First of all, the menu was amazing and had an exceptional amount of options. The ambiance was perfect with low music and lighting, great for families and couples on date nights! Service was pretty decent... we had a waitress who was training another one which was nice to see the work progress, overall they remembered everything and were very professional, kind, and knowledgeable.“

“Just bellied up to Austin's copper bar for some yummy lunch. This cozy place, clearly reeking of history and warm vibes, served amazing portions and great flavors. I'm a Reuben fanatic. Mercy served up just what you'd want in a Reuben! My seasonal veggie side was fresh and flavorful without becoming soggy or bland. Respect. Thankfully, my friend order the fries. These were special- truffle and Parmesan russets perfectly fried to crispy yet still soft and warm inside. The big surprise was when I noticed whole garlic cloves roasted and scattered throughout! Amazing. Local and some far delicious tap selections rounded out our experience (I had a Guinness). Thanks so much Austin at Mercy! You've got a great thing going! We will be back!“

This place isn't just great food, but also extremely friendly staff. I unfortunately didn't think to take photos, but we got the whipped ricotta and shared the salad. I got the chicken dish and my wife the pasta. Everything was amazing. It does seem like the dishes are on a fairly frequent rotation so new dishes pop up unless I'm mistaken. Highly recommend trying this place out and make sure you get reservations as there is limited seating.“

It is a bit loud when the entire place is full but we were sat closer to the kitchen & it was a the perfect table. I was surprised the sounds were not overwhelming. “We were very excited to try the Blue Marlin from reviews we’ve seen. I have to mention our initial reaction was a little sketchy when we first entered and encountered the hostess. She looked at my family (including me, my wife & 2 adult daughters) and asked… “What can I do for you?” with an unwelcoming look on her face we interpreted to mean What are you people doing here? If we weren’t celebrating my wife’s birthday I probably would have left. She brought us to our table, literally threw the menus on the table and said someone would be with us. THANKFULLY, our server came and was super friendly. Everything else went well. The food was pretty good and seemed fresh. We also enjoyed the atmosphere. The only other slight disappointment, though not a big thing, was I mentioned my wife’s birthday to our server but no special recognition was afforded her. Would probably like to return and try it again.Wheelchair accessibility: Felt that interior restaurant tables might be a little too close to allow for easy wheelchair access“

“Zeno’s has always been great, but it’s time to face the facts; over the last couple years they’ve gone to another level entirely and are, by far, the best Beef spot in Massachusetts. While other trendy spots in the North Shore have become obsessed with pretentiously packing as much (average) beef as possible into their sandwich to get looks on social media or whatever, Zeno’s keeps it OG and uses appropriate but never thrifty amounts of their absolutely untouchable beef in every sandwich, making it a much more well balanced sandwich experience overall. There’s always a hint of “spice” to their beef but once again, unlike other spots, they don’t overdo it in an attempt to club you over the head. They simply let their untouchable product shine. Add to this some of the friendliest employees you’ll ever find anywhere to the mix and you have the stuff of legend. Zeno’s is the king.“

“The owners of this restaurant are 2 generations of a family from Brazil who spent years working in fine dining in Boston and Gloucester, learning every kind of world cuisine, from Asia to Europe to the US and their native South America before opening their own restaurant right before COVId hit. The father, who had not even boiled water when they left Brazil 25 years ago, now has a repertoire of 600 soups alone! Anyway, they made it through the pandemic thank God, and in addition to the spectacular food at a very fair price, the ambience is warm and inviting. This is the kind of place you can take your family and friends and linger over good food and wine. You will all want to taste each other's food. I don't even know what to recommend first because it's all so good but ok, the lobster bisque is the best I have ever tasted and the flan with orange marmelade drizzled on top is an ingenuous Brazilian/Latino/American fusion! I highly recommend Olivers Harbor to any and everyone who loves delicious food made and served with joy and love.“

