“Visited for the first time last night and I can't believe we waited so long. This place is delicious! It's a cute place with a large bar and seating at well spaced tables, plenty of elbow room. Service was great. Server (owner or manager maybe?) was very warm and friendly. I got the Machaca (beef brisket) rolled up in a chimichanga while my partner had a variety of tacos. It was all amazing! Even the sauce on the chimi had me cleaning my plate! Another owner(?), cook(?) also stopped by to check on us and explained the family background about some menu items. We were delighted. The margarita was also tasty. We will definitely be back for another taco Tuesday (or Margaritas Monday, etc.). I think this is our new favorite in the area. Can't wait to try more food!“

“The Franklin exceeded our expectations! We were in Cape Ann to visit the Edward Hopper Exhibit at the Cape Ann Museum (exhibit now closed). We Googled nearby restaurants for a quick bite before driving to Cambridge for an Early Music Festival concert. The Franklin came up with very good reviews and it was, yes, right outside our window where we had parked! It was an easy decision to go in. Although the restaurant was booked up, we got a couple of seats at the bar in the main room which shares the same house menu. We were seated next to a kind local couple who helped us with menu choices. The food was very good. We ordered the two pastas from the menu to split and a side of cooked spinach (no garlic because of the concert!). The regular-menu Ravioli was good; the edges were thicker and more aldente than I liked (my husband liked it). The Daily Pasta was close to perfect. Fettuccine with Chicken, Mushroom and Alfredo Sauce. The Spinach was as ordered and it was a huge amount. We each ordered a glass of wine.We will definitely return if ever again in Gloucester, MA. We might even plan to return...Dietary restrictions: The Hostess mentioned that The Franklin has many Gluten Free items on the menu. She was a regular customer because of it and decided, "Why not work here?"Kid-friendliness: I would not have brought my young children. As grown young men, they would love The Franklin.“

“I might just be a simple man with a simple family. But my family and I think this place is a destination restaurant. We've had fish & chips all over - including New York City, Epcot, and Boston. But this unassuming restaurant astounded us with their fish and chips. Our server tells us that they get their fish fresh every morning, so that might have something to do with it. We will be coming back here for sure.“

“Good atmosphere. The guys at the entrance were pretty cool greeting us. We had a great time and great bartenders, and we didn't have to wait long for our drinks rounds after rounds, even though there were 13 of us.There were live performance, but we could barely hear the music or what they were playing from the far side of the room. AndThe only thing I found a little odd and off put was when an older lady went around with a bucket asking everyone to tip the band. I have been to many bars with bands playing, but never once did I encounter this. Doesn't the bar usually cover the band? I guess it might be different here because we didn't pay a cover charge?? ?Overall, it's a great place to hang out. Good vibe, good food, and drink menu.“

“Beautiful location on the water in downtown Rockport. The main dining area is tiny and because it's directly overlooking the water, it's crowded and gets loud. They'd benefit from sound deadening material on the ceiling or walls. There's a small deck with tables in warmer months too.Vegetarian options: Plenty of veggie and vegan options, including vegan burger bun and vegan cheese.Parking: In the winter, there is parking directly in front of the restaurant on the wharf. That parking isn't really available in summer due to the popularity. There is also street parking and a couple of lots in other parts of downtown Rockport, then you walk to the restaurant.Kid-friendliness: Kids menu with chicken fingers, burgers, etc. Extra large crayon pack (6 colors)!“

“35 Beach is worth a visit! In the old Beach Street location in Manchester-by-the-Sea. New owners completely remodeled inside, and it is fresh and welcoming. Food and service are excellent! I had not realized they served breakfast too, until yesterday when we stopped in - was excellent and happy to have such a nice breakfast spot back on Cape Ann...“
