“Every meal is an absolute delicious delight, and there is always a great conversation at the bar with other great people who also enjoy Nuno's amazing food and drink! I probably go at least once a week and I am always beyond satisfied and leaving hungry is not an option. Chances are you will take food to go. It is a perfect spot for date night, business meetings and more as well. They have keno and scratchies too for entertainment and lost wages (lol). The bartenders / waitstaff are top notch from Brian, Stacey, Kristina, Melissa and others. Highly recommended!“

Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. We got the cod dish to split. We could have split the half. Such garlicky goodness. We live in Portsmout and will go again. The picture I posted is half.“

“(Note: I write these reviews in part for my own nationwide business clients, for travel and activity inspiration! I’m a financial planner - CFP®️practitioner - with a focus on retirement wealth strategies, primarily serving business women and LGBTQ individuals. #VirtualPlanningCraftedWithCare®️)This restaurant is a family favorite, where you’ll find authentic Portuguese cuisine and excellent service.Located a short drive from the historic Fort Taber Park. Lots of parking and includes a ramp at the entrance for anyone with extra mobility needs. Inside the layout is also accommodating to anyone needing some extra space. You can’t go wrong with the food. It’s fresh every time we’ve been here. I’m going to recommend seafood if you’re new to Portuguese cuisine. I personally always order the grilled octopus. It’s the best I’ve had!Prices are inline with other establishments of this caliber. It’s always clean and I know there’s entertainment on the outdoor balcony over the summer.I would imagine they are LGBTQ friendly. I had no reason to think otherwise. Definitely friendly for couples and seniors. Kids will do fine here, but it’s more for adults. If you’re ever in New Bedford, I highly recommend eating here then going for a walk down the street at Fort Taber. It’s a gorgeous part of the city.Dietary restrictions: I’m gluten free due to Celiac and I did just fine here. Just don’t expect GF bread options. There’s plenty of other carbs to choose from.“

“A hidden gem located at 1528 Acushnet Avenue in New Bedford, Cafe Mimo Restaurant is an excellent dining experience that is regarded by many locals as the best restaurant for Portuguese food in the city. My wife and I are open to trying new dishes and we have been enjoying many unique Portuguese delicacies that are promoted online daily and compliment their traditional menu choices. We both love seafood and for an appetizer we generally choose between Littlenecks with Garlic Sauce or Spanish Style, both are delicious! I have my go-to choices for an entree that I will mention first. Seafood Linguine, Seafood Mozambique, Baked Stuffed Salmon & Baked Seafood Platter are each delicious and will satisfy my urge for a seafood dish. Each dish is made-to-order and if you would enjoy an adult beverage while you wait, they have draft beer, bottled beer, wine & excellent cocktails that are all reasonably priced. I enjoy their Sangrias that add a generous scoop of diced fruit & your choice of Sumol Sparkling Juice. Regarding the Baked Stuffed Salmon, ask for a side order of their Creamy Mozambique Sauce for an upcharge. You will not regret it. I dip the salmon & vegetables in a cup of this sauce and I love it. You can order Chicken or Shrimp Mozambique dishes with the regular or creamy Mozambique Sauce and you will crave that sauce until your next visit. Cafe Mimo Restaurant features daily specials and authentic Portuguese limited or seasonal food items are featured. Their excellent & friendly staff will provide you with answers to any questions that you may have about that, should you decide to explore food offerings that you haven't experienced before. I enjoyed every one. My favorites included Lapas ( Mediterranean mollusks ), Portuguese Goat Stew, Portuguese Tripe & Bean Stew, & they featured dry rubbed Grilled Ribs that were the best ribs that I have had in the area. We have become "regulars" at Cafe Mimo Restaurant on our mission to explore new dining experiences, and my wife and I are grateful that we did. They have off street parking behind the restaurant, but you do not have to feed the meters after 6:00 if you see an open space. I am certain that I will continue reporting on their other fine food choices in the future.“

“All I can say is wow! The food was authentic, delicious and hands down the best Portuguese food in the area. Better than Alianca! We got the tips azorean style and the cacoila and for an app we got the Mozambique calamari that was on special. The calamari was so good I got no pics!! They were small rings and tentacles but delicious!!! Our server was friendly ,informative and was very good at explaining everything for our first time, offering diff items, asking questions. What a great lunch! This was our first time and we will be back, often! Thank you! If you haven’t tried here, you absolutely must!!! We were informed to call ahead for reservations during the weekend, I can see why!!! This place sits about 60 or so people with an open concept and bar as well, music on in the background and tasteful decor! You won’t be disappointed.