“Unpretentious breakfast & lunch spot that is busy for a reason, and hasn't disappointed us in 20+years. It's a local family-friendly, multi-generational favorite. Here we adore the omlettes made from eggs that are evenly cooked with interior fillings tucked just short of bursting; fork-tender, lightly seasoned homefries that are knife-cut from red-bliss potatoes with the skins left on; cornbeef hash made from scratch; big pancakes and French toasts made to order. The short order cooks are impressively in constant motion as they work the busy griddlle. If you like to watch this activity, they are not in a hidden kitchen.Friendly servers are unobtrusive and everything prepared reaches you hot. Your coffee will be refilled without question. This is a homey-style establishment where you exit with a full belly and [the only drawback from 5 stars] is you smell like the kitchen. In the spring and summer there are a few outdoor tables. When driving up, if the parking lot seems full, expect a 10-15+ min wait. Just find a spot on the side/rear lot and be patient.Parking: Read the lot signs to avoid parking in other business' spots (so you don't get towed away).Kid-friendliness: There are high-chairs for kiddos. Drinks for kids are served with lids and straws.“

We really enjoyed our time in Ipswich; some of the nicest and friendliest people we have ever met.We arrived at the Inn around lunch time and asked for suggestions for lunch; we tried them all during our stay and loved them all. Oh, and the breakfast at the Inn is great; we are missing walking downstairs to a great breakfast every morning.Love the location of the Inn. Basically, overlooks the town and everything is within walking distance. The Choate Bridge Pub and Brown Dog Restaurant are an easy walk straight down the hill from the Inn; we tried them both and enjoyed them both. I believe the Brown Dog was our favorite; ate there three time during the week and met some very nice people there. Also, the Ipswich Ale Brewery is worth a visit with good food and beer. While in town, if you want to try something different, check out the 1634 Meadery. Very cool.We really enjoyed our visit and hope to return some day; hopefully bring the grandkids next time. “We visit family in Marblehead and this is definitely one of the places on the short list, honestly, because of their menu offerings. Their fried shrimp is pretty darned good and their classic New England coleslaw accompaniment is done better than others around the area (many have a vinegar base)! Fries are solid, straight cut, and very good. We had Bacon Wrapped Scallops for an appetizer and we're impressed! The service was very pleasant and efficient. We had a round of drinks from the bar before dinner. The bloody mary was heavy on horseradish, the MBC Lunch seemed a little less than fresh, and the Switchback Amber was perfect! “The Franklin exceeded our expectations! We were in Cape Ann to visit the Edward Hopper Exhibit at the Cape Ann Museum (exhibit now closed). We Googled nearby restaurants for a quick bite before driving to Cambridge for an Early Music Festival concert. The Franklin came up with very good reviews and it was, yes, right outside our window where we had parked! It was an easy decision to go in. Although the restaurant was booked up, we got a couple of seats at the bar in the main room which shares the same house menu. We were seated next to a kind local couple who helped us with menu choices. The food was very good. We ordered the two pastas from the menu to split and a side of cooked spinach (no garlic because of the concert!). The regular-menu Ravioli was good; the edges were thicker and more aldente than I liked (my husband liked it). The Daily Pasta was close to perfect. Fettuccine with Chicken, Mushroom and Alfredo Sauce. The Spinach was as ordered and it was a huge amount. We each ordered a glass of wine.We will definitely return if ever again in Gloucester, MA. We might even plan to return...Dietary restrictions: The Hostess mentioned that The Franklin has many Gluten Free items on the menu. She was a regular customer because of it and decided, "Why not work here?"Kid-friendliness: I would not have brought my young children. As grown young men, they would love The Franklin.“

I had the baked oysters, which was a first for me and I'd return for them as well as the mussels! We had the special Sea Bass and the Seafood Risotto, both large portions and excellent! Their special Old Fashion was made the same way as my all time favorite of bourbon on the rocks with an orange slice or twist but made perfect muddled with sugar and cherries. The Old Fashioned and wine were huge free pours. Reservations are difficult to get, so plan early and let them respond with availability. The large private parking lot is not large enough!! Cars were overflowing to the side street! Will return for sure!“

“Staff and service are great. Good draft beer selection, with something for everyone. Steak tips were delicious, big portion and plate overflowing with crispy fries. Included side salad was basic iceberg but loaded with cherry tomatoes, croutons, cheddar and just enough red onion -salad also overflowed the plate. Seemed a bit pricey for a pub, until it was placed on the bar in front of me!“

We appreciated the helpfulness of the staff and the short wait-time for our order to be prepared. We went back again for lunch the following day.“
