“Fun restaurants on the border between Chinatown and downtown with a huge variety of hotpot offerings, different broths and other menu items for those that don’t want to engage in the messy fun. The service is great and super helpful especially for first timers. While the broths are great, overall the food is okay and will not blow your mind. The menu is a bit chaotic and it can be challenging to pick the right amounts and types of meat to use for the hotpot. I would probably try out different , smaller places going forward“
“I came here to celebrate Valentine's day with my husband. Personally speaking, I've not been a big fan of Asian fusion food, but I was delightfully surprised by the food at Myers & Chang. We got one beef udon dish and a braised beef dish, with both turning out very good but both a bit salty - so we had to get one more bowl of rice to top up. Additionally, they were kind enough to let me order a drink from the brunch menu. I would come back!“
“The food here is absolutely amazing and definitely worth the wait. Expect a wait time of 30 minutes to an hour due to its popularity, but it's well worth it. It's a pretty small place but can seat a lot. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Personally, I tried the Swing Pork Belly, Yo-In-Style Ramen Noodles, Beef and Enoki Cabbage Soup, and Black Fish Fillet with Szechuan Pickles. The Swing Pork Belly with its incredible garlic sauce and the Beef and Enoki Cabbage Soup with the perfect amount of spice and meat were standouts. If I could dine at Mountain House for every meal, I definitely would.“
“From start to finish it was amazing. The drinks and food were delicious. Atmosphere was so unique and you felt like you were truly in another place. The bartender we had was so different than anyone we've ever met. His food and drink recommendations were spot on.“
“The best dumplings I’ve ever had. My friend and I ordered seafood dumplings and we enjoyed it. We also had pork soup dumplings which was quite decent too. I recommend trying Dumpling House for the best food options if you’re in Cambridge area.“
“Feel like something's changed in the past year or so. The food doesn't seem as cared for and has lost some of it's charm. not sure if just a bad day or if the chef has changed but other way feeling a little sad. still tasty but not the WOW it was “
“I came here for birthday drinks with my girlfriends and I was amazed with their cocktails. The lychee martini is delicious! Probably best one I've had in Boston. Ambiance is hip and beautiful. Shout out to Bao for making us feel extra special that day ! Will definitely come back to try the food!“
“Don’t step on the thunder restaurant! Whatever you want! Every dish is delicious. Boston roast duck is an online restaurant? bullfrog, sweet and sour pork loin, crab meat with rice, pickled fresh beef, golden soup beef, golden baby cabbage, brown sugar glutinous rice cake, passion fruit fruit tea. Everything is great Eat and it’s so big! The little brother also said that they are constantly improving their dishes, including even the roast duck. ?“
“I was drawn in by the Roast Duck Noodle Soup - when I saw it, I knew that would be dinner for the night! Walking into Boston Soup Dumplings on Friday night, the restaurant was pretty full. The whole interior is made up of tables for seating. You have to order using a QR code, which probably makes the food come out faster. Of course I ordered the soup but I was slightly disappointed. The broth didn't have that much flavor and the duck was mostly bone. To be fair, it did mention on the menu that the broth wasn't spicy. I noted that and added some chili oil which definitely kicked it up a notch. The meat that was on the duck was beautifully seasoned - downright delicious! But there was so little of it, I found myself searching through the bone/skin/fat pieces trying to find more meat. Not sure if it was just my bowl or that's the way its served. Overall, it was a good experience and I know they're known for heir dumplings, so maybe I'll try that next time!“
“Got Mu Lan fillet fish, green beans, and fried pork chops. The food was very tasty, but I did feel that what I ordered felt a bit heavy. Recommend mulan for people who are looking for a filling and flavorful meal. I was there at 8PM and waited about 10 minutes to be seated.“
“I recently found this place and absolutely love it! I’ve been eating hot pot across different states, and this spot has quickly become one of my favorites. One thing to note, though, is that the chili powder doesn’t quite taste like the Sichuan powder I’m accustomed to, but it’s still “
“Food is amazing! We had the Yunnan Potato Pancake but it's really taro. Also hear classic chicken and broccoli, LaLa beef, sweet sticky rice ball. Service was OK decent. Waiter was helpful in recommending dishes to us, but not the warmest. The restaurant was full, the waiters didn't rush us out. Environment and safety distance - Ambience is great. Spacious in between tables. It was full but didn't feel rushed. Noise level was good. You can hear other people's cheeriness but also able to have a private conversation.“
