Yes. YES, YEEESSSS! What happened? A simple country ham and smoked gouda grilled cheese sandwich. This sandwich has a personality of its own. It looks you in the eyes and says "YOU can't handle so much goodness in a simple sandwich. This is what makes it so lovely. A simple sandwich unpretentiously elevated. Perfect clam chowder. A view to kill. Who knew? Worth the bites, the nibble, the gobble. Served by the nicest ladies happy to feed you. Hell yea!
We were pleasantly surprised at our dining experience in this small cafeteria in the NE Botanical Garden. It has a captive audience, but serves very good, very fresh (and seemingly in-house prepared) food. It’s not inexpensive – a sandwich cost $14.00, but the chicken and apples and cranberries were all nicely blended. The soups vary (perhaps every day?). The offering our day was a rich and delicious vegetable.

Absolutely love this place! A wonderful place to eat while you explore the Garden. My favorite is the chicken salad cranberry walnut sandwich. There are great 1/2 sandwich + soup deals, and there’s something for everyone here. Definitely recommend stopping by, whether you’re visiting the Garden or not.
