“I love everthing about this incredible gem in the heart of Newton Center.”
“The quality of the food, the promptness and kindness of service, and how nice husband, wife and grandma are in welcoming guests, is definitely worth becoming a regular. Chapeau!”
“Pizza dough is the best I've had so far. Food was great and portion is large. Love love love. Trust the server on the pizza recommendations, it was amazing. I forgot the name, but it has squash and pancetta and some hot honey.”

“Fantastic food, service and atmosphere! A must try for dinner in the Boston area 🙂”
“Food was very well prepared and the food runners delivered it quickly. The waiter himself was a bit slow to visit but quick to run off, once with my unfinished beer glass. Didn't even have enough time to tell him I was not finished. Forgot our bread. Asked if we wanted parm cheese then forgot to bring. The open view kitchen is great. Only thing that bothered me from atmosphere was the acoustics. Difficult to hear people talk at the table.”

“We stopped in on the way home from the airport, and it was amazing! From the moment we walked in the door, we felt welcomed. The atmosphere and food were awesome. I highly recommend the Mickey’s Chicken special and the red sangria which was a deep dark red- as sangria should be. Yum! My children loved our Irish waitress who Made them laugh and feel special. This restaurant is over an hour from where we live, but there is no doubt we will travel back often. Wonderful experience!”

“1st time here. Have driven by hundreds of times......not sure what I was thinking....it took figuring out that you can't get Alaskan King crab legs at Legal Seafoods to force me to try this place out. Took an order to go. A+ yes messy....very messy the middle Hot sauce was excellent and everywhere. Good fun. Shared as an appetizer and we all agree Good stuff. They have "All you can Eat" on Sat and Sun I believe for $30 so a great deal. We will try again. Tiny place maybe 10-12 tables so use OpenTable. I tried Boston they did not have anything for 3-4 days at 7pm. Also had a Brookline reservation. There are ~24 locations in 8-10 states.”
“Love the food but their delivery is getting worse and worse. If you order before 5 p.m. it is nice if it can be delivered by 6:30 pm (especially if that is the window they promised). Did all we can to keep this place open during the pandemic but may need to start looking elsewhere for our family's sushi fix. VERY disappointed about their service.”
“DELICIOUS FOOD. Very different food fair with choices for all diets. Excellent, friendly service. Good cocktails. I’ll be back !”

“Five enthusiastic stars! I would give more if I could! The burrito lives up to the hype, and I love that they offer it in various sizes to accommodate different appetites. The salsa is perfectly spicy. And the service is phenomenal! Family owned and run establishment. No wonder they’ve been around for years and maintain stellar reviews. I can’t wait to go back!”
“Staff were great at suggesting baked goods. We tried the egg deli roll, honey toast and the seasonal snowman. This was my first time here and I would definitely go out of my way to stop back in. The friendly service really makes me wish I could give this more than five stars.”
“Pressed Cafe on Needham St is one of the only places in Newton where you can get a hearty breakfast bowl or burrito around 6 AM. One major benefit I found is that they also have extensive gluten-free options!
They are well versed and responsive to allergy concerns, as this morning I asked if a particular item had gluten in it. The cashier then took the time to check the allergen booklet to see if there was any concern. There was not. I am very thankful for that cashier because they displayed a discipline and hard work when some Pain In The Butt Customer is asking about allergy concerns. I appreciate that!
They have a variety of foods, but I recommend any of the foods they have. They also cater to people who are Paleo eaters, with a few desserts or pastries that are Paleo friendly.
Personally, one of my favorites is their cold brew coffee with light coconut milk. It is a George Howell brand rocket fuel that is flavorful and even craved on a winter morning. There chia pudding is adorned with fresh cut fruit, jam, and peanut butter, giving it a variety of flavors. Their GF sandwiches and wraps are ample.
Pricewise, you may find comparable options if you can wait until 7 or 8 AM, but Pressed Cafe is hard to beat if you're an early bird and want consistent high quality foods. If you can't make it to the Newton area, make sure to check their website. They are located around the greater Boston area, too!”
“Wonderful restaurant and bar located in a lovely suburban setting. When you arrive, you are always greeted with a smile and it feels like home. The atmosphere and the food are top notch and you always feel better after having gone there!”
“Best sushi I’ve had! Friendly staff; amazing food- lots of choice, interesting combinations, fresh, gluten free friendly (they make their own soy sauce even!); casual vibe; beautiful space.”

