“Good spot for breakfast north of Boston. Most of my food was pretty good, and they do give you lots of it.I got their buffalo chicken waffles special, which was obviously something a little different but I thought it was tasty. Their homefries were nothing to write home about, pun fully intended. They were pretty mushy with only a few crispy spots.Servers were very nice. Line cooks were fast too.Didn't try any yet so I don't know how they are, but they have a wide variety of muffins behind the counter. It is great that the price is right here. Very hard to find restaurants around Boston that actually give you a decent amount of food at a reasonable price.“
“Friendly Toast really is, in my opinion, the perfect kind of breakfast place. The menu boasts both typical breakfast mainstays and adventurous forays into breakfast innovation. The environment is artsy but undoubtedly diner. And of course, the coffee is caffeinated and bottomless. Plus, although they are insanely popular, the service moves quickly. And the kindness of the staff isn't lost in the shuffle. Our server, Megan, was adorable, and she is very honestly a primary reason for our interest in returning on a future date.“
“I’ve had them all, all the breakfast sandwiches Boston has to offer. And while there are some seriously good contenders, there’s a new champ in town. This is hands down, the undisputed best breakfast sandwich you can currently get in the Boston area. The freshly made English muffins are impeccable, the eggs always perfectly cooked. They use the highest quality ingredients, their bacon and sausage are just next level deliciousness. But it’s the small attention to details that put them over the top. Additionally, they have great customer service and if your order online you can cut the lines that form on the weekend. And don’t sleep on their ever growing lunch options, my personal fave being the turkey #1, add sunny sauce, in fact add sunny sauce to anything you get here, it’s that good. Sunny Girl is a true breakfast gem.“
“Ahmed, the owner, is a great and generous man. He has created a perfect place if you want to go somewhere with a great atmosphere, where the staff is friendly and accommodating to all needs. I have been there a few times now and every time have felt welcome, and have been served excellent food. Their breakfast sandwiches are perfect if you need a quick bite to eat before work, or if you go for lunch their menu is excellent offering a wide variety of selections. I honestly would recommend this establishment to anyone looking for something great to eat in the Brighton area of Boston.“
“I recently visited Brookline Lunch in Cambridge on a busy Sunday afternoon for brunch and the place was packed--there was even a line outside! To expedite the wait, I strategically left my partner holding our spot while I popped over to a nearby ATM for cash, knowing this spot is cash-only. After about 30-40 minutes, we were finally seated inside. Despite the crowd, the restaurant exuded a cozy, homely atmosphere. I started off with a Turkish coffee, which was akin to a condensed espresso but had a wonderfully aromatic effect. It was not quite my cup of tea/coffee but I'm more of a latte fan. I could still appreciate the artistry of it and enjoyed trying something different. For my main course, I opted for the spicy sausage shakshuka, and I thought it was a unique take on the dish. Unlike any shakshuka I've had elsewhere, this version felt more like a hearty breakfast bowl, with fewer tomato sauce but packed with all my favorite ingredients--potatoes, sausage, poached eggs, garbanzo, carrots, and delicious naan bread. We read a review that recommended the chili oil sauce and requested some. It added a nice kick to the bowl. We also decided to order the Baklava pancakes to share. While undeniably delicious, they were extremely sweet, with the top pancake boasting generous toppings of pistachio and baklava. It's a unique dish and a must-have for those with a sweet tooth, but personally, I preferred the savory shakshuka. Overall, I highly recommend everyone to try Brookline Lunch at least once. I'll certainly be back, but perhaps when the lines aren't as daunting!“
“Holy cow!!! This place exceeded ALL expectations set forth by all the reviews of it! I’m disappointed that I don’t remember the name of the server and owner, but fantastic humans for sure! I had the hungry man (sausage, bacon, 3 eggs fried, potatoes, a pancake and toast) my husband had the meat lovers omelet. Wow!!! Takes just like homemade (cause it is) and made my tummy so happy! HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Your taste buds will thank you!“
“Wow, there are some miserable people out there leaving reviews!Folks, DO read the reviews of the actual customers! They are NOT TRYING TO FOOL YOU!!!GREAT FOOD!These people actually cook their own food! They do not warm the soup out of a can!! They do not buy frozen Spinach pie and cook it for you…. they actually make it with fresh ingredients! They always try to listen to their customers and if it’s not on the menu and they have the ingredients they’ll make it for you…. Because they care! They have been caring for the customers for 23 years!“
“Old school diner feel but clean and servers are attentive. Food is consistent and quality is better than most other diners around. If you're coming on the weekend, come early, before 10am for less wait. On the weekdays, they're busy too but not as packed so should be able to get a table with little to no wait. They post specials and uses seasonal ingredients.“
“This place is authentic and warm, the food is simple but delicious, nothing pretentious/fancy, just good food, and we love it for that. The atmosphere is simple and relaxed, great for having a conversation, the service is excellent, and the prices are great. Best breakfast/lunch/brunch in the area!“
“This little bakery is cute. I walked I'm ans quickly realized it was cash only so I did have to go dig cash out of my car. I was greeted by the sweetest woman. The bagels I got were delicious. They were perfectly dense and huge! Only $2 per bagel which was great! 1000% recommend!“