“I have been to DLY several times this past year and it is one of my favorite mala hotpot places. It is a newer spot and I like it's small, nicely decorated atmosphere. The first time I went I was shocked by how spicy the medium spice mala broth is (in a good way)! They do tell you it is spicy and it makes me sad to see people give lower reviews only because the broth was spicy because that's what szechuan/chongqing broth is! Theirs is especially spicy though even compared to medium at other places in Boston.I only get the spicy mala broth here. One thing I like is that after 10 they give 20% off discount! Prices are still comparable to other premium hotpot places but the late hours and discount sets it apart from other places.I love their knife cut noodles and it's only $1.99 per order. Other ingredients I have gotten are the beef plate and boneless short rib, bok choy, tofu skin, tofu puff, and enoki mushrooms. They also have other specialty dishes like milky beef, beef tripe, etc. Although it is not my favorite spot of all time in Boston, I think the late night hours and late night discount make it better than other places in some ways. The service here is quick and everyone is friendly and attentive to all your needs. Highly recommend this spot but definitely don't get the spicy broth if you don't like extremely numbing spice.“
“When I was a young teen 2 decades ago, living on allowances, this was the spot I hit up. I think at the time the combo was like $2.50 or something and I’ve never seen a line there. I use to go strictly for curry chicken with white rice. It was never the best curry, but it hits the spot on a tight budget. Today, I had an urge to pick up some pork bao to eat omw home, so I stoped by Chinatown to hit up bao bao bakery. At the corner of my eyes, I peeped Ding Ho and nostalgia rushed into my bones. As I approach the dinged up spot waiting in line outside the restaurant, I can’t help but wonder how much more expensive would it be now versus 20 years ago, considering inflation. My goodness… $6 for 2 side combo. WHAAAT? 2024. And it’s $6. I ended up with two sides of protein, 3 spring rolls and 1 Peking ravioli…. THATS $9.50. Hands down the best place to go in this economy. I don’t even care about the flavor. I got seasoning at home that can fix it up.(I ate a spring roll omw home)“
“We all thoroughly enjoyed our Hot Pot Buffet. Great value for high quality ingredients that were very fresh. We tried several choices not typically found at other restaurants. Our fantastic wait staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and highly efficient. We recommend Fairy Cafe and will definitely be back.“
“I recently had the pleasure of dining at Happy Lamp Hot Pot, located in the vibrant heart of Central Square, and what an experience it was! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere promised a fun and engaging dining experience, and it certainly delivered. The hot pot itself was absolutely delicious. The broth was rich and flavorful, creating the perfect base for all the fresh and high-quality ingredients we could choose from. Whether you're a meat lover, seafood enthusiast, or vegetarian, there's something for everyone, and the adventure of cooking your food right at your table adds an exciting twist to the meal. What stood out to me, apart from the delectable food, was the sheer fun of the experience. Happy Lamp Hot Pot is the ideal spot for a group of friends or family looking to enjoy not just a meal, but a truly social and interactive dining experience. The staff was friendly and helpful, guiding us through the menu and making recommendations that enhanced our meal. The Central Square location is perfect for anyone looking to dive into the local culture and enjoy a lively dining scene. It’s easy to get to, and once you’re there, you’re in for a treat“
“This is such a wonderful addition to the halal food scene in Boston! This restaurant is tucked away, in a small Asian food court, and is a hidden gem! The food portions are large, and each entree is fresh and packed with a bunch of flavor (and “spicy” is actually spicy here, haha). We ordered the Spicy Beef Noodles, Samsa, and Chicken entrees and they were wonderful! We will definitely be coming back soon!!!“
“Ordered the dry hot pot and garlic bok choy. Both were very good and service was good excellent. Mala hot pot could’ve been spicier, but they have chili oil on the side if you’d like to up the spice. Added pulled noodles and they were the perfect texture. Would come back for sure.“
“The food there is always so delicious and the staff there are always so polite!!! The friendly man (not sure if he is the owner) took good care of us by providing us plastic aprons in case we stained our shirts, gave me another spoon without me having to ask, and overall provided great service. Food + service was a 10/10! My fav place to go now!!!“
“I recently dined at this Chinese restaurant that left a delightful impression. The diverse menu offered many different flavorful dishes.. The attentive service and inviting environment added to the overall enjoyable dining experience. I highly recommend trying their signature dishes for a taste of authentic Chinese cuisine.Vegetarian options: Pretty good amount of options for those who are vegetarian!“
