“Excellent, freshly made entrees. Diversity of selection is plentiful from Peruvian to Chinese to Italian to Vietnamese to American to Japanese and Korean cuisines. Lobster and steak are available at least once a year. Arguably, the best university dining experience in America.“

“My family ate at the Commonwealth Restaurant above the Worcester Dining Hall the evening before graduation. Everything from appetizers to dessert were absolutely delicious!! The menu had a variety of choices and the ambiance was simple but elegant. The staff were on top of everything and made us feel very welcome. I wish we had a chance before graduation to have tried this wonderful restaurant. It is not very large so I suggest making reservations.“

“High quality food with local ingredients at a dining hall can't be common, but UMass Amherst has exactly that. Many different culture's food represented daily. They noodle bowls, especially the beef brisket style one, are my favorites. Their Pho, Ramen, Japanese Currey with tonkatsu are all legit. Honey glazed salmon, cod misoyaki, and veggie pizza are some more of my favorites. The sushi rolls (no raw fish) and wok station always have lines as they are the most popular stations. You can look up daily menus online, click on an option and it shows you nutrition facts and ingredients. These undergrads don't know how good they have it.“

Valentine Dining Hall Cafeteria •

“I really like their salad bar and that there are lots of veggie/protein/grain options, soups, and desserts. It can get very loud when it is crowded, but when the crowd dies down it is a good place to get a variety of good food and drink. The food servers could be a little friendlier, but the entry ladies and other workers work hard and are really nice. I wish they didn't have as many salad dressings with soybean oil.Vegetarian options: This is an Eastern private college, so there are many things a vegetarian can eat here, as well as some vegam options.“
