“1st time here. Have driven by hundreds of times......not sure what I was thinking....it took figuring out that you can't get Alaskan King crab legs at Legal Seafoods to force me to try this place out. Took an order to go. A+ yes messy....very messy the middle Hot sauce was excellent and everywhere. Good fun. Shared as an appetizer and we all agree Good stuff. They have "All you can Eat" on Sat and Sun I believe for $30 so a great deal. We will try again. Tiny place maybe 10-12 tables so use OpenTable. I tried Boston they did not have anything for 3-4 days at 7pm. Also had a Brookline reservation. There are ~24 locations in 8-10 states.”
“I love everthing about this incredible gem in the heart of Newton Center.”
“Fantastic food, service and atmosphere! A must try for dinner in the Boston area 🙂”

“Based on the gluten-free reviews, we were expecting a lot more from this place, but it was just average. Prices are on the high side, but maybe that's expected from the area.”

“Frank Pepe's is my favorite local pizza restaurant. Their New Haven style pizza is a thin crispy crust with minimal toppings that's cooked in a coal oven.
It comes out hot and steaming and delicious.
Their tomato pie (only available in season) and their clam pie are unique classics.
My favorite is their pepperoni and cherry tomatoes. The pepperoni comes out crispy and lightly burnt and it's perfectly complemented by the spicy peppers.
It's great for kids and families, and it's a unique place for dates!”
“The Dooliner has a wonderful neighborhood atmosphere, great food and friendly service. Highly recommended!”
“We stopped in on the way home from the airport, and it was amazing! From the moment we walked in the door, we felt welcomed. The atmosphere and food were awesome. I highly recommend the Mickey’s Chicken special and the red sangria which was a deep dark red- as sangria should be. Yum! My children loved our Irish waitress who Made them laugh and feel special. This restaurant is over an hour from where we live, but there is no doubt we will travel back often. Wonderful experience!”

“Found this place by chance while searching for a place for quick dinner in the area. Food was surprisingly authentic sichuan and thoroughly enjoyed all dishes we tried.
-Chengdu dry chicken with red chilies $21.95 delicious flavor with mild mala numbing spices, but breaded chicken pieces seem overly deep fried.
-Stir fried chicken with black bean sauce, green bell pepper and onion $18.95 even onions had full flavor and tasty. Chicken was little salty though.
-Beef Chow Fan $18.95 best smokey flavor I've tasted in years
-hot and sour soup $4.95 with all the right ingredients it was still flavorless but salty.
Place was clean with decent table settings, fast service. Decent size parking available.”
“Love the food but their delivery is getting worse and worse. If you order before 5 p.m. it is nice if it can be delivered by 6:30 pm (especially if that is the window they promised). Did all we can to keep this place open during the pandemic but may need to start looking elsewhere for our family's sushi fix. VERY disappointed about their service.”
“I would like to express my gratitude to Blue Salt staff (with special thanks going to Igor) who made our special occasion so memorable! I needed to organize a nice dinner for 15 people for my son's birthday. The whole process was absolutely flawless - from initial contact with Igor who took care of all the planning and setup. When we arrived to the restaurant everything was ready and we were treated with utmost attention. The dinner was served family style and we had a chance to pick our menu selections to be shared. The portions were very generous, beautifully decorated and served, service was impeccable. The food was absolutely amazing! Everyone was beyond satisfied and happy. Thank you, thank you, thank you Igor and Blue Salt team! You made our event very special and unforgettable!”
“I saw Jayson Tatum here yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like five orders of crab rangoons in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bags and keyed in quantity x5, he stopped her and told her to enter each line individually “to prevent any math tricks,” and then turned around and winked at me. If he was making a joke, I guess I didn't get it. After she keyed in each individual order of rangoons and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.”
“Wonderful restaurant and bar located in a lovely suburban setting. When you arrive, you are always greeted with a smile and it feels like home. The atmosphere and the food are top notch and you always feel better after having gone there!”