“Best Chinese food ever! I ordered chicken and broccoli, amazing! Also ordered orange chicken (medium heat) another amazing dish! Tender chicken, but not greasy. I ordered and paid online directly through their website and picked up myself. Order was ready on time, staff friendly and accommodating. 5 “
“Silk Road has become our family's go-to spot whenever we're craving something special. We've lost count of the number of times we've dined here, but every visit feels like a new adventure. We have tried almost everything on the menu and it never disappoints. And guess what? Our kids are totally into it too! Sure, some dishes can pack a bit of heat, but just give the server a heads up.The place is limited in space and they do not take reservations so sometimes it feels like a bit of a squeeze. But hey, that's part of the charm, right? Just be prepared for a bit of a tight squeeze, especially if you're rolling in with a big crew.Overall, Silk Road gets a big thumbs up from us. Whether you're a die-hard fan of Uyghur food or just looking for a fun family outing, this place won't disappoint.“
“Possibly the best hotpot place in the boston area. I’ve been to many and each offer a unique style and value. Shabu Zen is all all around win with excellent quality, great value, many choices and a wide appeal where anyone can find something they will like.“
“Truly a hidden gem at the edge of Chinatown. Incredibly flavorful claypot rice that easily beat many street vendors in Asia. The selection is wide, treatment is simple, homemade. The place is small, so expect to be crowded when busy. Owner/waiter very friendly and welcoming, and attentive. I highly recommend this to locals and visitors alike. I certainly will have many more visits to sample many other interesting items on the menu.“
“Drove 45min to try Ding’s Kitchen and it didn’t disappoint. Ordered Peking duck, salt and pepper Dungeness crab, stir fried lobster with glutenous fried rice, salt and pepper calamari, and dim sum. Decided to order a couple more entrees to go for dinner tonight. That’s how good it is! Very authentic and flavorful. Will definitely be back!“
“This was my first visit to any Happy Lamb location. The meat selection and fish/veggie selection, I thought were pretty decent/sizable. I wasn’t a big fan of their spicy broth, not because of the spice level (yum) but because the broth had a granular texture which wasn’t pleasant. I was disappointed with their sauce station, it was incredibly limited as compared to other AYCE hot pot spots. The service and price of the meal overall was pretty decent.“
“One of the best Sichuan restaurants in town!!! Although it’s hard to find parking around the area. It’s my go-to place if hungry for some authentic Chinese food. The flavor is rich and on-point, their BBQ is another must-try from the menu. Highly recommended!“
“Came in half hour before closing and they were nice enough to still seat us. Inside is very modern, clean and spacious. There is a bar code at the corner of the table, you scan for the menu, order and pay right on your phone when you're done. The owner was very friendly and kind. We ordered the beef noodles soup, Taiwanese fried chicken (flavorful and not too greasy like some others), braised pork over rice (very large order and the braised pork was very tender and good amount of sauce), and the lamb skewers. Everything was delicious and decent sharing portions so you can order a bunch of things to try. There are a lot of items we still want to try so we will be back soon.“
“I can’t thank you guys enough for their fantastic service. They went out of their way to accommodate our requests and made us feel like VIPs. This place exceeded my expectations with its creative and flavorful vegan dishes. We’ll be back!!!“
“The best place for hot pot in Boston! So many choices to pick from and a sauce bar that you can mix your own or use the ones they have. They have the best broth out of any place I’ve tried and the wait staff is super kind and helpful if you have any questions! Always a good go to on a dreary “
“The best dumplings I’ve ever had. My friend and I ordered seafood dumplings and we enjoyed it. We also had pork soup dumplings which was quite decent too. I recommend trying Dumpling House for the best food options if you’re in Cambridge area.“
“This place doesn't give you a table until your whole party arrives. I know this place is busy so I got here at 430pm before the dinner rush. While I was waiting for my party to come, the host offered me the free chips and other free snacks at the front counter. I think I saw hair ties too lol. When my whole party arrived, the server explained everything and how to order since it was our first time here. All the staff was very nice. The food was fresh. My favorite is probably the fish ball with the roe inside.“
