“I have a very simple ask, and it's that a coffee place can make a good vanilla latte (you'd be surprised how many places can't). 3LF has consistently good coffee, tasty baked goods, and friendly baristas. Only complaint is that the sweet potato spice cake is only available a few times a year!“

“Sip of Joy is a lovely spot in the South End to enjoy a drink and pastry. The service is friendly, and the space is bright and welcoming. There are different types of seating, including counter stools and a large table.I got a plain croissant that was warmed up, and an iced chai latte. Both were tasty, but while I wouldn't get the croissant again, there were other treats that I want to try in the future.“

“This small shop was a very nice surprise for me! They're known for chocolate croissants, and they were, indeed, very good here. I got them fresh, and they were very fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The chocolate was also pretty warm, and so it pretty much melts in your mouth. For me, this was even the case 30min after I got my croissant. Also good, for more savory items, were their foccacias. I forgot the name, but I got one with Italian sausage and tomatoes. Very nice, as the sausage was quite flavorful, and the foccacia, while a bit oily, wasn't overly so. The bread was still nice and crispy, too. I would definitely visit this place again, and try their other items. I saw one of their toasted cookies that looked really good, so that's maybe something l want to try, next time.“

“This is a must stop whenever I visit Boston. Forget the north end canolli wars, Third Cliff pastries are the best. I first went in for the coffee, now I find the pastries bring me back.Vegetarian options: They also have Vegan and GF alternatives.Parking: There is short term parking but typical Boston challenges, it's worth it.“

“Undoubtably the best coffee I’ve had in Massachusetts. Jejes does NOT disappoint. If you are a coffee fanatic this place is a must visit… & soon that visit will turn into a regular trip. The natural flavors that come from the beans are top notch! Thanks so much for the great pour over & espresso!“
“Great spot for the area! Trendy, bright, and eclectic. Doubles over as a coffee shop before 4 (at least on weekdays). Wide range of beer options, from New England IPAs to barrel-aged options (barleywine and a millet ale were on tap recently). Friendly, inclusive staff. Chill or meet up with friends.“

Will be there again!Dietary restrictions: I appreciated that they had dairy-alternative milks for my matcha latte! I got almond milk.“

“One of my favorite places in Boston & Cambridge: good coffee, excellent food, and pleasant ambiance. In warmer times, the back yard is very pleasant. It's very popular though, so snatching a seat can be difficult. Oh, and lately it doesn't offer takeout“

“Had a great experience at this local coffee shop. Both of our drinks were absolutely delicious- got the iced strawberry matcha and a plain cold brew. Might be my new favorite cold brew in the area! Also tried the garlic pao de queijo, which came steaming hot and was amazing. 10/10 experience and great atmosphere to get some studying in.“

“Fast service, good pastry options, reasonable prices. They get their pastries from Cafe Beatrice, which are quite delicious with interesting flavors (black pepper and Gruyère scone pictured). Reliable WiFi and cute ceramic dishware. This is like a 4.5/5 in my book. My only complaints are that the seating can get a little dicey and they run out of pastries by early afternoon.“

“Love this place. It’s my refuge in the mornings before going into work.I’m so glad they changed the music to more mellow sounds like Slowdive, Cigarettes After Sex, and REM. That with a lower volume made the ambience that much better and more welcoming to folks wanting to quiet their minds or have a conversation. We just moved here from LA and I’m glad we found this place. Great food, lovely staff, interesting smart clientele, and peaceful ambiance. Highly Recommended.“

“Nice little place. Turkey club was good.My 'friend' got the Vegan roasted veggie sandwich (pictured) which she she said was good. Food seemed really healthy so that's a big plus.2 sandwiches a bag of chips and a bottle of coke for $30... sadly pretty close to normal these days but still seemed steep. Over $3 for a soda and over $3 for a small bag of chips.Seating is uncomfortable. Was pretty loud inside...Didn't love it but it's not my normal scene. I could see lots of people loving the place though. All that said it's a pretty nice place with a fairly small menu which indicates to me they can keep the food fresh. They have tons of options for drinks but that wasn't why we went there so don't know how good they are but I assume they are good. They have both vegetarian and vegan options so that's a plus.“

“weirdest thing to me is when food establishments don't have restrooms and glasser is one of them. A small place with limited seating, usually taken up by WFH or possibly students. The matcha rose latte i had was on the powdery side but with that being said, the flavor was still nice- not too floraly while still maintaining the green flavor profile of matcha.“

“What an innovative and cool concept - cinema + coffee. The coffee is off the charts here - from the selection of beans, to the roasting on site, to the brewing. It’s all science, and they nail it here. Baked goods are exquisite, and the service is unparalleled. You won’t find a better coffee shop in boston.“

