“My wife gets all the credit for introducing me to this restaurant. I didn't know what to expect, but definitely one of the best restaurants I've been to in Massachusetts. This place isn't just great food, but also extremely friendly staff. I unfortunately didn't think to take photos, but we got the whipped ricotta and shared the salad. I got the chicken dish and my wife the pasta. Everything was amazing. It does seem like the dishes are on a fairly frequent rotation so new dishes pop up unless I'm mistaken. Highly recommend trying this place out and make sure you get reservations as there is limited seating.“

She was attentive to all her tables ... it was very busy but she never made you feel like she didn't have time. It is a bit loud when the entire place is full but we were sat closer to the kitchen & it was a the perfect table. I was surprised the sounds were not overwhelming. We did have to wait for about 40 minutes for a table ... but it was Saturday @ dinner time. We chose to wait instead of sitting at the bar. We took our favorite pizza home with us .. fig & prosciutto... they did change the recipe but it was still amazing! Stop by if you're looking for great dishes or an outstanding pizza!“
“We had the best experience yesterday at Olde Main Street Pub. We sat outside and it was great people and dog watching. We started with the curry fries, which we had never had but the server encouraged the choice..it was delicious. I had salmon with summer succotash and my husband loved the curry so much, he ordered the veggie pub curry with chicken. Service was fantastic, very friendly, polite and informative. If we weren’t celebrating my wife’s birthday I probably would have left. She brought us to our table, literally threw the menus on the table and said someone would be with us. “Zeno’s has always been great, but it’s time to face the facts; over the last couple years they’ve gone to another level entirely and are, by far, the best Beef spot in Massachusetts. While other trendy spots in the North Shore have become obsessed with pretentiously packing as much (average) beef as possible into their sandwich to get looks on social media or whatever, Zeno’s keeps it OG and uses appropriate but never thrifty amounts of their absolutely untouchable beef in every sandwich, making it a much more well balanced sandwich experience overall. There’s always a hint of “spice” to their beef but once again, unlike other spots, they don’t overdo it in an attempt to club you over the head. They simply let their untouchable product shine. Add to this some of the friendliest employees you’ll ever find anywhere to the mix and you have the stuff of legend. Zeno’s is the king.“

“I made a mistake while ordering food for my wife. When she went to pick it up, she called me to express her frustration (anger) to me. I immediately contacted the restaurant and spoke with a woman who was on the phone on Thursday night. She was kind enough to replace the food, even though the mistake was mine. It was my first time ordering from this place, but it definitely won't be my last. Also, I must say that the swordfish I ordered was absolutely delicious!“

Each one was perfect, the servers are friendly and efficient, and we left very happy!I got the same breakfast each day: scrambled eggs, bacon and blueberry pancakes. Anyway, they made it through the pandemic thank God, and in addition to the spectacular food at a very fair price, the ambience is warm and inviting. I don't even know what to recommend first because it's all so good but ok, the lobster bisque is the best I have ever tasted and the flan with orange marmelade drizzled on top is an ingenuous Brazilian/Latino/American fusion! We really enjoyed our time in Ipswich; some of the nicest and friendliest people we have ever met.We arrived at the Inn around lunch time and asked for suggestions for lunch; we tried them all during our stay and loved them all. Oh, and the breakfast at the Inn is great; we are missing walking downstairs to a great breakfast every morning.Love the location of the Inn. Basically, overlooks the town and everything is within walking distance. The Choate Bridge Pub and Brown Dog Restaurant are an easy walk straight down the hill from the Inn; we tried them both and enjoyed them both. I believe the Brown Dog was our favorite; ate there three time during the week and met some very nice people there.Also, the Ipswich Ale Brewery is worth a visit with good food and beer. While in town, if you want to try something different, check out the 1634 Meadery. Very cool.We really enjoyed our visit and hope to return some day; hopefully bring the grandkids next time. You will not be disappointed with the Ipswich Inn Bed and Breakfast.“
“We visit family in Marblehead and this is definitely one of the places on the short list, honestly, because of their menu offerings. Their fried shrimp is pretty darned good and their classic New England coleslaw accompaniment is done better than others around the area (many have a vinegar base)! Fries are solid, straight cut, and very good. We had Bacon Wrapped Scallops for an appetizer and we're impressed! The service was very pleasant and efficient. We had a round of drinks from the bar before dinner. The bloody mary was heavy on horseradish, the MBC Lunch seemed a little less than fresh, and the Switchback Amber was perfect! We will be back when we are in town, for certain.“
“The Franklin exceeded our expectations!We were in Cape Ann to visit the Edward Hopper Exhibit at the Cape Ann Museum (exhibit now closed). We Googled nearby restaurants for a quick bite before driving to Cambridge for an Early Music Festival concert.The Franklin came up with very good reviews and it was, yes, right outside our window where we had parked!It was an easy decision to go in. Although the restaurant was booked up, we got a couple of seats at the bar in the main room which shares the same house menu. We were seated next to a kind local couple who helped us with menu choices.The food was very good. We ordered the two pastas from the menu to split and a side of cooked spinach (no garlic because of the concert!). The regular-menu Ravioli was good; the edges were thicker and more aldente than I liked (my husband liked it). The Daily Pasta was close to perfect. Fettuccine with Chicken, Mushroom and Alfredo Sauce. The Spinach was as ordered and it was a huge amount. We each ordered a glass of wine.We will definitely return if ever again in Gloucester, MA. We might even plan to return...Dietary restrictions: The Hostess mentioned that The Franklin has many Gluten Free items on the menu. She was a regular customer because of it and decided, "Why not work here?"Kid-friendliness: I would not have brought my young children. As grown young men, they would love The Franklin.“

It was a last-minute trip and found this little town an hour away from Boston. This place was walking distance right down main street from my airbnb. This place felt pretty welcoming and had a great list of different items on their menu. I was disappointed to find they didn't have their lobster roll anymore, but ended up going with their BLT and fries accompanied with a nice cold beer. Great first night getting settled in. “Just moved to the Boston area and celebrated our anniversary here. The clam chowder was excellent NE, and the French Onion soup was classic. I had the baked oysters, which was a first for me and I'd return for them as well as the mussels! We had the special Sea Bass and the Seafood Risotto, both large portions and excellent! Their special Old Fashion was made the same way as my all time favorite of bourbon on the rocks with an orange slice or twist but made perfect muddled with sugar and cherries. The Old Fashioned and wine were huge free pours. Reservations are difficult to get, so plan early and let them respond with availability. The large private parking lot is not large enough!! Cars were overflowing to the side street! Will return for sure!“
