“There are some restaurants in the area we visit more in the fall and winter months - not the least of which is Noodles in NoHo. We stopped in for lunch today and as always the spring rolls, soup, and rice bowl were the perfect meal for a cool almost-fall afternoon. I’m a big fan of their coconut-based curry soup with udon noodles - it makes me feel as though my whole body is smiling with contentment. We’ve tried most things on the menu and all of them are superb. And on those cold, damp, blustery days ahead nothing beats their spicy offerings to warm you up!”

“What can I say? This restaurant is an institution. There is no Indian food like it in the United States. Truly authentic and delicious, extremely reasonable prices, perfect ambiance, and wonderfully hospitable. The staff are very kind, personal, and professional. Whether it be Kerala fish curry, puri bhaji from Mumbai, or tandoori chicken, the food covers a vast array of Indian dishes from many regions of the country, with the dinner and lunch buffet alike being plentifully tasty and fulfilling. The atmosphere of the restaurant itself is full of community, with many people, from college students to retirees, coming together to enjoy a feast under its roof. As someone who has a deep appreciation of Indian cuisine, I can honestly say that this is some of the best Indian food you will ever find. There are simply no words to do justice to the experience of eating at Bombay Royale and I could not recommend it more highly.”

“My dad and I ate here last night before a show at Academy Music. Akasia was our server and we loved her. Our food was the best meal we have ever had together in all of our foodie ventures and we wish it was closer so we could go back. The steak tips were cut in house and resembled filet. The scallops were so good we got a second order. The salad was delicate but really great. My dad got the salmon and he is very picky on salmon, but it was incredible and he was delighted we made the choice to go there. I wish the oysters on the half shell were bigger, but the rest made up for it. My dad is in a wheelchair and everyone was super accommodating. Akasia was on point and knew we had a time crunch and accommodated that and also took some nice photos of us together. Great mock-tails and atmosphere was a 10. Hopefully one day soon we can make it back.”

“Food is very good. The owner is very nice and shows she really cares about the quality of their food. Large menu. The dried noodles given for appetizer are home made. Lite and crispy. The best I’ve ever had. I was very pleased with the food I ordered. Will definately be returning. Prices are reasonable. They have lunch and dinner specials.”

Though I initially tried to pay with a card, they kindly informed me they only accept cash, directing me to the nearby ATM. Within minutes, my order of four slices, totaling around eight dollars, was served – one neatly packed to go, and the other plated for immediate enjoyment. To top it off, the owner generously included a complimentary can of soda. As I savored my slice, I couldn't help but appreciate the friendly atmosphere, even catching snippets of lively conversation from fellow patrons. A solid 10/10 experience all around!”

My fiend had the chorizo which she said was excellent. My mom and brother had the eggs Benedict with corn beef hash.

The homemade potatoes with the eggs were perfect!

And the strawberry jam is house made too!
Nathan was our waiter and he was kind and helpful and attentive.

The sandwiches are so good and fresh and there is a wide selection of baked goods and desserts to choose from. If you ask anyone in northampton where to get lunch they will suggest Woodstar.”

“The chef is an amazing cook who knows and loves the cuisine he serves to each table! I was disappointed with options in Noho for sit down service, so we were lucky to snag a table. While the atmosphere isn't overly creative, it is simple and bright, which further allows the food to shine. We ordered jasmine green tea with and without sweetener, both were delicious and piping hot. The scallion pancakes were fantastic, not overly greasy, and dusted with a delicious sweet sour spice mix. The noodle soup was warm and slippery, congee wet and flavorful, and the oyster pancake was crispy and fluffy. The textures and flavors didn't disappoint and I'd happily return for another meal. The menu is simple and without detailed descriptions, but once you know the dish, say congee, it's easy to make choices from options offered. My MIL struggled with lack of familiarity with many of the dishes, but happily tried something new when given an explanation. She raved about her tea and immediately went to the store to find a dupe, it wasn't comparable to the beverage served in house”

“If you have never dined here before, you are in for a surprising treat. The Culinary Arts Department at the Smith Vocational and Agricultural High School operates a student-run restaurant three days a week, Wednesday through Friday of most weeks, from 10:45 AM to 12:30 PM. The students, under the supervision of three chef instructors, learn every aspect of food preparation and service. There is menu service on Wednesdays and Thursdays and an all you can eat buffet on most Fridays, which is currently priced at only $15.00. The menu changes weekly and is posted online. This is genuinely one of the hidden gems of the Pioneer Valley.”

They have amazing Pain Au Raisin and Monkey Bread ? The sandwiches looked delicious! Service was quick, polite and laid back. Very cool vibe! Only a few tables and no dedicated parking. Street parking was easy and you can use an app to pay. No bathroom on premises. Delightful bakery!”

“Tried the lemon mousse with homemade penuche- delicious! Gluten free and vegan options are easy to find: clearly labeled on the menu. Portions are reasonable! Cute vibes. Max and Mirna add to the sweet ambiance. Service was great- I tried to order caramel sauce, but our server recommended I get the homemade penuche, which had a similar taste; it was lighter and grainier than caramel but delicious! Very glad we stopped by here!”

“These folks are working really hard to bring a decent Jewish deli to Western Mass and it shows. Those being super harsh on them after they’ve only been open a matter of weeks might consider the many challenges they are facing and try them again as in my experience they are improving every day. Big ups from several visits on the knish, the babka rolls (totally yum), the deviled egg salad and whitefish salad and the whole Megillah sandwich. The bagels are decent for Western Mass but those expecting a real NY bagel might have to accept they really don’t exist outside NY. The rye bread is too soft and not rye-y enough. We liked the pastrami and again while it is better than you are likely to get elsewhere in WMass but not the best you’ve ever had - this is not Katz’s folks nor could it ever be realistically. But it is pretty darn good for a bunch of scrappy upstarts just getting things going. We plan to keep going and supporting them and hope they are able to make it!”

With that said since the reopening after the pandemic the pizza has been over cooked to the point it is burnt to a crisp, and I mean to a crisp! The old chef has obviously moved on. The last two pizzas I picked up where barely eatable. The left overs were tossed. I used to be a Saturday night regular. The pizza was the best in town for YEARS. Now it seems it’s the worst. I’ll give them one more shot. Three strikes and your out! Replace the pizza chef or at the very least get them cooking lessons.”

“The atmosphere and staff were lacking . The tv was off and there was no music. Only one staff person and she had no personality, didn’t even acknowledge the customers as the waited in line. Food was still excellent”

“Hubby and I love dining on the patio of the Coolidge Park Cafe at the Hotel Northampton at least once or twice a season. Normally the food is good, just good. But last night it was stellar. Hubby had the pan seared wild caught salmon over polenta with fried Brussels sprouts and I had the pan seared wild caught scallops over mushroom risotto and asparagus spears. Everything was absolutely delicious. I haven't had a decent scallop in years, but these really tasted of scallops and the sea with a great texture. The risotto was so rich and mushroomy I can see I'm going to have to make a special broth and buy a bunch of mushrooms to try making one myself. We shared the lemon tart which also knocked our socks off. The server was equally stellar, thoroughly professional and delightful at the same time. We'll be back before snow flies for sure!