“I always get the classic with house mayo, and it’s made perfectly every time (seriously, how do they get a runny egg so perfect?). It’s the perfect breakfast sandwich to start off my day, and it’s so affordable (under $10!) “Oh how I wish I took a picture of that Bahn Mi. The most perfect bread, so crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, just how it should be. Fillings simple but spot on. I keep thinking about that sandwich days later. Some interesting items on the drinks menu, great spot for a quick bite and a coffee.Super small spot, so no place to really sit and stay for a while. Wouldn’t recommend for studying. But the patio is full of picnic benches and tables, perfect now that summer is on its way.“

“Speedy and friendly service. The food was good. It tasted like margarine instead of butter and cheaper oils, which is typical for a cafe so I can’t complain. I prefer the healthier ingredients personally and likely won’t come her regularly, but it is an excellent cafe.“

“Really good eats here! The broccoli cheddar soup was pretty salty but very flavorful and Hearty. The sticky bun was great- fluffy soft bread and plenty of pecans. Also very much enjoyed trying the half sizes of the mushroom melt sandwich, the Butternut Squash sandwich, and the achiote chicken sandwich. The raspberry oat bar was nice too, and the carrot cake was very moist and with a lot of cream cheese frosting that wasn't overly sweet. There are seating areas downstairs and upstairs which include bar seats and benches and regular chairs, as well as an elevator to the second floor. The staff were very professional and friendly and we saw them help visually impared customers with great courtesy. The only thing I would skip is the chai latte- it tasted pretty bland.“

“Amazing Vegan Ice cream. I have a dairy allergy and I’ve tried a lot of different vegan desserts. These taste exactly like the regular desserts. I had the grasshopper pie with hot fudge and it was amazing. You can even buy toppings for at home use - I bought a jar of hot fudge! Also I love the take a drawing/poem and leave one. I want to do it next time! Would love to see a vegan ice cream flight! Or little ice cream sandwiches.“

“Small local cafe that serves affordable coffee and amazing Italian sandwiches. For over two decades, Cafe Rustica has been a beloved cafe among the locals in this Somerville neighborhood. With classical music gently playing in the background, this quaint cafe offers a soothing ambiance that is perfect for a brief but relaxing stop.I’ve been coming to Cafe Rustica for a quick bite over the past two weeks. After trying their roast beef sandwich on my first visit, I instantly fell I love. The sandwiches here come with a perfectly toasted and pressed paninis, and each bite offered an irresistible crunch. Roast beef itself was just okay, so on my subsequent visit, I got the Italian tuna sandwich. Packed with classic Italian ingredients – like roasted peppers, a drizzle of olive oil, and fresh tomato – it was one of the best simple Italian sandwiches I had in a while. The cafe has a 45-minute limit on table usage, although I'm not entirely sure how strictly this rule is enforced. Despite the crowd during my visits, people didn’t seem to have any issue finding seating. If you’re looking for a simple Italian panini sandwiches, Cafe Rustica might just be one of the best options in the Greater Boston area. Will definitely be back to try more of their sandwiches.Parking: Free 2hr street parking on Somerville Ave (easier to find) & Beacon St“

“I'm obsessed with their quiche and if you call 48 hours ahead of time (I've even gotten away with less), you can pre-order a whole one. This is my new superpower. Everyone loves the person who shows up with a gigantic delicious quiche and it couldn't be easier. Everything else is divine and this place takes all my money, but man. That quiche. *chef's kiss*“

“I loved the vibe. Soooo much quieter and calmer and friendlier than a Starbucks or Dunkin, even though the place was filled with people coming in and out. Everyone spoke quieter. You could actually work here. Also, the food options were so creative, and the server got excited with me about experimenting, and we made a peach blossom lemonade, which was divine :-).I think one mark of a good cafe is how they let their customers enjoy and customize foods and drinks, and this place gets 5 stars!!!“

“I stopped by there lunch time. The space inside the cafe is small. I noticed there were two people waiting behind me when I was ordering and they were standing pretty close to the door. It is a small cozy cafe. Besides the typical wall menu, they also have specialty drinks on a chalk board next to the register. At first I ordered the ice matcha latte without realizing the specialty drinks on the chalk board. The server was nice enough to let me change my order. I ended up ordering an ice black sesame latte and a chocolate cruffin. The Black sesame latte was a little too sweet to me. The chocolate cruffin was surprisingly good. The crust was buttery and crunchy. I think I'll give the other pastries a try! Overall 13/15 Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 3/5“

“There's a lot of hype around Lakon and I wasn't going to wait in line. Came around 3 pm on a Saturday and there was no line and several types of croissants left, I asked which the employee recommended and she said the crème brûlée. It was an investment for $8.50 although it was large. It looked great due to being completely covered with the shiny clear sugar shell that's on top of traditional brûlée (burnt sugar). It was stuffed with the crème and was so large and hard on the outside that it was not easy to take a bite of! I managed, and it was quite tasty but it was hard to really isolate the croissant itself and for that reason I'd recommend going with a more basic option ($4.50) Small shop with friendly employees.“
