My neighbors and I used to order subs and salads from NY Pizza pretty regularly for weekend get-togethers, but we never really liked the pizza all that much, so we stopped going. I decided to stop in for a sub today and got to talking with the new owner. He said he fixed the way the previous owner was making pizza, so I decided to give it a try. I have a new favorite pizza spot. The slices are huge and the crust is perfect. They also took down the bank-teller window that used to go around the cash register, so it feels more friendly now. Went with the Ultimate pizza. Good amount of toppings, didn't specify, but it was cooked well done. Decent overall taste. Some grease to be expected from the meat toppings. Sauce is okay. Crust had a good crunch along the edges and flavorful. Pretty sure the edges are laced. Very little flop. Ran the numbers on my scoring system and the pizza gets a Google 4, 6.5 out of ten on the scale.“

It didn't matter if the pizza had a bunch of toppings (gold fever chicken, pineapple, and bacon) or simply cheese, the crust was crispy, buttery and delicious, the cheese was perfectly browned and all of the ingredients were clearly high quality. We were nervous that all of the toppings on some may make it difficult to eat but each piece held its own and the ratios of everything were spot on!Not only was everything delicious but the prices are reasonable, the service was immaculate and everything about J's Flying Pizza has me wanting to come back for more. “I'll admit it -- we are those people. The ones who weren't going to go out on Valentine's Day until we decided we were. And it turns out we weren't the only ones. The place is frequented by regulars for sure with a bar on one side and a slightly more formal sit down dining room on the other. When we arrived we waited for about 10 minutes and were seated at a high top near the bar area. During this time another couple got frustrated with the single waitress to be seen after she dropped off some food to them. This couple was not empathetic at all and then expressed that to the waitress in a condescending tone on what was probably one of the busiest nights there. The same woman was our waitress and it was clear she was running around from dining room to bar room without a single moment to catch her breath. She did great! Obviously the kitchen was swamped too but we knew to adjust our expectations accordingly for timing. Food was delicious, incredible value. Calamari was a generous portion and could definitely be a small family appetizer on its own. My husband commented that you will not find a steak for less than $35 in the area and I think this one was $25 or so? Truffle fries were excellent. I got the bolognese and it was comforting and a big portion. We'll definitely come back on a less busy night but overall it was a good experience!“

“Let me start with I was not very happy with the sandwich I received, when I arrived back to my work I opened up my meatball sub and it was cold, I wish that the clerk had told me that we are just opening up and the meatballs are still not ready. But what could I do I was a good 20 minutes away, so I ate it cold. The meatball sandwich was still delicious even though it was not hot. That is why I still have it a 5 star for the flavor of this sandwich but not the service I received. I will definitely try again hopefully the balls will be hot.“

Bathroom was wicked clean. Prices were super fair and appropriate.We had ordered a grilled chicken salad and a large pepperoni pizza. Everything was ready to go when we got there. Pizza was perfect size, places often skimp on the size of their larges, but not here, a true large pizza! Dough was amazing and obviously fresh. Pizza was cooked evenly and well. Also, for a pepperoni pizza, which is greasy by nature, it was minimally greasy. Cheese was of great quality and not some of the cheep overly greasy junk you get some places. Salad was extremely fresh, no soggy tomatoes, crisp green peppers, served with a fresh pita, and the Greek dressing was AMAZING. Chicken was sliced up in a perfect size and was fresh and delicious.We travel a lot and have been let down before on pizza places, but this place is a gem and 10/10 will absolutely return.“

“Went to this papa ginos last Thursday 12-14-23 with my son. Right off the bat I noticed that they were short staffed and they were busy. My son and I wait it out, place our order, and within 20 - 25 minutes our name is called, and order is ready. We ate in the restaurant and as we were eating my 11 year old son says "how is this pizza this good when they are that busy? its cooked perfectly". Not going to lie the pizza was one of the better ones we have had from other papa ginos locations. The restaurant itself could use some tlc, but i have to say the team is what made me want to write this review. None of them panicked. They didn't even seem mad or upset about their short staffed situation and orders piling in. In fact, watching the manager direct traffic while answering waiting guest questions with a smile on his face was impressive. So impressive that i pointed it out to my son that in any environment, no matter how stressful, it's all about your attitude. “I finally got to Hoey's. First, IT'S PIZZA AND SALAD, THAT'S IT. Second, the pizza is good. My problem is that it took so long to get it. I tried calling, but if they fall too far behind, they stop taking phone orders. I really wanted to try it based on reviews by Dave Portnoy and others, so I drove over to place my order in person. It took over 30 minutes to get my food. It was a busy Friday night, but wow. Seeing as how I had to pass 6 pizza places to get it ( I came from Brockton), I'm not sure it's worth the wait. If you are in the area and get the timing right, it's good pizza and salad for 20 bucks.“
