“Food is always amazing. They have the best popovers that they serve hot and fresh to every table when you come in. The service is always top notch and atmosphere is great for date night or dinner with the family. We have consistently had excellent meals with original options, as well as some regular choices, well executed. Highly recommend.“

“I might just be a simple man with a simple family. But my family and I think this place is a destination restaurant. We've had fish & chips all over - including New York City, Epcot, and Boston. But this unassuming restaurant astounded us with their fish and chips. Our server tells us that they get their fish fresh every morning, so that might have something to do with it. “One of my favorite bar to vist and bring my friends from out of town. Even tho there was rain ? showers early morning ? the sun came out and became a very beautiful day out at *54. Windy but worth every penny I spent here...I highly recommend this is one of the top Gloucester restaurants to vist if u come to town. I most highly recommend. “Good atmosphere. The guys at the entrance were pretty cool greeting us. We had a great time and great bartenders, and we didn't have to wait long for our drinks rounds after rounds, even though there were 13 of us.There were live performance, but we could barely hear the music or what they were playing from the far side of the room. AndThe only thing I found a little odd and off put was when an older lady went around with a bucket asking everyone to tip the band. I have been to many bars with bands playing, but never once did I encounter this. Doesn't the bar usually cover the band? I guess it might be different here because we didn't pay a cover charge?? ?Overall, it's a great place to hang out. Good vibe, good food, and drink menu.“
“The Emerson Inn is a quaint hotel with the most kind of people working there. From the moment you walk through the doors you feel the immediate welcome and are instantly at peace. “We were visiting Manchester by the sea and went to this restaurant for our first dinner, this did not disappoint whatsoever! First of all, the menu was amazing and had an exceptional amount of options. The ambiance was perfect with low music and lighting, great for families and couples on date nights! Service was pretty decent... we had a waitress who was training another one which was nice to see the work progress, overall they remembered everything and were very professional, kind, and knowledgeable.“

She sized us up when we walked in and said, "just a minute", "sure, no rush", And then the waitress brought us upstairs to our table by a huge picture window overlooking the ocean (downstairs was pretty busy).