Cheap Eats
“We come to Blackers almost every Sunday for muffins, scones, cupcakes, and/or rugelach. We have nut and dairy allergies in our family, so we love that we can feel 100% safe here. Today, I got their Maple Oat Scone snd it was delicious! We’ve also gotten a couple of beautifully decorated birthday cakes! The staff are always friendly and the quality of everything has been top-notch. Highly recommend!”
“Great selection of yummy ice creams! The prices were pretty good and they had options other than ice cream too. The interior is super cute, but the seats up in the front window are a little dingy. Overall we loved our visit!
Parking: There’s a paid parking lot right next to it, but the parking meter didn’t work. We parked without paying but nothing bad happened on a weekend day.”
“Wow! I cannot use enough superlatives to express how ridiculously delicious their baked goods are!
All ingredients are REAL, and their banana cream pie was perfection: real banan chunks, the best pudding-filling ever, and real whipped cream, with real dark chocolate shavings and a real crusts. Phenomenal!!!!
I also got a few treats for friends.
The bakery isn’t open late, so you do have to make a point to go, but it is worth it!!!
Two parking spots right out front.
Two stairs to enter.
There is a table or two to sit inside.
Wheelchair accessibility: Two stairs”
“This place is amazing! I love all the toppings that you could put on your yogurt. I really like cookie Monster watermelon swirl with cereal, butterscotch, and sour crawlers on top. I sometimes add flakes of coconut for extra fun. I really thought that the cashier named Thalia was so nice, friendly and welcoming. I think all the people complaining that they didn't have enough $ need to lighten up on the amount of yogurt they take. And not blame the owner for wanting to properly run a business.”
“Very cute! It’s more of a decor store with coffee (illy coffee specifically + tea) served. There’s some small snacks available. I got the brown butter toffee late with oatmilk it was more tart from the tide but very tasty! No places to sit but the Waban hill reservoir across the street where you can walk around.
Parking: Small lot around the corner but plenty of street parking.”
“I saw Jayson Tatum here yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything.
He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?”
I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like five orders of crab rangoons in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bags and keyed in quantity x5, he stopped her and told her to enter each line individually “to prevent any math tricks,” and then turned around and winked at me. If he was making a joke, I guess I didn't get it. After she keyed in each individual order of rangoons and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.”

“great pizza hot rolls and dipping oil. kid friendly excellent service”
“A gem! The owners were very friendly and attentive. The sushi was amazing! It was nice to just hang out at the sushi bar and enjoy a lovely dinner and share it with a friendly & thoughtful staff.”
“never had a bad bite here. Their ramen is killer. Tiny place, but worth waiting for a table!”
“Hi! I am the new owner here and it is now Cafe Martin West Street and we are open every day at 11am. So glad to here of the great reviews of late (we opened here Feb 2022) and sorry for some of the not as great ones - we do have an off night here and there. “Everything was wonderful from the draft beer and regional wine to our stuffed cabbage and grape leaves. Delish!”
“Loved it. Great patio. Asparagus taco appetizer is simply delish!!”

“I would like to express my gratitude to Blue Salt staff (with special thanks going to Igor) who made our special occasion so memorable! I needed to organize a nice dinner for 15 people for my son's birthday. The whole process was absolutely flawless - from initial contact with Igor who took care of all the planning and setup. When we arrived to the restaurant everything was ready and we were treated with utmost attention. The dinner was served family style and we had a chance to pick our menu selections to be shared. The portions were very generous, beautifully decorated and served, service was impeccable. The food was absolutely amazing! Everyone was beyond satisfied and happy. Thank you, thank you, thank you Igor and Blue Salt team! You made our event very special and unforgettable!”

“Hands down, cheapest, highest quality stuff you'll find in the Watertown area, The owner Yoshi is so nice, he literally just handed me an extra piece of fish he was working on one night. Not sure if I came in at the end of the day, or because I spent X amount, but he straight up just gifted me this chunk of Tuna. Amazing owners, I will continue going back as long as I live in Boston.”

“I recently brought some friends to MIDA Newton for the first time, and it was an unforgettable experience! Our server, Guillermo, was an absolute gem—friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic as he walked us through the menu, sharing his favorite dishes and highlighting the evening’s specials. We ordered two pizzas, the Caesar salad, arancini, burrata, and for dessert, the chocolate gelato and raspberry sorbet, and every bite was absolutely delicious. The warm, inviting atmosphere of the Newton location was perfect, and we loved the open view of the spotless kitchen, which the staff kept pristine even at the end of a busy night. Everyone we encountered was delightful, and we couldn’t stop raving about the food, service, and overall experience. We can’t wait to return!”
“Food is great. Got a slider, and the chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside while being tender on the inside. Since the food came out promptly, the slaw on the slider did not seep into the bun so it was not soggy at all. The fries are also great, whatever seasoning they put on really does a great job. The workers are super friendly. The facility is much cleaner than other restaurant chains I've been at. Overall 10/10 experience for me. Would recommend the place and food to other people.”
“For a party of four we have ordered the following as take out
1. Szechuan Kung Pao Chicken
2. Chinese Cabbage Fried Yuba
3. Hand Pulled Biang Biang Noodle W Spicy Cumin Beef
4. Popcorn Chicken
Two rice boxes came as sides
The seating is quite limited ah still we were able to go to the nearby concert park area and sit on a bench to share a meal. The food was delicious! You typically order via the kiosk and the food comes out at just the right temperature to warm you up even while eating outside on a moderately cold day.
The service was kind! The staff did try to find a spot for us - but we decided to eat outside so that we had a wider seating arrangement.
The food is made quickly and with care.
God bless you all!”