“With breakfast being my favorite meal, I am always looking for something savory and sweet. My friend and I did a little trading of French toast. The Fire king and banana bread french toast were both flavorful and different in their pens. The fire king had cinnamon swirl in the batter. The banana bread french toast was the perfect combo. For the savory, you can go wrong with the classic: eggs, bacon, potatoes (and hash browns, we split those too) and toast.Definitely will get back!“
“Everytime I come here the food always comes out correctly. On my last visit having lunch with my mom I had their new smothered chicken sandwich it was so delicious packed a huge piece of chicken with the toppings it fell apart while I was eating it so used a fork and knife.“
“What an absolute find this place was! A little hole-in-the-wall restaurant that's easy to miss. Extremely friendly service with unbeatable prices! Menu fairly limited, but they offer a good amount of specials and you can find pretty much anything you would at most breakfast places. Got a biscuit breakfast sandwich that was on special. Came with home fries and ordered a side of bacon as well. Food came out quick and everything was delicious. Staff seemed to know every customer there or that came in for takeout. I need to become a regular here and cannot wait to come back!“
“This is such a lovely cafe!! The prices are great and food and drink tasty! And the atmosphere is fun and beautiful! We were visiting family and took full advantage of Evergreen as a morning fuel-up. Thank you for your awesomeness Evergreen Cafe????“
“My favorite family breakfast spot in the heart of Roxbury, always a vibe always great food always love!!! The best coffee in Boston by the way!!! Service is excellent friendly warm, and kind!!! Be there tomorrow morning... sincerely Blue... find me on IG @bluebossMvt“
“The best brunch on the Northshore. Christopher's is one of Lynn's hidden gems. We go out of out way to return as often as we can. The Spanish Omlette with corned beef hash is cooked to perfection. The egg wraps, sandwiches, and most of all the home fries are fabulous. The service is always top-notch. They even went out of their way to stock turkey bacon after we mentioned it during one of our visits. Thank you!Kid-friendliness: A hit with the kids. The waitress and chef were very accommodating and the hot chocolate was a hit.“
“We were craving breakfast food and this was the spot we chose which was perfect bc it was close to the hotel. Everyone ordered their basic 2 egg breakfast, I ordered their Mediterranean Menemen/Shaksuka which was delicious. 1 less star bc the home fries were a bit too soggy for our taste. Both the lady who sat us and the gentleman who took our order were very very kind. I would definitely recommend.“
“Local breakfast/lunch joint. Been a part of Watertown landscape forever!Great food, fast courteous service and wicked good prices! This is a cash only establishment.Had the corn beef hash with 2 eggs (they don't do poached on the weekends); my wife had the egg and cheese sandwich on a bagel. Both super and ample servings!“
“The nicest people in town! The waitresses are super nice and the kitchen is always consistent and delicious- especially the omelettes and chocolate chip pancakes! If you’re looking for a warm atmosphere to enjoy your breakfast this is the spot! :) 10/10“
“Mike’s Patty’s is really tasty. I visited the location within a little plaza as a pop up, but never got to try it. I finally got to try it today and it was delicious. I love how they prepare the egg! It’s such a perfect texture.. well cooked but the yoke slightly uncooked. The price is pretty steep, i paid $23 for a sandwich and a drink. The wait wasn’t very long but parking can be a bit complicated. I would recommend Mike’s.“
“Had food catered for 2 events from here now. Pretty quick and great communication. Handling university catering is no joke and they have deliciously impressed every student at both events. Highly recommend for catering Dominican American Brunches.“
“Don't judge a book by its cover. First impression was that the cafe was small and really busy. But after we were seated and Kim came over to greet us, she was friendly and really terrific. The place calmed down a bit, we had a great table, and the food was really good. Omelette was great, tasty pancakes, home fries were crispy. We ended up lingering way too long. I would absolutely come back for the great service and the food. You have to get past the size of the cafe, and after that, you'll become a fan like we did.“
“In a quest to tap into my childhood, pile driving bowls of Cap'n Crunch, I sought a breakfast spot that boasts a crusted French toast that will send me soaring back to the 90s. Well, move over Mario, it's time for Luigi's to take center stage.Luigi's is a no-frills North Shore diner that excels in greasy spoon comfort breakfast and lunch options with big portions. As mentioned, my personal favorite breakfast option is the perfectly griddled Cap'n Crunch French toast - a delightful crunch on the crust which remains moist and approachable, otherwise. Paired with butter, powdered sugar, and syrup, it may spike your blood sugar, but it's well worth it. For "healthier" fare, the feedback on the veggie omelet was fluffy, fresh, and tasty. The potato sides (both hash browns and home fries) were well-seasoned and plentiful. Coffee is what you'd expect.Amidst the slightly chaotic table setups, find solace at the expansive granite bar top, boasting a dozen or so stools for a cozy dining experience. The service is friendly and reliable, ensuring your cup is never empty. And when warmth graces the months, don't miss the ice cream stand's lineup of Richardson's local favorites.Luigi's captures the essence of a classic diner with finesse, delivering on a diverse menu that's bound to satisfy your cravings. Brace yourself, however, and come hungry!“