“We ordered the beef dry wok and the spicy beef pot, both food were extremely tasty. The Mala Wok here is much better than the ones from Mala Restaurant right across the street, the portion is a bit smaller than Mala Restaurant, but flavor wise, was much better. The beef pot was also great, though not as good as Kung Fu Mala which is also across the street. I speak Cantonese and so do the staffs there, and they were extremely friendly and nice. Definitely should check this place out, extremely underappreciated, will definitely come back to try other items on their menu. 10/10“
“Soups here are very good and flavorful. The service is quick (implied by the name 10 second delivery) because the prep is done in advance. If you get takeout, expect noodles and most toppings to be packaged separately as trays to one container. Parking can be found on the side road. It's located behind Wollaston station.“
“I have never had a bad experience in all the times I've been here. The staff are nice and the food is excellent! My favorites are the roti, fried pearl noodle, ginger duck noodle soup, basil fried rice, pineapple fried rice, and curry fish fillet pot.“
“Quick service! Friendly staff! Inside was decently spacious and had dimmer lighting. Got the beef noodle soup and the noodles were nice, soup not too spicy, the beef was very thinly sliced and tender, also had lots of daikon that soaked up all the flavor. Solid bowl of noodle soup“
“Pleasantly surprised! We came here on a Saturday for lunch and ordered plenty of dishes which we all enjoyed. We tried the string beans, spicy fish filets, Shanghai noodles, fried rice and smoked duck. The Shanghai noodles were more of a crispy chow mein than the thicker noodle I was expecting, but it was still yummy! Service was nice and attentive as well. Unassuming on the outside, but great taste and big portions.“
“We decided to try this cafe. Very small but the food is delicious. Ordered the rice rolls with liver (for you who like liver, it was yummy!) but they certainly had loads of choices of fillings. The Chow Fun (we had chicken instead of beef) had plenty of bean sprouts as it should be. Yummy homemade wanton soup warmed us as it was a rainy day and our last dish was the pork rib in bean sauce clay pot. Everything looked so tasty we cleaned off the first dishes before I remembered to take photos which are here! Lol“
“I love dining at this place! Despite its small size, the food is absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. Every time I visit, I feel an irresistible urge to come back again. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience!“
“Hold onto your taste buds, folks, because Omoto Garden isn’t just serving food; they’re dishing out an express ticket to a flavor fiesta! I ordered takeout, and let me tell you, it was like unboxing a treasure chest filled with culinary gems.First off, their sushi rolls - they must have a wizard in the kitchen because these rolls were magically delicious. Each piece was a perfect balance of rice, fish, and a secret ‘yum’ factor. And the presentation? Even in a takeout box, it looked like a masterpiece. The teriyaki chicken must have been marinated by angels. It was so tender and flavorful that I’m pretty sure my taste buds started a conga line. And the sauce - oh, the sauce! It deserves its own fan club.Don’t even get me started on the tempura. It was so crispy and light; I half expected it to float off my plate. It’s like they found a way to deep fry happiness. And the speed of delivery? I think their delivery person is part superhero, part ninja. The food arrived so fast and hot, I wondered if they teleported it to my doorstep. In conclusion, Omoto Garden’s takeout is a symphony of flavors that turns your living room into a five-star dining experience. If deliciousness was a sport, they’d be the reigning champions!“
“According to Liam, the employee to whom I spoke, this restaurant has a new name and owner as of September 2022. The storefront says Liaoxiang Rice Noodle. The name on the receipt reads Luckycafe, one word. The picture menu says Potluck Cafe. Food and prices are good. I got the steamed fish with black bean sauce for $7 and a plate of white rice for $2. I like the hot chili pepper sauce on the table.“
“Easily the best and most authentic Chinese food in the area, or even broadly Massachusetts. Excellent high quality food at a price that is more than fair. Delicious, flavorful, always on time, with great staff who obviously care about their craft. I cannot recommend them enough.“
“Kao Jiu is a very beautifully designed Chinese restaurant. The interior is decorated very traditionally Chinese, with dark, lacquered wood, red lanterns, and Chinese art all around. Their menus come in the form of scrolls, which I thought was very cute and creative.I came here for the lunch special though, that's available Mon-Fri 12-4pm. The place was empty - only us in the restaurant, so service was quite fast. The lunch special came in a square wooden box with an appetizer, a choice for protein, a choice of veggies and a staple food. I came with a friend, so I was able to try 2 of everything. :) And despite initially thinking it wouldn't be filling, it actually was.The chicken kebab was the fan favorite. It was soft and moist, and had amazing seasoning. The beef kebab was a lil hard to chew with all the fat. The potato chips were my second favorite, as they were thinly sliced, very crisp and nicely seasoned. The fried tofu, oyster mushrooms, and the egg fried rice were all pretty good as well. The only thing that was slightly lacking was the lamb burger, as it did not have much meat inside and lacked a bit of flavor.“
