“I went for dinner last night with my friends and it was a nice cozy place, the food was good, when we asked to make it spicy they were able to do that, the drinks were good, they can improve a little bit on their service, but we had a good time hanging out, so can’t ”

“A taste of Paris located inside the heart of Newton. Not bad! The lamination on the croissants were amazing, and not greasy or overly heavy as some tend to be. The variety of treats is overwhelming (in a good way!) but nonetheless a great spot to go to. Just a little crowded at busy times.”

Distraction Brewing Co. 2 Belgrade Ave, Roslindale Brewery • $$

“The Tall Man and I were looking for a low key hangout with baby in tow, and Distraction Brewing was the perfect place. This new-to-us brewery on the cute pedestrian-only Birch St. had an outdoor patio but we opted for seats inside. It's not a big place, but it has a good number of tables and bench seating in a brightly lit space. The Tall Man got the autumn flight of 4 beers (one being one of their maltinis), which he enjoyed for their variety. I wasn't up for imbibing so I got a Health-Aid kombucha from the fridge. (They also carry Athlete's nonalcoholic beer in cans.) They have some packaged snacks for purchase, but they encourage people to get food from local businesses to eat there. It was pretty darn convenient to pick up lunch from nearby Chilacates. It made for a very chill lunch and sip. We weren't even the only ones with a stroller! It was a relief to find a brewery that's not utterly mobbed and where we could bring the little one. I would definitely come back for another relaxing hangout.”

“Came as a group of nine on a Thursday evening with a reservation for 8:30pm. We sat at a long high-top table and ended up ordering as groups of four and five people to make splitting food easier. My group of four split a charcuterie board and two pizzas, the Salsiccia and Margherita. I personally don't eat a lot of cheese outside of pizza so I only ate the pizzas, meats, and the complimentary bread. I preferred the Margherita pizza, but both had great texture and flavors. We ended up getting a refill on our bread at some point as well. They have a large drink selection, and I opted for the Sippin' Easy non-alcoholic drink. It was super tasty and I would've happily ordered a second. Our server was friendly and patient as our group of nine was all over the place with deciding what we wanted.I personally wouldn't choose to come back just because I'm not a huge charcuterie person, but I'll say this is a good spot for hanging out with friends or family, or even for date night.”

They said it was a local restaurant, so even though we went right at the 9 o'clock opening time, there was a wait quickly.I was alone, so I sat right at the bar.I highly recommend it to others!A place where nothing is missing!!I felt like tips were something to give in places like this.I am a tourist, and I think Luna Cafe will be my impression of Boston!! ^^”

“First time at Tonino. Chitarra (spaghetti variation) with clams was tasty, with a generous portion of clams. Eggplant ricotta pizza was also good. Pizza bianca was similar to focaccia -- basically bread -- with dips, not toppings. Caponata dip was fine. Trevisano (radicchio) salad was skimpy with an unremarkable dressing. We didn't try desserts. The small space is attractive but crowded, with tables cheek by jowl. Long wait for the pasta and pizza.”

Our only complaint is that the restaurant opened its doors to a long line of walk-ins whom they seated first ahead of people (like us) with reservations. We had a 5:30 reservation and arrived early. The hostess apologized while seating us that there weren't any menus left to give us when we were seated. Then, after our waitress enticed us to order one of the sfizi specials, she came back to tell us that they were already sold out because the walk-ins at the bar had grabbed them all up. Wouldn't it make sense to seat those with reservations first?”