Takeout Restaurants
“Great food and service. Bierra tacos were great- we drank the au-jus straight as it had nice cinnamon overtones. Guacamole was perfect with the chips light and fluffy. The 3 tacos- were the traditional small one: the pastor had small amounts of pineapple - very traditional; steak (carne asada) was cooked perfectly as little strips and the carnitas has tons of flavor. The trea-leche was a hit with it's nice flavora. The margherita was flavorful and well balanced. The service was amazing- they gave us special hot sauce, not on the menu, when we asked for habanero sauce (they didn't have). Will go again- need to taste everything on the menu!”

“Great, authentic restaurant with an UNBELIEVABLY large menu selection. Ordered several items from different cuisine and everything is satisfactory. I particularly liked 红油抄手(dumpling in chili pepper oil?), but I'd say give everything a try. Dine-in seating is a bit cramped but tolerable.”

“Best sushi I’ve had! Friendly staff; amazing food- lots of choice, interesting combinations, fresh, gluten free friendly (they make their own soy sauce even!); casual vibe; beautiful space.”

“This food is the best in the world authentic you have to try the popcorn chicken spicy wonton Thai iced tea with Boba. Everything is so amazing grandmother. The best staff are amazing. If you did not try this place, you need to hurry up and go try and I drove one hour away just to get there and I’ll drive it all the time. Thank you guys. I appreciate it. I love your food so much 10/10”
“Super Dough Pizza Co catered our wedding and it was phenomenal! Ian was so helpful and a great communicator leading up to the event, service was excellent, and everyone raved about the food. I also want to especially shout out Ian for making our dairy free guests feel extra welcome with their own dairy free pizza and extra entree. Couldn't recommend more!”
“Sushi Man is a restaurant with a long history in the Newton area, first being located in a smaller area right off of Route 9 before moving to their current location a few years ago.
The staff are really friendly and make the food quite quickly, reminds me of the service we used to get in the past.
The food was of good quality and how I remember it. It does tend to be on the expensive side for these meals, but was still pretty good and tasted well. The sushi was fresh, with good rice to fish ratio and presented well. The udon had a good broth that went well with the noodles, and had some toppings and sides that were crisp and tasty.”
“Very cute! It’s more of a decor store with coffee (illy coffee specifically + tea) served. There’s some small snacks available. I got the brown butter toffee late with oatmilk it was more tart from the tide but very tasty! No places to sit but the Waban hill reservoir across the street where you can walk around.
Parking: Small lot around the corner but plenty of street parking.”
“Blown away by our cake! In one email Andrea completely captured my husband’s vibe and sent me a sketch with an idea that was far better than I imagined. The end product literally stole the show! The cake was also delicious - moist and flavorful. If you want a masterpiece that reflects the personality of the person or event you are celebrating, text, call or email Andrea NOW. She is amazing.”
“This is a great take out spot, and the prices CANNOT be beaten ! Consistent, delicious, and cheap-what more could you want from a Viet place? Maybe better parking, but not a far walk/stroll from the municipal lot. Did I mention fast? They ONLY do take out, so find a nice picnic spot or bring it home. Bahn Mi holds up for a long drive”
“never had a bad bite here. Their ramen is killer. Tiny place, but worth waiting for a table!”