“Really, really good American Chinese food. Great value, huge portions of delicious classics. If you're craving American Chinese food Jasmine Cuisine will really hit the spot.Service is excellent, everyone is kind and welcoming. I came to pick-up holding my toddler in the rain, and the lady behind the counter offered to take my bag to the car for me (which I politely declined but very much appreciated the offer). My kid also has a bad tree nut allergy, and I feel like ordering from certain Chinese places can be dicey. I let Jasmine Cuisine know when I was ordering and my kid had zero reaction/sensitivity, even though his worse allergies are to cashews and walnuts which are often featured in American Chinese and I presume in certain dishes on their menu. Gives me great peace of mind that they took my request seriously.“
“Love this place so much--they're so good that my dad drove 2 hours out of state just so that visiting would overlap with getting takeout from here again. They have such a wide range and it's so, so good. We got the: 酸菜牛肉 - Sliced Beef & Pickled Cabbage and Chili and I can't stop thinking about it. I also usually get basically anything off the Szechuan Spicy Style section of the menu and I'm happy (especially the Sliced Chicken and Cabbage with Hot Chili Sauce). The dumplings are also very good, and hefty-- the meat feels wonderfully flavorful. Great place, love it a lot, figured I should leave a loving review.“
“Fresh and Fantastic! I stop here whenever I am in the area. Mostly takeout but there are a few tables , the staff at the counter is so nice what a great group of people! The food is fresh and so tasty, The takeout packaging was great plastic with lids not the old foam style which leak . The hot and sour soup is great and thanks to everyone there!“
“Food: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Service: 4/5 Food at price point: 5/5 The server was almost too personable. I do not like to have a conversation on the average day. And the neighboring table was the worst group of women maybe in the entire world. Out of the restaurants control so it's fine. You must get the dole whip drink!!!!“
“Great place in Chinatown to dine with a group. They offer all you can eat hot pot with lots of meat, veggie and seafood options at a great price. They give you plenty of food and keep it coming if you request more. It’s a bit rundown inside but the food is good and the service is great.“
“I know y'all go for the chicken, which I have yet to try myself, but y'all. Y'all. You have to try their drinks! These are also made fresh to order and MORE than worth the wait!!!I checked this place out for the first time partly because my buddy has been here plenty of times and he vouched for it, yet he's never tried the drinks! I wanted an authentic milk tea, or just some kind of nice refreshing beverage from a local spot, you know? Well, I got what I came for, okay?!!I started out with the Fresh Black Grape Tea, which was definitely fresh and made right in front of me, and definitely grapey. I found it having a good amount of sweetness, and it's just an awesome drink to get. Simple as that. There are grape bits at the bottom, so if you aren't too keen on that type of texturized experience or potentially getting something stuck on your teeth in the middle of your hot date, you may want to refrain from ordering this one. Otherwise, ball out!The next jawns I got were the Strawberry Milk Tea and the Passionfruit Slush, because I couldn't just stop at one.The Passionfruit Slush was super different than what I expected. I'm unsure of if it was just how it was made when I went, but there was very little to almost zero sweetness to it. They also must have put milk in there. I didn't watch them make it, but that's kind of what it looked and tasted like. I would actually order this again. It was smooth and so... different! Lol~The Strawberry Milk Tea was my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE. It looks exactly how I wanted it to look like, and it tasted even better!!! The whole thing was just FANTASTIC. It tasted CUTE! That's the only best way that I can put it. It is quite literally what it is called. Strawberry Milk Tea. It's light, refreshing and the flavor/sweetness I found to be right in between the black grape tea and the passionfruit slush. Just. Right. All in all, I obviously had a spectacular experience here and service was cool. I will be back for that strawberry milk tea specifically. Thank you.“
“Got the Szechuan Orange Beef lunch special and it came with pork fried rice, broccoli, and one appetizer. I chose crab rangoon. Everything was delicious and I had enough to bring home for a second lunch tomorrow.Very nice atmosphere, reasonably priced, immaculate restaurant, lovely music playing, and friendly service. I had a seat near the window and could watch passers-by on a sunny Saturday afternoon.First time I've been here and I will definitely be back again.“
