“You will avoid going to chain restaurants after going to The Causeway. The food is fantastic and the kitchen staff are quick with the orders. Get the onion rings and a bowl of their fish or clam chowder. You won't be disappointed. The waitress is amazing ??“
“Went in SEPT in 2023. Overall, the dining experience was pleasurable and memorable. But, for the prices... no thanks. The portions were good and plating was great. Potates were out of this world delicious. The steak, while cooked as ordered, was not a great cut. While the in-bone marrow was a next level touch, Ive also had easier to eat steaks for a third of the cost. Also... please don't cut my steak up and let every last drop of juice leave the $100 steak before i get to eat it....but at least it looked nice right? The asparagus with my plate was aweful. I ate maybe a 1/3 of the stems. My wife enjoyed her plate, but said was not "wowed".Service was... different? We did not receive the normal amount of visits, and it made it hard for me to order a second drink timed well. Very polite and pleasant though. The atmosphere was confusing and chaotic maybe? We sat in the back right and it just seemed that the restaurant couldnt make up its mind. Very open. The name of the restaurant does not evoke the atmosphere we found.Nice place? Yes. Nice people? Yes. Would I rather drop $200+ at another local spot with a more comfortable space and perfectly juicy meat with money to spare for dessert? Absolutely.“
“One of my favorite bar to vist and bring my friends from out of town. Even tho there was rain ? showers early morning ? the sun came out and became a very beautiful day out at *54. Windy but worth every penny I spent here...I highly recommend this is one of the top Gloucester restaurants to vist if u come to town. I most highly recommend. I myself will always be back you can count on that. Shane“
“A real gem. Very friendly staff. Fun ambiance.Terrific, authentic Portuguese/Azorean food. The Portuguese soup is among the best I've had. Octopus is fantastic, as is the calamari. Whole bronzino was simply amazing. Very generous cocktails/wine. Definitely worth a return visit the next time I am in Gloucester.“
“The owners of this restaurant are 2 generations of a family from Brazil who spent years working in fine dining in Boston and Gloucester, learning every kind of world cuisine, from Asia to Europe to the US and their native South America before opening their own restaurant right before COVId hit. The father, who had not even boiled water when they left Brazil 25 years ago, now has a repertoire of 600 soups alone! Anyway, they made it through the pandemic thank God, and in addition to the spectacular food at a very fair price, the ambience is warm and inviting. This is the kind of place you can take your family and friends and linger over good food and wine. You will all want to taste each other's food. I don't even know what to recommend first because it's all so good but ok, the lobster bisque is the best I have ever tasted and the flan with orange marmelade drizzled on top is an ingenuous Brazilian/Latino/American fusion! I highly recommend Olivers Harbor to any and everyone who loves delicious food made and served with joy and love.“
“Great little breakfast, lunch and dinner spot. Super reasonably priced, which was a great find for us. Grilled cheese was 3.99, add a bowl of their amazing haddock chowder or the lobster bisque, a great meal all around! Our server was polite, friendly and spot on in her service to our table. Our was busy when we got there, they were just winding down from lunch. Don't forget to get dessert too, we had blueberry pie, made with those delicious Maine wild blueberries. It's a great spot not to be missed. Decor was simple, but the place was clean. Give them a try!Vegetarian options: A vegetarian will find lots of choices.Dietary restrictions: They will make it any way you like.Parking: Lots of free parking, could get tight during busy hours or the weekend!Kid-friendliness: Great Kids menu!Wheelchair accessibility: Easy in easy out, will fit a wheelchair in the bathroom!“

“First visit - won't be my last. My friend ordered a baked haddock dish which she loved. I got the orange chicken bowl and it was yummy. Would go back just for that. We both had wine, which we enjoyed - some interesting choices. Service was terrific. Highly recommend.“
“I had a hot lobster roll and a cup of clam chowder, girlfriend had fish and chips and we got an order of onion rings to share. The truth is we couldn't finish all the food we got, though not for lack of trying! The portions were so generous, we could have split an entrée and still been stuffed. Chowder was perfectly solid, just a really good, authentic New England clam chowder. The lobster roll was just piled with fresh, tender, juicy lobster meat. It didn't really hold up as a sandwich you could pick up, but that barely matters. The fish and chips was crisp and fresh. And actually the onion rings were a surprising highlight of the meal. They were fresh, you could tell they are cut and battered on-site, and you can tell they do a great job of changing out their fry-oil because they didn't have any of that fishy smell/taste that sometimes happens with places that are frying a lot of fish and other items. Overall the meal was 10/10 for value and quality.“
“Short & Main in Gloucester is a culinary gem, seamlessly blending coastal charm with exquisite cuisine. The seafood-focused menu showcases fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and the inventive dishes reflect a commitment to quality. The intimate ambiance, attentive service, and a thoughtfully curated wine list contribute to an exceptional dining experience.“
“Thank you, Gloucester for proving that great food is here. Cierra (spelling?) Thank you for great recommendations, steak tips (bites?) Fried clams, WOW. And the old fashioned, fantastic. My sister and myself loved the music as well. Please, if you have the time and can get into Decklyn's, don't hesitate, it's all amazing. ❣️❣️❣️“
“We have ordered seafood from Intershell a few times and have never been disappointed! It ships to you in 2 days like they promise and WOW what a difference in taste! The Haddock is sweet and has a lot of flavor as well as their Blue Fin Tuna. We just got our order from them which was 10 lbs of medium size scallops in the shell and it came with the knife to shuck them and at first I was hesitant as we had never done that and let me tell you we were not disappointed one bit! They were sweet tender and succulent!! Will be ordering these again! This company will not disappoint! You want fresh seafood this is where you get!“
“100% my favorite spot in Gloucester! It’s so easy to pop in for a coffee or even better, a glass of wine. It’s casual, relaxed and really just all around the best. The views are GREAT and in the summer when the door is open and a nice breeze comes through there is nothing better. ALL the bartenders are so nice and wonderful to top it off. Just stop thinking about going and GO! I’ve turned every single one of my family members onto this place and they all love it just as much.“
“Not just lunch! Dinner, drinks, delivery. We moved to Florida and miss the Pilot house so much. When we come back this is always where we go! Winnie and her staff/family are just the best. The wonton soup is the best anywhere! The Mai Tais are fabulous. Can't wait to get back there soon!“
“It's an original vintage diner style Bistro with all the charm of the 50's and 2023' classic seashore menu.Complete selection of menu items, so extensive it took 3 minutes to review them all. We settled on roast beef sandwiches with all the toppings and delighted by the presentation, size, freshness of the bun, and most importantly, the melt in your mouth roast beef. The real deal!!The French Fries and Onion rings were remarkable!!!I topped it off with a fresh berries frozen yogurt!!! Prepared right in front of us. Don’t pass this one up!“
“Wonderful oysters and fantastic baked stuffed lobster. Clam chowder pretty good and Milo loved the beef filet. The employees were really nice and I'm super impressed by the friendliness of the local people. Real good experience for me.“