“Paul Revere Restaurant is a step back in time (in the best way) to old-fashioned diner style eating. I had to Two Lanterns and some hot coffee. The plate was super filling and delicious while being a no-frills joint. Prices were very reasonable, and you can tell a lot of diners were regulars based on their conversations with staff. Our waitress was great, and consistently checked in and topped our coffee off. We're already planning our visit back!“
“I got some bagels from here not too long ago as a pick up order. While I can't comment on the service and atmosphere eating in the establishment, I can see that these bagels are fantastic. As someone who has lived in New York, I feel that I have a say on what good bagels are like. I feel that Boston in general does not have an established bagel presence that New York does. However, exodus feels close to the average New York bagel does.“
“Just came back from Robert’s the atmosphere was great. The wait staff was wonderful . We got blueberry pancakes , home fries and an omelette all were amazing. We cleared our plates. The place was very clean and put together I would definitely be going back :)“
“Ate here on vacation twice and the family loved it. Breakfast was great- I had the breakfast sandwich and the kids had pancakes. Lunch had many unexpected items. I had the musaka, which I had no idea what it was, but it was amazing. The guys working the counter bantered and were a ton of fun.“
“This little place is nice. One way they could drastically improve is to put the food on real plates with real silverware. This is inside a building with a very cool history, it is across the street from the state house. I understand people try to save money, but for the people dining in, they need to have something of substance. I felt like I was camping using those cheap little plastic utensils.“
“I only eat here once in a blue moon years before but recently I have been ordering through delivery and it has not disappointed me at all. I had the chicken(tenders)&waffle on Thursday and it was HEAVEN!! Then Friday I ordered the egg&bacon sandwich on dark rye with a bowl of grits. Delicious again! Now I am putting in another order today on Saturday and so far nothing on the menu is a miss. Keep up the great work Brothers!!“
“This is a place that is on the regular rotation for me- I am surprised I haven't reviewed yet! It is a walk up window that has surprisingly good (aka long) hours that really hits the spot when I have a health food itch. It has a great selection of smoothies, power juices and bowls. While I have tried quite a few, I have landed on berrylicious being my favorite treat after a Saturday morning workout (sweet with protein in the greek yogurt base). It is 9 dollars for a small, but it feels very worth it for the quality and consistency of these smoothies. There is plenty of parking right up in front of the window and in the warmer months there is seating out front!“
“I was just informed recently that this place exists and I am so glad! It's a small spot with a couple of tables inside and a few outside as well. It's a CASH ONLY establishment, FYI.The iced tea comes in medium and large and the large is MASSIVE and tasty (plain brewed black iced tea) We each got muffins grilled with butter. I got the French vanilla muffin and it was delicious. R got a chocolate chip muffin and we both tried both and agree that they're delicious and that we want to go back. While we were outside, a gentleman who I'm guessing may be the owner, approached us to ask if we wanted plates for our muffins, and also offered refills on the massive iced teas, which we declined, this time, but it was so generous of him to offer! Absolutely 2 thumbs up, all the stars, A+ all around!“
“A friend just moved to Roslindale and we found the Blue Star. I had thought the restaurants like this had been chased away. This is good food, prepared quickly and there's always a cup of coffee. She had the corned beef hash and I the blue berry pancakes. Both were delicious. Service was insanely speedy and really nice. If you need a no pretense place for breakfast -- this is the place. Amazing.“
“I stopped for Breakfast, and I asked to pack part of my meal since I know I won't eat it now. However the kitchen decided otherwise, and the side food has to go to the plate and again on a container. The food was good and delicious. It seems a very comfortable local diner for breakfast, and mostly everyone knows each other. I liked the vibe.“
“Great little breakfast diner that is family owned and has delicious home cooked food with friendly service. There is bottomless coffee and very generous portion sizes. It is a little gem in Somerville that has regulars and a friendly atmosphere. This place is cash only and there is an ATM inside if you need some money. This place is worth a visit!“
“Solid breakfast experience! Chicken and Waffles Benedict was delicious. Breading on the chicken was perfect even if the chicken was just a little overcooked. Coffee was fresh and tasted great. Will definitely be back here!Parking: Parking seemed to be fine though it's angled and right on VFW Parkway which makes leaving a bit of a challenge. You may want to park around the corner to avoid the hassle.Kid-friendliness: I can see parents bringing their kids here though there weren't any when I went.Wheelchair accessibility: Entrance is level with the sidewalk and there are ramps from street to curb.“
“One of my favorite breakfast restaurants in East Watertown. That’s saying something because there are 5 or 6 excellent places near East Watertown. California Omlette and California Benedict for us. Delicious! And I love the Coffee. Not a common brand (get it?). String but good.“
“Absolutely love this place. Nothing better than a great family owned diner.Great people, great service, great food. What more could you ask for?I can't tell you how many times I have been running late and they get me in and out in a flash.I wish they were open later in the day but I understand why they aren't.If you want to support an excellent family owned local business stop in and check them out, but make sure you are aware of the hours so you aren't unnecessarily disappointed.“
