“This was a fantastic place to eat. Family members from abroad came to visit me in Boston and I took them to eat here and they loved it. They said the food was authentic to places in El Salvador and Central America. The service was incredible with the staff being attentive and answering all our questions regarding the menu. We went Friday night during their karaoke night and the ambiance was very festive and lively--lots of people dancing and singing. I would recommend it to anyone who wishes to eat good food and sing on a Friday night. During the daytime, it is very family-friendly. I would recommend their pupusas and also their tortas. Love it.“

“One of the oldest locations in Salem. The Lyceum is famous for its' longevity, history, and right now food. We ate lunch there and sat in front of the fireplace. The venue was very laid back with an atmosphere of going back in time. There is an air of energy I cannot explain other than going there yourself and experiencing it. Even though I wasn't sitting on the bar side, I managed to walk around and just get a good eye-look. The food was excellent as well as the service. Our waitress made sure we were taken care of and we didn't have a need to worry about asking for anything. The host at the entrance made sure to ask us while we were dining how the food and service were. This is a place you should visit. A bit pricey, but hell, so is everything else now-a-days. Might as well get great service and good food.“

“My brother and I came for dinner while visiting Boston and the food was incredible but right after our hors d’oeuvres were served our server took off, didn’t say anything to us or other servers and we kind of just sat there and had to ask the bartender for our check. We watched him go change and leave with a female friend of his. Normally he should have told us he was cut and handing us off to another server but he just dipped and no one took care of us for atleast 40 minutes. Luckily it didn’t ruin our time just thought it should be noted.“

“Hidden in the residential area is the best lobster roll I have ever eaten! The weather was nice last weekend, so this lobster lover finally came to check out the lobster roll at this seafood shop. Lobster sandwich: It is obviously just ordinary bread, but it is fried until fragrant and then filled with thick fresh lobster meat. It only needs simple seasoning - a little mayonnaise, salt, black pepper and green onions to highlight the freshness and sweetness of the lobster. The bread is fried in butter but not greasy, and the cold lobster meat tastes fresh and chewy, not fishy at all, and basically uses the meat from the lobster body, unlike the lobsterroll in many restaurants that is cooked with tongs. It tasted so delicious, so I asked specifically, thinking that some magical sauce was added to the seasoning, but I didn't expect it to be that simple. wonderful! (The price is slightly more expensive now, $35 each.)After finishing one, I bought a second one and continued eating it in the evening.From now on, I will eat here probably once a week, it is very good! !I went and bought two more yesterday^ ^ Delicious!“

“The oysters are amazing!! Came in with my dad, and had one of the best meals ever! We ordered A Tale of Two Oysters, and is the way to go. This way we both could try all 8 of the day’s oysters. Hailey was our server, and was absolutely amazing. She brought over paper menus to make it easier, as my father didn’t have his phone with him. It's a pretty small place but can seat a lot. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Personally, I tried the Swing Pork Belly, Yo-In-Style Ramen Noodles, Beef and Enoki Cabbage Soup, and Black Fish Fillet with Szechuan Pickles. As advertised, their menu featured a blend of Italian pasta and Mediterranean seafood dishes.We started off our meal with the Crispy Calamari. It was a decent appetizer that aligned with the typical offerings of a modern Italian restaurant. Its seasoning was a tad overbearing, but it still set a nice tone for the meal.From their pasta selections, we opted for theWild Mushroom Mafalde and the Wild Boar Cocoa Pappardelle. The Pappardelle boasted a tender boar ragu with umami from Manchego, but it unfortunately suffered from a lack of cohesion. The pasta itself was slightly undercooked and lacked depth in flavor, failing to fully harmonize with the ragu. On the other hand, the Mafalde was enjoyable. The combination of garlic butter and Aleppo pepper introduced a welcomed acidity, and the interplay of textures between the al dente Mafalde and the succulent mushrooms was particularly satisfying.The highlight of the evening was the Seared Bronzino. Unlike many other Branzino dishes I've tried in Boston, which often fell flat in flavor, Porto’s rendition was masterfully-seasoned. Each bite struck a perfect balance between salinity and the sweet nuances of the squash purée.While Porto may not be the best Mediterranean spot in Back Bay, its seafood offerings, particularly the Seared Bronzino, make it worth a return visit. The pricing, given the quality and ambiance, also doesn’t feel too excessive. But the real winner of the night were the two homemade cookies we took home. I went in knowing it was pricey and upscale which was fitting for the special occasion. Let me just say we had an absolutely incredible night. We had a larger party and Yasmin helped me plan the event and accommodated all of us. The hostess was even in on the surprise as she pretended to seat us for 2 when we arrived. Anthony was our server and he was so incredibly patient and fun and very very efficient. He and Yasmin made this a night to remember and I was able to relax knowing that everything was being taken care of behind the scenes. We were even given a private room which we did not expect at all and that made our experience that much better. The food and atmosphere were just so great and so special. Main thoughts on the food are: - Calamari and patatas bravas were the standouts. Would definitely recommend. - Both the clams and mussels appeared to made with a similar sauce, so could have just gotten one or the other without missing out on much. Also, the sauces had a noticeably butter-y taste. - Meatballs were small, tough, and so tightly packed that none of the sauce could permeate inside. Would skip. - Hamachi and salmon crudo were both fresh and well-presented, but had similar citrus flavors so again could have just gotten one or the other. - Cauliflower was not particularly memorable or unique, would skip. - Mushrooms were tender, but made with vinegar. This take was unique, but I was personally not a fan. Overall, this is a cute place to go with friends. Service, decor, presentation, portion sizes, and food quality were all great. Just didn't have that extra oomph of flavor to make me excited about coming back again. 3.5 stars“

There's limited street parking and I believe you are allowed to park in the lot by the grocery store. There's no sign saying otherwise. This includes the area directly in front of the restaurant and across the street on the side of Russo’s Tux.