“Phenomenal. I have been dairy free since February and have missed a good cupcake. I went in today and got a bunch of different things to bring back home to the family. Everybody loved everything. The frosted brownies were hands down our favorite and the best we have had. I found the prices to be very reasonable and the staff to be welcoming and friendly. Will be back!”
“Country Desserts Bake Shop on Lexington Street in Newton is a true hidden gem for anyone craving fresh, homemade-style baked goods. Two years ago, Igor Quintero, who had been working with Nancy, the prior owner, bought the bakery. He kept Nancy's wonderful offerings while adding many of his own. Walking through its doors, you're met with beautifully stocked cases brimming with an irresistible selection of treats, each one crafted with fresh, high-quality ingredients and free from preservatives--just like homemade desserts should be.
With so many delicious options, it's hard to know where to start. Their chocolate chip, oatmeal, and Italian wedding cookies, available in three flavors, are simply fantastic. The turnovers are exceptional, featuring perfectly flaky crusts filled with delectable fruit fillings, including adorable miniature raspberry versions. Their selection of pies is just as impressive, with highlights like their tangy key lime pie and irresistible lemon squares for citrus lovers.
Muffins here are moist and flavorful, but if you have a favorite variety, you'll want to call ahead or arrive early, as they tend to sell out fast. Each holiday brings special seasonal treats, and placing an order ensures you won't miss out. Today, I spotted Easter bread made the old-fashioned way, sparking nostalgia in my friend, who fondly recalled the way his mother used to bake it during his childhood.
Whether you're indulging in a personal treat or ordering a custom cake for a special occasion, Country Desserts Bake Shop's dedication to quality and deliciousness shines through. The only small downside is their limited hours--they're open until 2 PM during the week, 1 PM on Saturdays, and closed on Sundays. However, early birds can rejoice, as doors open at 6:30 AM.
If you're in the area, this bake shop is an absolute must-visit.”
“So I noticed that Newton has a restaurant called Coconut Cafe, and I thought it would be funny to get a picture of a Lime Bike inside the front door, because “you put the Lime in the Coconut” and all that, so I went over there today, and the place turns out to be pretty nice and I was already feeling like this wouldn’t be a particularly polite (or funny) joke, but anyway the closest Lime Bike I could find was about a block away, and when I tried picking it up to bring it over to Coconut Cafe to maybe get a “put the lime *by* the coconut” photo instead, the bike started talking to me, saying “PLEASE PAY ME A DOLLAR AND YOU CAN RIDE ME! PLEASE PUT ME DOWN OR I WILL CALL THE POLICE! THIS IS YOUR SECOND WARNING, I AM ABOUT TO CALL THE POLICE.” and I decided that this stupid joke wasn’t worth getting arrested for and at that point I was too annoyed to pay the dollar to unlock the bike to ride it a grand total of about 30 feet for a joke photo that the owner of the shop would justifiably get mad at me for anyway, so I left the bike there and just had lunch instead (Bangkok-style veggie pad thai, they told me it would take 15 minutes but then it was ready in about 1.5 minutes, so that was nice) and it was delicious. Thank you for reading my story have a nice day.”
“Great selection of yummy ice creams! The prices were pretty good and they had options other than ice cream too. The interior is super cute, but the seats up in the front window are a little dingy. Overall we loved our visit!
Parking: There’s a paid parking lot right next to it, but the parking meter didn’t work. We parked without paying but nothing bad happened on a weekend day.”
“After driving to two places that were either closed or stopped making food, my bf and I went to this place we always passed in the area but never went to. Decided to give a chance. Got soup and two chicken pitas. So good and I mean so good. I’m particular on my chicken gyro and I rarely eat the whole thing. But this time I did. They’re not the size of your leg like some places do but it’s a reasonable portion. Leaves room to eat the delicious lemon chicken soup. I am totally getting it on my day off this week. And the service was pretty quick.”
“Such a quantity of bread crumbs in meatballs that they were inedible. Server did not give prices of specials. Bread basket so delicious! Live music a bonus. Parking can be difficult”
“The chili is amazing. I can’t ever make it home without digging in on the way. Getting soup and chicken from the same place is genius, a full meal that tastes like it came from your own kitchen.”
“Local live music on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Great staff, fantastic food, creative drinks, nice beer selection.”
“The people are amazingly helpful. The food was so good. We had ordered a delivery from Grubhub but love to go in person.”

“Hands down, cheapest, highest quality stuff you'll find in the Watertown area, The owner Yoshi is so nice, he literally just handed me an extra piece of fish he was working on one night. Not sure if I came in at the end of the day, or because I spent X amount, but he straight up just gifted me this chunk of Tuna. Amazing owners, I will continue going back as long as I live in Boston.”
