeous pillows supported our backs. Almost directly in front of us was a huge glass enclosed kitchen. This was pure culinary theatre. Almost immediately a chef came to our table and asked us if we would like to see the inside of the kitchen. We didn’t bat an eye and followed him into the most gorgeous well thought out kitchen we’ve ever seen. The chef gave us a brief description of the kitchen, introduced us to the staff and the entire team offered up a special hello. We both felt like the greatest VIP’s. He then showed us to a small table next to us that had two champagne flutes with what he said was a rhubarb juice. Also on a plate was a cube of some unbelievable jellied concoction to showcase the ingredients. Back to our table and the party began. The two tasting menus were explained, one Classic and the other Seasonal. Then the Amuse Bouches started arriving. We expected only one or two. Nope, two sets, one group of cold, the the other warm. Each one was as great as the seven small main dishes. The beauty of the entire experience was that we both left feeling sated, never full. The service was impeccable. Never hovering but always there and totally knowledgeable about every dish and that includes ingredients. The sommelier was the antithesis of what many sommelier’s are. Being Wine Educators and Consultants we really appreciated his knowledge and communication skills as well as his passion towards wine. We had a dedicated service team who I would love to take with us to other great but not perfect restaurants. Jason Burse, the Assistant General Manager made the whole experience into a perfect culinary tour de force. This is why we both feel that Emeril is the Best Restaurant we’ve ever eaten at. Although expensive, it did not break the bank. Can’t wait to return next October.“
“I contracted with Ralph's for a rehersal dinner for 50 people. Julie was my contact and she is amazing. I am a planner by nature but she was totally awesome. She walked us through the menu and space and the night was magical. She is attentive to detail, organized, pleasant to work with, and thought of things I needed based on the guest list. An example, I had one child's dinner and she called to see if that child required a high chair. It was those little things that she caught that made the event a night to remember. The staff on duty that night were also A+. They were exrremely attentive to all our guests needs. We had guests from 7 different states from CA to AK and they were blown away by the balcony bar, the views, and the entire event. It made me so proud to put our southern hospitality on display. I highly recommend Julie and Ralphs for your party needs.“
“According to the hostess, this was originally an old rectory that they renovated and turned into a charming, warm and inviting space with kitschy seating. Upon entering, there is a dining space similar to a front room that leads into a livingroom complete with a fireplace. If you walk down the hallway, there is a curtained dining nook as well as an indoor patio and a lively bar area. They also have a super cute outdoor, open air dining space with plenty of seats. The house made focaccia was very delicious and a must! The oysters were good as they were from the east coast. We really enjoyed the roasted gulf shrimp, but we were not told that the heads would be on nor is it written in the description on the menu; so be prepared. Our main dishes consisted of the chicken under a brick and the daily fish of halibut. Both dishes were delicious! They only have two options for dessert and our chocolate tart did not look like the photo on their website but it was still good. The lavender semifreddo was fire! I couldn't stop eating it!Our waitress did a good job but there were a few things overlooked, like not being cognizant of empty water glasses, letting dishes pile up and not changing out our silverware and plates, however, she was in training, so we didn't say anything. This is definitely a neighborhood gem and not to be missed.“
“I thoroughly enjoy my experiences at Cooter Brown's Tavern. During my recent visit – not my first – I indulged in their delicious fried oysters, which were simply outstanding. Additionally, their fried fish and cheese fries surpassed my expectations. The service was prompt and welcoming, contributing to the establishment's laid-back atmosphere. Undoubtedly, Cooter Brown's Tavern ranks among my favorite spots in New Orleans.“
“Definitely worth the stop. That was the tastiest Brie I've had in a while. The shop is pleasant and smells of fresh cheese and meat, heaven. Service is great, they took time to share about the cheeses, meats and accompaniments. Might stop in again before I leave town.“
“A neighborhood gem. We loved it so much we went there twice in our three day stay. We ordered an oyster and a shrimp po'boy with fries. It was all spectacular and the vibes were on point. This restaurant is a great example of a local institution keeping things simple and classic. Go and thank me later.“
“A cute little breakfast place with friendly staff with a very creative selection of donuts. Their breakfast sandwiches are, frankly, amazing. I got a turkey sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit. It may sound weird, but the eggs were the best part. They were succulent and creamy and honestly the best eggs I've ever had on a breakfast sammy. The raspberry cheesecake donut was decadent with chunks of crunchy graham cracker crust and a raspberry astride a raspberry iced donut with light, fluffy cheesecake filling. You can also see the entire cook process, with the baking station in the back, The grill station in the middle, and the coffee station up front next to the register by the door. I enjoyed watching them make kolaches while I chomped on my massive donut. They do have a gluten-free option or two, but I didn't ask about cross-contamination. Highly recommend.“
“Just another family restaurant that locals love. Great breakfast. I had the CBB and was quite surprised at how good it was with a jalapeño cheese gravy. My husband had some of the prettiest pancakes I believe I have ever seen. Staff was excellent and friendly. Owner was present and also friendly. Definitely adding to the list of breakfast spots in town.“
“We had the Creole Queen beignets, fries, and warm apple beignets, they were delicious! The next day we went back for the Creole Queen grits. Oh my gosh ya'll, they are the best grits I've had, buttery, melt in your mouth goodness!!“
“Small local run cafe with a great menu , we both ordered omelettes , with choice of so many fillings , with a side included along with toast. Great taste , great value ..and I also had a cappuccino which was brilliant ( can’t stand filtered coffee ) , Great service by Victoria too , thank you all“
“Hits and missesGood: loaded Korean fries, brussel sprouts, Sad Boy cocktailDo not get the mushroom pho if you have any expectations of it tasting like pho. Deeply needed salt, the mushrooms and noodles were all wrong, and not a bok choy to be found.“
“A bit of mixed feelings about it. Let’s start from the end. The bread pudding tasted good but not like a bread pudding. It tasted more like a ‘cake pudding’. The scallops, all 4 of them were very salty, thanks god that all else was potatoes to clean the palate :). We expected more considering the prices and ambience.“
“Service was friendly professional and prompt. while food was exceptional, the presentationFor the chicken and waffles was subpar at best. It looked like my 16 year old prepared it. The waffleWas crispy and light though. The ambience was very crowded with minimal spaceFrom the neighboring tables. Would return for the gumbo“
“After a long trip and waiting to settle into the hotel we found this spot not more than a block away and kept going back over the course of the week even though we were just visiting and not for the convenience but the service was fantastic the food was amazing and overall just an incredible spot to check “
“We arrived on a Thursday night about an hour before close and didn’t have to wait for a table, even though the staff were clearly handling a bustling front of house. Our server was helpful in selecting wine and we absolutely LOVED the roasted carrots and cornmeal brioche with caramelized onion butter. I’m drooling just thinking about these small plates.Oh yea, the pizza was some of the best wood fired pies I’ve had in awhile, both in restaurant and as late night leftovers the next night.Although the food and vibes seemed upscale, the casual attire and kindness of the staff made it feel warm and welcoming.“
